A Letter To Stevie

"DIANGELO! I ALREADY TOLD YOU! I'M NOT SELLING MY CAMP TO YOU!" everyone in the room heard Jessa yelling at Frank, she was furious.

"AND I HAVE TOLD YOU COUNTLESS TIMES, GREEN," Frank yelled back at Jessa just as furiously. "I'M NOT EVEN INTERESTED IN PURCHASING YOUR DINKY CAMP!"

Hikaru set the vase of tulips on the side table next to Hikari's bed.

"Happy birthday, Kari." Hikaru said.

"Happy birthday yourself, Karu." Hikari returned.

"So," Carole inquired. "when will you be discharged, Kari?"

"The doctor said I could return to Camp Rosewood tonight, Carole." Hikari replied.

"You can't keep a good woman down!" Lisa commented.

"A good horsewoman!" Carole corrected.

Everyone had to laugh.

Until Lisa's expression became serious.

"What's wrong, Lisa?" Hikaru asked.

"Hikaru," Lisa said. "there is something you should know."

"What is it, Lisa?" Hikaru asked.

"Kari was egged on to take that jump when she wasn't ready," Lisa replied. "by Lorna."

"WHAT!" Hikaru exclaimed, he was furious.

"It's true, Lorna knew the jump was to high for Kari not to mention for the rest of us." Carole told Hikaru.

Frank walked up to Hikaru, "It's time we were heading back." he said.

"Yes sir, Sergeant DiAngelo," Hikaru said. "and Jessa?"

"What is it, Hikaru?" Jessa answered.

"If I were you," Hikaru advised Jessa. "I would expell Lorna from Camp Rosewood."

"I will consider doing that," Jessa said. "thank you, Hikaru."

At Fort MacArthur that evening, Phil was sitting on his cot writing a letter to Stevie.

When he finished writing his letter, Phil addressed it and stamped it for the mail the next day.
