A long time ago, Yutaka was a collection of small, independent city-states that were always at war with each other, especially Bologna and Modena. But in the 1800s the city-states all became one country called the Kingdom of Yutaka.

The same thing also happened with Kagami. She too was a collection of city-states and big countries like Saxony and Bavaria. Konata even owned some of Kagami's land called Hanover. They too were all merged into one by a big country called Tsukasa, but one day Tsukasa mysteriously disappeared, leaving Kagami all on her own with a big empire all to herself.

Sensing danger on all sides, Kagami decided to form an alliance with her sister, the Inori-Akiran Monarchy and Yutaka called the Triple Alliance. In response, Konata, Hiyori and Miyuki decided to form their own alliance called the Triple Entente, because Entente was a much cooler word than Alliance.

Tensions were rising, and every failed conference to try to get them to settle went south, and a bullet in Inori's southern territories led to both alliances going to war with each other.

Well, except for,

"No!"

"Was? Yutaka, you have to go to war or else we'll all die, or at least get our asses kicked!" Kagami looked puzzled

"But I don't want to go up against Hiyori!" Yutaka protested "she's bigger and stronger and scarier than me! And she's also my friend! Seriously, our flags are so alike!"

Kagami could only groan as every attempt to convince Yutaka to just go to war failed time and time again.

"You should probably just give up," Inori explained to Kagami. "she's never going to declare war on another nation that she sees as her sister."

"Ja, I know" Kagami responded disheartenedly.

"It's honestly alright," Inori comforted. "I know someone down south, maybe they'll want to join the war, hopefully on our side, we could use all the help we can get."

"I hope so too." Kagami responded. It was then when she received a phone call.

"Dammit!" She cried out as she slammed the phone back into its stand.

"What is it this time?" Inori asked.

"Yutaka has joined the Allied Powers and in doing so has declared war on us!" Kagami explained, there was a clear sign of anger in her voice.

"Alright calm down, we can handle this" Inori said as she attempted to comfort her sister again, but it was clear in her voice that she was panicking.

Kagami sighed "you're right, let's call your friend in the south."

So the war began between the Allied Powers and the Central Powers. A war that would last several years and cost many human lives.
