Chapter 12 - The First Attempt

Cut to J.R.'s office, Duck was mimicking Queen Hilda's evil cackle until he noticed J.R. (Off screen) is staring at him oddly.

Duck: What?

J.R.: You're using your cross dressing voice.

Duck (nervously): N-n-no I wasn't.

J.R.: Then what?

Duck: Page 42. Meanwhile back at the cottage…

Cut back to the cottage, we find Snow White biding her new friends goodbye as they head to their mine in the mountains.

Snow White: So long everyone, have a good day.

Charlie Brown: We're going to be away all day and you'll be all alone here.

Linus: Beware of your stepmother, she'll soon learn you're still alive.

Schroeder: Be careful and beware of strangers.

Lucy: Don't let nobody in the house.

Peppermint Patty: Not even us. Hmmm…. Maybe us.

Sally: If you not sure if it's us or not, ask us and we'll tell you.

Snow White: Thank you, all of you. I'll be careful, I promise.

The peanuts left for the mountains waving goodbye to Snow White.

Once the peanuts are gone, Snow White went to work at keeping house for her friends. While working she thought about Prince Klaus who she met a few nights ago and at the same time Prince Klaus is on his horse trotting into the woods looking for Snow White. As they wonders the two sings "Far Longer Than Forever" from The Swan Princess.

[Snow White]

If I could break this spell

I'd run to him today

And somehow I know he's on his way to me

Klaus, you and I were meant to be

Far longer than forever

I'll hold you in my heart

It's almost like you're here with me

Although we're far apart

[Klaus]

Far longer than forever

As constant as a star

I close my eyes and I am where you are

[Snow White]

Sure as the dawn brings the sunrise

We've an unshakable bond

[Klaus]

Destined to last for a lifetime and beyond

Far longer than forever

[Snow White]

Far longer than forever

[Klaus]

I swear that I'll be true

[Snow White]

I swear that I'll be true

[Klaus]

I've made an

[Klaus & Snow White]

Everlasting vow

To find a way to you

Far longer than forever

Like no love ever known

[Snow White]

And with your love

[Klaus & Snow White]

I'll never be alone

[Snow White]

Far longer than forever

[Klaus]

Much stronger than forever

[Snow White]

And with your love I'll never be alone

The song ends as Snow White drawing water from the well until her slight daydreaming is interrupted by the voice of a certain old peddler woman.

Old Peddler Woman: Fine wares to sell! fine wares to sell, very cheap.

Snow White approach the old peddler woman, unaware is her evil stepmother.

Snow White: Good-day, kind woman, what have you to sell?

Old Peddler Woman: Good wares, fine wares, Laces of all colors.

The old woman held up a piece that was woven of variegated silk.

Snow White looked obvious of the woman's true intentions and let her in and bought the pretty lace.

Once inside, the old woman slowly put her sinister plot in motion.

Old Peddler Woman: Jumping Jehoshaphat! What a figure you are, child! Come and let me lace you properly for once.

Snow White, suspecting nothing, stood up before her, and let her lace her with the new lace.

Old Peddler Woman: Consider yourself lucky that I came to this part of the forest.

Snow White: I'm very grateful but I can lace my bodice myself.

Old Peddler Woman: Allow a poor old woman tend to a creature like the princess… Snow White.

Snow White (look suspicious): How did you…

But before Snow White could finish, the old woman laced so quickly and tightly that it the princess's breath away, and she fell down as dead.

Queen Hilda (removing her paint): Now my pretty, you are done with being the fairest.

The queen laughs wickedly as she hastened away. Her cackling can be heard to the mountains as the seven peanuts stopped what they're doing and have pale, horrified faces.

Sally: Big Brother did you hear that.

Charlie Brown: I heard something.

Schroeder: I got a odd feeling that Snow White need us.

Lucy tries to be optimistic about the situation.

Lucy: [Optimistic at First] N-n-no need to panic, they've got to be a explanation for this. She must be taking a nap or collecting apples or… [reality sinking in] LETS GO HELP HER!

Wasting no time, Charlie Brown and the others return to the cottage and once they got there. They're were terrified to see their friend lying motionless on the floor.

Sally: SNOW WHITE!

She ran to her and noticed that her bodice is laced up too tight.

Sally: Help! HELP!

Sally tries to loosen the lace to no avail. Then Peppermint Patty grab a pair of scissors and cut the laces loose. Slowly afterwards, Snow White starts to breathe again and turns to Peppermint Patty.

Snow White: Thank you, Peppermint Patty.

Charlie Brown and Linus carefully helped her up.

Charlie Brown: What happened?

Peppermint Patty: Yeah, who did this to you?

Snow White: A old peddler woman. Who laced me so tight, I couldn't breathe.

Peppermint Patty (angrily): If I ever find I'll…

Linus calm Peppermint Patty down before turning his attention to the princess.

Linus: Easy there. Anyway what does she look like?

Snow White: I couldn't get a good look but I think it's my stepmother. But, she doesn't have gray hair.

Charlie Brown: Maybe one of her hired spies.

Lucy: Perhaps. Still, you need to be more careful while we'll away.

Snow White nodded and hugged Lucy in gratitude.

Back at the castle on the east side of the forest, the Queen quickly removed her disguise and approached the looking glass.

Queen Hilda: Looking glass upon the wall, who is the fairest of us all.

Pig-Pen appears before Queen Hilda.

Pig-Pen: Queen, I feel kinda embarrassed. But Snow White living in the cottage of the seven peanuts is still the fairest.

Queen Hilda: What? Snow White still alive, how's that possible? No matter. I'll be rid of you if is the last thing I do!

Chapter 12 ended.
