Andy had moved to Los Angeles after she separated from Robert. Shortly after that she filed for divorce and her life went on. About a week later, she was in a pretty bad way, hanging over the toilet, and it just wasn't getting any better. When she talked to her cousin Michelle on the phone, she mentioned that she had been feeling bad for a few days. Michelle tells Andy she should take a pregnancy test to be sure. Andy said it wasn't needed because there was no way she was pregnant, but she did a pregnancy test a day later anyway. When the two minutes were up she looked at the test and was quite surprised at the result. The test was positive, which she had not expected. She called Michelle first because she needed to talk to someone about it. Michelle answered the phone and said, "Hey Andy. What's up? Are you okay?" Andy: "Great, I took a pregnancy test like you told me and it's positive." Andy was freaking out which Michelle noticed because Andy was talking pretty fast. Michelle: "First of all take a deep breath and calm down. Andy everything will be fine. If you want me to come, I'll be on the next plane." Andy: "No, you don't have to come, I can handle it myself. But I don't know how to tell Robert about this. We haven't talked in weeks." Michelle: "Are you sure he's the father?" Andy: "Yes, I haven't slept with anyone else. Thank you for always being there for me. I love you." Michelle: "I love you too. If you need anything, just let me know. Bye." Andy: "Bye" After the phone call Andy made an appointment with the gynecologist.
Two days later Andy had her gynecologist appointment. The gynecologist came in and said "Hello Misses Herrera I am Dr. Addison Montgomery. Please lie down in the exam chair." Andy did what told her and lay down. puts some gel on Andy's belly and picked up the ultrasound machine to check on the baby she turned the screen towards Andy and said, " here is your baby you are currently in the 14th ssw so 4 months." Andy: "Four months already? How can I not have a belly yet?" Dr. Montgomery: "If you exercise a lot, it could be that. Some women don't develop a belly until they find out they are pregnant. You don't have to worry, though. Their baby is very well developed. Would you like to know the gender?" Andy: "Yes" Dr. Montgomery: "Congratulations you are having a girl" Andy couldn't help but cry with joy. Seeing her little girl on this screen makes her happy. She never wanted to be a mother but now that her little girl is on the way she is happy. She is still afraid to tell Robert but the joy is there too. Andy: "Can you print out two pictures for me?" Dr. Montgomery: "Yes. I'll be right back." Dr. Montgomery was gone for a moment and Andy had some time to gather her thoughts. The doctor came back and gave Andy the pictures and said goodbye to Andy.
On the way home, Andy stopped at a baby store and bought a few things for her little mouse. Arrived home, Andy first rested, because pregnancy makes her quite tired.
Her first Christmas after the divorce Andy planned to spend with her cousin Michelle in Seattle. Last Christmas she spent with Robert and together they talked about their future and children and now she is sitting here pregnant by him but not by his side because she divorced him. She divorced the love of her life without even having a conversation and hated herself for it. She missed him she missed waking up next to him. She hoped she wouldn't run into him when she was in Seattle because if she saw him she would want to run right into his arms and kiss him.
Andy got off the plane and picked up her bag and went to find Michelle to pick her up. When she found Michelle they smiled at each other and walked towards each other. They hugged and said, Andy: "I missed you Prima." Michelle: "I missed you too. You must be really hungry so I cooked lasagna at home." Andy: "Oh Prima you are the best I am really hungry or more likely my little girl. I've been consistently hungry since I got pregnant." Michelle: "How is the little one?" Andy: "Well at the ultrasound two days ago Dr. Montgomery said she is doing great and I don't have to worry. I still can't really believe I'm going to be a mom." Michelle: "I'm so happy for you. You look so happy." Andy: "I am too but can we go now I am really hungry." Michelle: "Yes of course I don't want you to be hungry."
The two drove to Michelle home and there was already the finished lasagna Andy fasst eaten alone because she had such a big hunger. After eating, Andy unpacked her suitcase and then went to bed to take a nap. The pregnancy and the flight made her pretty tired. Michelle put the dirty dishes in the dishwasher and ran a few errands.
Andy had been asleep for 2 hours and when she woke up it was already dark outside. She got up and went out of her room to look for Michelle. She found her sitting in the living room watching a Christmas movie. Andy: "Hey what movie are you watching?" Michelle: "The Holiday. Do you want to watch?" Andy: "Yeah." br style="box-sizing: border-box;" /Before Andy sat down to watch, she got some snacks. Andy put her legs on Michelle's legs during the movie. Because Andy had told her that her feet hurt, Michelle started to massage Andy's feet. Andy: "Oh thank you that feels good." Michelle massaged Andy's feet until the end of the movie and her pain was less.
After the movie, the two remained sitting on the couch but Michelle got a glass of wine and then the two started talking. Michelle: "I met Robert a few days ago while I was at the store. He asked how you were doing." Andy: "And what did you say?" Michelle: "That you're fine but I didn't mention anything about the pregnancy but Andy don't you think it's about time you told him about his daughter. You can't deny you're pregnant and when you visit your friends on 19 they'll see it and Robert will find out somehow." Andy: "Michelle we've had this conversation so many times I don't feel ready to tell him about the pregnancy and I wasn't planning on visiting 19 while I was in Seattle." Michelle: "But this is not just about you but about your daughter and her relationship with her father. I am your cousin and I will always stand by you but Andy you have had enough time now. Are you sure you don't want to visit your friends." Andy: "No, I'm not sure. Lately I'm not sure about anything. If I'm honest I even want to tell Robert but I don't know how. I still love him and I'm so sorry for breaking his heart." Michelle: "Andy if you want I'll come with you to tell him I'll always be by your side but you shouldn't keep it to yourself any longer it will only complicate things." Andy: "Thanks but I think I should do this alone. I think I'll go to 19 tomorrow and visit my friends. Robert should be there too and can I talk to him." Michelle: "That's a good plan." The two talked some more and then went to sleep too.
The next morning Andy woke up pretty early because she couldn't sleep anymore but since she wanted to visit 19 today anyway she got ready. She got dressed and then made herself a coffee and a slice of toast with Nutella. After that she put on her shoes and went to the 19. She would be lying if she said she wasn't nervous. She is so nervous that she even shivers and gets sweaty hands. It doesn't take her long to get to 19 and before she pulls into the parking lot she takes another deep breath in and out. She parks the car and waits a few minutes in the car to collect her thoughts. She put her hand on her belly and said, "I'll tell your dad about you in a minute." Then she opened the car door and got out she took her bag and closed the car door. She took another deep breath in and out and then walked to the main entrance.
Andy walked into the station and looked into the captain's office where she saw Robert sitting. Just before Andy left for Los Angeles, Robert was reappointed captain of the 19. He didn't see her because he was engrossed in his paperwork. She took another deep breath in and out and then knocked on the door. He looked up from his desk and when he saw her he was surprised. He said, "Come in." Andy opened the door and walked in. Andy: "Hi." Robert: "Hi, what are you doing here?" Andy: "I need to talk to you actually I should have talked to you months ago but I didn't know how to tell you. Actually, now I still don't really know how to say it but Michelle made me realize if I delay it any longer it will be even more complicated." Robert: "Just say it." Andy opened her jacket and put her hand on her stomach and said, "I'm pregnant and it's yours." Robert got up from his chair and walked over to Andy and took her in his arms. Robert: "I'm so happy. I'm going to be a father." Andy: "You're not angry." Robert: "No I'm not angry. I would have preferred to know sooner but I don't want to waste any more time being mad." Andy: "I'm glad you're happy. Would you like to see an ultrasound picture of her?" Robert: ""Of her? It's a girl." Andy: "Yes, it's a girl." Andy took out the ultrasound pictures and gave them to Robert, who was looking at the pictures of his daughter with a smiling face. Andy: "I think she has your nose." Robert: "Yeah right she has my nose but definitely your ears." Andy: "Yeah right I didn't notice the ears before." Just as Andy was done talking she noticed her daughter kicking her. Andy: "Give me your hand." Robert: "Why?" Andy: "Just give it to me." Robert gave Andy his hand and she put his hand on her belly at the place where her daughter had just kicked. It took a moment for the little one to kick again but when Robert felt his daughter's kick a smile spread across his face again. Andy: "Did you feel her?" Robert: "Yes it's incredible. I felt our daughter." Andy: "In the evenings when I'm lying in bed she always parties and kicks really hard."
Robert still had his hand on Andy's stomach and felt his daughter kick as Andy and he smiled at each other. Without thinking about it, he approached Andy's face and kissed her and she returned the kiss. They continued kissing until they were interrupted by a knock on the door. Their lips parted quickly and Robert said, "Come in." Vic opened the door and said, "Oh am I interrupting." Robert: "No Hughes you're not interrupting what is it?" Vic hadn't noticed Andy at first because Robert was standing in the way. Vic: "Andy?" Andy: "Hey Vic." Vic: "What are you doing here?" Andy: "I'm visiting Michelle for the holidays and wanted to come see you guys." Vic: " Great to see you again." Andy: " Good to see you again too." Robert: "Hughes what did you want?" Vic: "I was wondering if you knew who blocked the toilets?" Robert: "No I don't." Vic: "Okay then, I'll leave you two alone again." Vic closes the door and the two were alone again but neither knew what to say. After the two had been silent for a while, the alarm went off and Robert was called out on a mission. Andy called after him, "Bye," and then she went back to her car and drove to Michelle's house.
Once there, she turned on the TV and picked out a Christmas movie, thinking about the kiss the whole time. It was not just a kiss it was a sign that told her to get her ex-husband back. She spent the rest of the day watching Christmas movies and ordered pizza for lunch. After she ate, she fell asleep on the couch.
Both were dressed and they went to the shopping center. First they went to a baby store and the two found a lot of things that look incredibly cute. Andy bought a few things, too, but she would have loved to buy more. After the baby store they went to a clothing store. Andy found nothing there but Michelle all the more. They went into every store and almost always came out with something. At lunch time they went to eat at a burger place.
After lunch they went to Walmart. They both took a shopping cart each because it was clear they were going to buy a lot. While Michelle was in the meat department, Andy was in the baking department because she wanted to bake Cinnamon stars but the icing Sugar she needed was on top and she couldn't get to it. She stood on tiptoe trying to get the icing Sugar when suddenly she heard a voice. "Do you need help?" She knew that voice from somewhere and just as she turned to see who it was she realized it was Robert's voice. "Yes I need the icing sugar." Robert took a bag of the Icing sugar and handed it to Andy. "Thanks." Robert: "What are you planning to bake?" Andy: "Cinnamon stars and what are you doing in the baking department?" Robert: "I was going to bake Franzbrötchen." Andy: "Franzbrötchen?" Robert: "In my childhood, I ate that often when we visited my cousin in Hamburg. It's a specialty from Hamburg. It's a Plunderteig filled with a cinnamon and sugar mixture." Andy: "That sounds delicious." Robert: "You can come by for coffee and have one when they're done." Andy: "Thanks but you don't have to. Enjoy your Franzbrötchen." Robert: "I'll be happy to share my Franzbrötchen with you." Andy: "Okay then, I accept the invitation. Will you write me when they are ready?" Robert: "Yes I'll write to you." Andy: "Okay. Bye, I have to go find Michelle.
Andy had already thought to find Michelle in the meat department, so she didn't look for long. Andy: "Hey, you don't think if I just met." Michelle: "If then?" Andy: "Robert and he invited me to drink coffee and eat Franzbrötchen." Michelle: "What are French rolls?" Andy: "A pastry made of puff pastry with a cinnamon and sugar mixture." Michelle: "Sounds very sweet." Andy: "Yes but it also sounds very delicious." Michelle: "If you think it's too sweet for me. Do you need anything else or do you have everything?" Andy: "I have everything." Michelle: "Okay. Then we can go to the cashier." Andy: "Okay."
The next day Michelle had to go to work and Andy made her cinnamon stars. For the dough she needed 300 g ground almonds, 150 g icing sugar, 1 packet vanillin sugar, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 2 tablespoons Amaretto and 2 Egg white . She weighed all the ingredients and started mixing them together as the recipe said. While she was baking she turned on loud Christmas music and danced. While the cinnamon stars are in the oven Andy cleaned up the kitchen still with loud Christmas music. The kitchen was just finished cleaning up when the doorbell rang. She wondered who it could be she was not really expecting anyone. She opened the door and to her surprise Robert was standing in front of her. Robert: "Hey I thought I'd just come to your place with the Franzbrötchen so you don't have to leave the house." Andy: "Oh thanks, come on in. My cinnamon stars are almost ready too. Do you want me to make coffee?" Robert: "No let me do it. You can rest or keep listening to loud Christmas music and dancing to it." Andy: "How do you know I listened to loud Christmas music." Robert: "I just know you."
Andy: "Do you want me to put the Franzbrötchen on the table already?" Robert: "Yes." Andy put the Franzbrötchen on a plate and put the plate on the table the coffee cups she also already put down and just in time the cinnamon stars were also ready. Andy: "The cinnamon stars are ready. How long does the coffee take?" Robert: "The coffee is ready, too." Andy: "Okay, great." Andy was already sitting down and Robert brought the coffee. Robert poured both of them some coffee into their cups and each took a Franzbrötchen. Andy took the first bite of the Franzbrötchen and said, "It tastes even better than I imagined." Robert: "Then I guess I'll have to make them more often now." Andy said with a grin on his face, "Yeah." After that, the two finished their Franz rolls. Andy had finished her French roll and the kiss a few days ago was still on her mind. "Robert." "Yes." "The kiss a few days ago. Why did you kiss me." Robert thought about what to answer for a moment but he actually already knew his answer. "Because I love you. You are the love of my life and I have never stopped loving you. Back in the hospital I said "I want to live a long long life and love you every minute of it." and I have. I loved you every minute even when you weren't by my side and broke my heart I loved you and still love you." Andy got up from her chair and went to Robert and sat on his lap and said, "I love you too and I'm sorry for breaking your heart." and then she kissed him.
"A few months later, Andy and Robert became parents to little Louise Sullivan and Andy and Robert were happily together again.
