Snowflake

A happy young feline is Snowflake,

Residing at two two one B.

The king of the landlady's kitchen;

As the tenants above would agree.

For a tortoiseshell cat, one might wonder

At the landlady's choice of a name;

He appeared on her doorstep last Christmas,

In the snow, which is clearly to blame.

He guards her domain from all comers,

From his basket in front of the range;

Rewarded with scraps from the larder;

A mutually helpful exchange.

He'll deign to acknowledge her tenants,

Who save him a spot near their fire,

Where he sleep on some cold winter evenings.

What more could a moggy desire?
