Dear Santa
Today's story is written by rosewood_station19
It was the 18th of December, 7 days till Christmas every little girl and boy would be getting very excited. But for lily Herrera- Sullivan she wasn't really in the spirit. Her parents had split up with she was 5 months old and all they could do is argue. One morning lily saw a leaflet saying Santa would be at the town centre
Lily; "daddy, daddy can we go and see Santa please," the six-year got a little excited as she went in to wake Robert up
Robert; "good morning to you princess, I thought mummy was taking you Monday when you go back to her"
Lily; "I can still go with mummy but I want to go and see Santa with you please"
Robert;" I'll ring mummy and see if it's ok with her. You know what mum is like"
The little girl went from excited to laying in her dad's arms as she knew that her mum would say it was their thing to do and that she only should see Santa once. It was hard for the little one as she wanted to do stuff with both parents and not just one
Robert; "right you go and get dressed and I'll make us some breakfast and ring mum ok," he asked.
They both got up, Robert went and made some pancakes and rang andy
Andy; "what she has done now," she asked a little pissed
Robert; "good morning, lily has asked if I could take her to see Santa she saw a leaflet and now wants to go"
Andy; "no Robert I take her to see Santa"
Robert; "she still can go with you but she wants to go with me"
As they argued on the phone for another 10 minutes, lily sat at the top of the stairs and listened to her parents argue
Robert; "you know what I don't care, I'm taking her to see Santa as that's what she's asked to do, he said as he slams the phone down on the counter."
Lily, "baby breakfast is ready"
The little girl can down slowly wiping her eyes not letting him know she had been crying. She sat at the table very quietly eating her breakfast.
Robert; "I'm going to get a shower and get ready and we'll go see Santa and go ice skating." He told his daughter
Lily; "ok daddy, I'm going to write my Christmas letter to Santa," she said sitting on the couch with a piece of paper and a pencil
She sat on the sofa thinking of what she wanted but she couldn't think of anything that she wanted apart from one thing, her parents to be happy again smiling like they were in a photo she carries around with her, a photo of Andy and Robert on their wedding day.
Dear Santa,
my name is lily Sullivan Herrera, I am 6 years old. For Christmas I don't want a lot the only thing I want is mum and dad back together again just like they were in this photo( lily carries a photo of her parents when they got married) So if it's true and there's is a Santa then you'll help them go in the right direction of being happy again, please.

She folds the letter up and puts it in her pocket,
Lily; "daddy I've done my letter she shouts from the bottom of the stair up to her daddy who had just come out of the bedroom
Robert; "alright I'm ready now, put on your coat and then we can go."
Andy; "why does he have to do this, he knows I'm the one who takes her to see Santa," she was fuming about the conversation she had with Robert over the phone
Vic; "but didn't you say that lily asked him to take her? maybe she wants her dad to take her for once"
Andy thought for a moment she knew her daughter was closer to her father than she was to her, she was slightly scared that she was pushing lily further away
Andy; "she's starting to hate me ain't she"
Vic; "that's not true, Lily just needs you both to agree from time to time, that it's ok if these situations that the other parent is ok to take her and spend time with her."
Andy didn't like what Vic had to say so she stormed off.
Robert watched as Lily had fun playing at the centre of town fun fair, the smile on her face made his heart melt. He was glad that he took the opportunity to bring her here although it was going to be another argument when Andy picks her up in the morning he didn't care she was his good damn child too he thought.
Lily; "Mummy, mummy she shouts, what are you doing here?" It pulled Robert out of his thoughts
Andy; "I was shopping I didn't know you were here"
Robert; "no just unexpectedly came here, although you don't usually come here"
Andy; "I needed to get something from a store,"
Andy had agreed to go on a date with someone she met on a dating app. She felt a connection with this guy, but she didn't know his real name only he goes by the name of user1932
Lily; "mummy can you stay for a little, please," she hoped her mum would say yes but got sad when she told her was in a rush
Andy; "I've got to go Hunny, but ill see you tomorrow evening," she said hugging her daughter then left never saying goodbye to Robert
Lily; "daddy, why don't mummy like you anymore?" The question he couldn't answer because she was too young to understand
Robert; "I don't know baby, are you ready to go and see Santa," he asked changing the subject completely
Robert has always loved Andy even when it was at hard times the thought of letting her go was harder than he thought. He made a mistake and he was paying for it but in his eyes, it wasn't that big of a deal Andy took the situation too far
Lily; "yes daddy I am," she said taking her dad's hand and walking to Santa's grotto which wasn't far from them. They had a ticket with a number on and their number was next
Elf; "are you ready to see Santa do you have your list ready," he asked lily who began to be a little shy
Robert; "you don't have to go up there we can come back another day"
Lily; "no daddy I want to do it now," she said getting a little confident and taking the elf's hand
Santa; "hello, you must be Lily," he said he knew her name because of what Robert wrote on the paper when he paid for his daughter to see Santa
Lily; "yes that's my name"
Santa; "well it looks like you are on my good girl list, do you know what you want for Christmas"
Lily; "I wrote a letter of what I want this year," she said as she pulled her letter out
Santa read lily's letter, in the 6 years he had been working as a Santa he had never come across a letter as he had with Lily
Lily; "please Santa I want my mom and dad back together again. I heard my mummy saying she was meeting someone and he sounds perfect. Please I don't want another dad"
Santa; "I don't know whether I can give you this by Christmas as it's only five days away but I'll have a think of what I can do." He said
Lily; "thank you Santa," she said shaking his hand and left walking back to her dad.
Robert; "wow you look happy, shall we go and get some lunch," he said checking the time
Lily; "yes I'm hungry, can we see if mummy is still around and ask her to come with us"
Robert; "I'll message her and see ok."
Message from Robert
Lily wants to know if you are still around, she wants you to come to lunch with us. ( make her happy)
The conversation she had with Vic still ran around her mind
Message from Andy
I'm still here where shall I meet you
Robert didn't tell lily and sent another message back to Andy saying she wants pizza and they are 5 mins away
Message from Andy
Ok I'll get us a table as I'm there now
Robert and Lily walked into the pizza place lily was so happy to see her mum sitting there. They sat together and shared a pizza. Lily was so happy to have both parents together and not argue. But it was short of lived when Andy then had to leave to go and meet her mystery man.
Robert; "it's ok baby, auntie Vic and uncle Theo are coming over later to see you, we can do something with them." The little girl still wasn't happy
Robert tried to make his daughter happy and forget that her mother had more important things to do than to spend a little time with her.
Message from Robert
I think it'll make our daughter happy for one day we spend together with her, no fighting no arguing just being there for our daughter. You can decide what day to do
As Vic and theo arrived lily sat on the sofa without a smile on her face
Robert; "come on Lily, what's the matter"
Lily; "nothing I'm ok,"
Vic; "well aunt VIC is here to brighten the evening tell me what you want to do it's still early so we can go out"
Lily; "can we go to the winter wonderland and go on the big wheel"
Vic; "yes, I think we can do that," she said smiling at the little girl.
There even was full of fun laughter and smiles. They went to the winter wonderland and had hot chocolate and doughnut. Between them, they won four big teddy bears. A ride on the big wheel wasn't a hit for them all as theo did not like it, as he sat there hands over his eyes as he couldn't bare to look at how high they were going but it made lily and Vic laugh.
They managed to get home and put a sleeping Lily to bed without waking her with the four big teddy bears sitting and waiting for her in the morning.
I got to 11 pm and Andy's date didn't turn up, she had no message or anything to say he was going to be late or wasn't turning up. She paid for the room so she was going to enjoy the king-size bed and room service she had
At 3 am a knock at the hotel door woke Andy up she thought it was the cleaners but it wasn't as she stood there in her silk dressing gown. Surprise to see the man holding a rose in front of her
Andy; what are you doing here how did you know I was here,
X; I'm sorry I must have the wrong door, he said checking the door number and then his message on his phone but they were saying the right number.
She shut the door, leaving him out there when she had a message
what room number are you in
Andy opened the door again the man in front of her was still the man she unexpectedly sees
Andy; are you user1932, she asked
X; yes I am.
