Bayley rallies the God Girls when Seth tries to pull Sasha out of deep waters with the McMahon family and Bray Wyatt on his own and Roman Reigns files for custody of Abiyah Rollins.
Chapter Eleven – All For the Boss
WWE HQ, Stamford, Connecticut
Steph and Jeff Hardy sat uncomfortably opposite of Sasha Banks and Shane McMahon while Beth Hardy had a talent relations meeting with the Hurt Business, AJ Styles, Kenny Omega and Finn Balor. The Hardys weren't the only ones having a bad time in Stamford. At WWE HQ, Professor Kendrick Alexander was bored out of her wits. Kendrick Alexander, Kenny Omega's fiancé, wanted to leave and go back to Harvard to continue her research on slimline robotics. She was thinking of inserting something AI-based into Becky Lynch's leather jacket sleeves that could help the God Girls find her if she was in trouble. There were a few other creations she was working on but now her time was being burgled by some kind of business meeting at WWE HQ. She didn't want to act like her fiancé's line of work wasn't of any interest to her, even though it truly wasn't. Kendrick couldn't care less about professional wrestling; she was a Harvard science professor for a reason. Kenny Omega was a sports guy though so leaving right now would be unfair to him, so she rode it out and decided to try and pay attention to whatever it was Beth Hardy was talking about.
A few moments later she found herself wishing she had left and gone back to Harvard.
Beth Hardy had come up with some kind of storyline involving Finn Balor and herself and it made the Harvard professor very uncomfortable. Almost as uncomfortable as the Hardys were at the Stamford diner with Sasha Banks and Shane McMahon.
"Um, have you discussed this angle with Becky Lynch?" Miss Alexander asked Beth Hardy.
"No, why would I do that?" Beth Hardy asked confidently.
"Because it involves her husband," Kendrick Alexander replied. "She might not be okay with it,"
"So what if she isn't? It's just a storyline line, if anyone would understand that its Becky Lynch," Beth Hardy said and Finn Balor nodded.
"Yeah, we're all professionals here Kenny," Finn Balor said and Kendrick furrowed her brow.
"You haven't even been on your honeymoon yet, are you sure you should be doing this angle right now?" Kendrick asked Finn who shrugged it off.
"What's the difference? She's busy with the God Girls, now I'm busy at work. She's doing what she loves and I'm doing what I love. The timing worked out great in my opinion. At least this way we both have something to do until we finally go on our honeymoon," Finn said and Miss Alexander furrowed her brow, not liking the way Finn said "honeymoon."
Beth Hardy leaned over her mahogany desk into Finn's brooding eyes. "You know she's probably not going to around for awhile, do you think she'll be open to a call so we can talk about this with her?" she asked Finn who sighed.
"I can't even get her to respond to a text, how on Earth am I going to get her to talk about an angle with you, AJ, Omega and the Hurt Business?" Finn Balor said and Beth Hardy nodded sympathetically while Miss Alexander looked on suspiciously.
"Let's wrap it up for now, I've got a meeting scheduled with Sasha Banks and my uncle Shane. Why don't we pick this up next week?" Beth Hardy said.
"We don't mind hanging around, we're actually part of Shane McMahon's entourage so we're travelling with him and Sasha Banks," MVP said.
"What about Seth?" Beth Hardy asked.
"I'm right here," Seth said gliding into the executive suite on his prayer shawl with Ra-Ra and Abiyah. "Sasha's having a meeting with Shane and your parents and I so didn't want to be a part of that, so I thought I'd check in on you Beth. How's it going?"
"Hey lil man!" MVP called to Abiyah who ran up to him and played with his violet tie while Ra-Ra enjoyed being petted by Kenny Omega.
"Cool Oryx," Kenny said to Seth, "so you're not hanging out with the God Girls anymore huh, that sucks. Those Girls were alright,"
"Yeah well, they were until they decided to burn down the Sandbox with me and Sasha still inside," Seth said.
"Hasn't the Sandbox been restored?" Beth Hardy asked Seth. "I saw a picture of it in Connecticut Today, that is one beautiful palatial estate,"
"It sure is but it doesn't belong to me and Sasha anymore, Hunter kicked us out and gave it to the God Girls," Seth said and Beth Hardy looked at him in shock.
"What?!" she said horrified.
"Cool!" Miss Alexander cried. "The God Girls own that beautiful new property, I better give them a call and congratulate them!"
"This is an injustice!" Beth Hardy said furiously. "If it wasn't for you, there wouldn't be any God Girls! Hunter gave the Sandbox to you and Sasha and Abiyah, he can't just change his mind because he's mad at Uncle Shane!"
"He can and he did but I don't care, I'm happy wherever I live, just as long as I'm with my wife and kid," Seth said peacefully. "Whether we're in New York, Los Angeles, or Philadelphia, it doesn't matter as long as we're together,"
"Oh that's nonsense, you inherited the Sandbox, Hunter can't just renege on a deal because he changed his mind. DX are so malicious, I've had it with them!" Beth Hardy said and she called someone while Seth looked at the Hurt Business who were playing around with his son.
"What are you guys doing here anyway?" Seth asked them.
"Beth's got us in a new storyline with AJ, Kenny Omega and Finn Balor. We're gonna be on TV a lot this year," MVP said as Abiyah put on Bobby Lashley's shades.
"Sounds like fun, so what's the angle?" Seth asked Beth Hardy but she was a call with someone and still scowling.
"Yes I'd like to see you right away, I need advice on property law in Connecticut," she said and Seth realised she was speaking to a lawyer.
"Um Beth, what are you doing?" Seth asked as she scribbled something down on a pad.
"Thank you I'll see you soon," she said before hanging up and turning back to Seth. "I'm going to get you, Sasha and Abiyah back into the Sandbox. Hunter can't play hot potato with that property just because you're on the payroll. He treats the WWE Superstars like crap and I'm not going to stand for it anymore,"
Seth flipped his hair and tried to relax but he knew he had to contact the God Girls right away.
Only he couldn't do that, not anymore.
Their relationship was severed and that was a shame because he could really use Bianca Belair's sound advice. It sounded like Beth Hardy was just as mad at DX as Shane McMahon and his wife were. So, instead of calling the Girls, he played the whole thing down and changed the subject.
"So, what's this new angle about anyway?" he asked.
"I'm playing the authority figure with an agenda and I'm going to turn Finn Balor against Kenny Omega and AJ Styles. The World Championship and Tag Championships will be on the line. All three titles will be held by the Hurt Business and only one member of Finn's group will be eligible to go up against Bobby Lashley for the World Championship. Finn will betray AJ and Kenny and the result will be a Triple Threat match between both groups for all titles at SummerSlam," Beth explained and Seth's face lit up.
"I love it, I sure wish I could be part of that," he said eagerly. "I'd love to work with all of these guys,"
"You'll have your own angle Seth," Beth Hardy said and Seth's ears pricked up intrigued.
"I will? Well come on Beth let me in on it!" Seth asked excitedly.
"Patience Seth, first let's get you and your family back into the Sandbox. The God Girls have that nice spot in New York, Hunter's behaving like an over-indulged autocrat. I like the idea of you and Sasha living in Connecticut, it'll make it easier for us to work together going forward. Your family and my family are going to be a lot closer from now on," Beth said and Seth wondered just what this angle was.
"You sure seem confident Beth, you really are your mother's daughter," Seth said and Beth smiled while Miss Alexander pulled Seth to the side so she could talk to him privately.
"You gotta get out of here, Beth Hardy is trying to break up Becky's marriage and she's trying to make it sound like an angle. I think she's trying to get rid of the God Girls," Miss Alexander said. "I'm going to the Sandbox right now, why don't you come with me?"
Seth sighed, "I can't, I promised my wife that I'd never talk to the God Girls ever again. I can't go back on that, my marriage comes first, maybe when you and Omega get married you'll understand that," Seth said and Miss Alexander furrowed her brow at him.
"I'll tell you what I understand Seth, the God Girls would do anything for you. Can you say the same about your wife?" Miss Alexander said and Seth scowled at her.
"Watch your mouth Professor," he said seriously and Miss Alexander backed off.
"Fine, I'll leave it alone but you think about that the next time she gets you to change your mind about something else that's really important to you," Miss Alexander said before she left for the Sandbox and Seth thought about telling her the Truth, that he was still with the God Girls, in secret. Out in the open, he was about to become and enemy of both the God Girls and the DX family and Beth Hardy wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
"So, you're not going to tell me about this angle you've got planned for me at SummerSlam?" Seth asked Beth Hardy as she sat back in her executive chair pulling at her string of pearls.
"I'm not going to spoil the surprise, one thing I know for sure, it'll be a jaw-dropping moment," Beth Hardy said and as Seth's curiosity peaked, Beth Hardy's intentions became darker and darker and masterfully well hidden. But like all secrets, the God Girls were about to expose her to the light so Seth didn't get burned. Whether they were together or not, Seth and the God Girls were all still very much on assignment, an assignment they planned very much on successfully completing.
