Bayley rallies the God Girls when Seth tries to pull Sasha out of deep waters with the McMahon family and Bray Wyatt on his own and Roman Reigns files for custody of Abiyah Rollins.
Chapter Thirteen – The Enemy of Enemies
Hayworth and MacKenzie's apartment, New York City, New York
The DX family were mostly harboured down in Connecticut, leaving Hayworth Helmsley with the perfect opportunity to find out what the deal was with Carla McCool accepting a marriage proposal from Austin Theory. Relatively nothing was known about the latest addition to the WWE roster, other than he was insanely talented and young. Up until last week he was one of DX's pet projects and the roster seemed to like him a whole lot. Now, he was being treated like a criminal after asking for Carla McCool's hand in marriage, without any of the DX family knowing. It was shady and a bold move, considering who Carla McCool was, the beloved sister of the warrior bride, Lisa Helmsley Michaels. LC wanted to chop Austin's head off, she didn't trust Theory or his motives. Plus he was unknown; there was no telling what kind of impact his engagement to Carla could have on the DX family.
Following up on his big sister's suspicions, Hayworth invited Austin and Carla over for dinner to find out a bit more about the WWE's young Superstar. His wife Charlene McKenzie didn't see what the big deal was, that was until at the last minute, Austin declined the dinner invitation.
"What!" Mac said to her husband as he relayed her the news that their dinner plans were no longer going ahead.
"Apparently Carla was the one who pulled out. She said she wanted to go to the hospital to see the McCools," Hayworth said and Mac furrowed her brow.
"Okay I get that but why cancel? Can't she do both?" Mac said with a shrug.
"I'm not gonna force it but I am gonna tell LC that Carla's talking to the McCools again. After what "The Truth" Trish Stratus told her about the McCools, she might not be safe hanging around them right now," Hayworth said and he sighed as he called Lisa. He wasn't sure if his sister Carla was safe around anyone right now. Out of all the DX children, Carla seemed like the one to be in the most danger and it was because she gave her DX jewels back to ATM.
The Sandbox
As LC listened to what her brother told her was going on in New York with her sister Carla, her blood started to boil and ATM noticed her brow hardened as Hayworth filled her in.
"Urgh!" she cried after hanging up, "So now that snake Austin is with Carla while she's at the hospital with Charlotte and Dan McCool," she told ATM as they gathered around her with Faith Star and Cameron Michaels. "I told him to go to the hospital and check on her,"
Trish shook her head and pulled out her cell-phone, "That's gonna be trouble. I'll tell Randy to go and make sure nothing gets out of hand. If an altercation takes place between Hayworth and Austin, it could put DX in hot water,"
"This whole thing is so stupid, what does my sister see in that guy?" LC said as Cameron rubbed her shoulders and Faith Star hugged her by the waist.
"Its like Uncle Seth and Aunty Sasha. No-one understands their relationship apart from them," Faith Star said with the wisdom of a thousand King Solomons.
DX exchanged glances both thinking the same thing, "I think we understand their relationship pretty well. Austin Theory is up to no good. If his intentions towards Carla were good, he would have come to me or Shawn about it. He's up to something and I want all of us to be on high alert where Austin Theory is concerned," Hunter said and Faith Star shook her head in disagreement.
"You said the same thing about Uncle Seth and Aunty Sasha," she said.
"And look at them now Faith Star, they are being pulled into the McMahon family and away from us. The same thing could happen with Carla and Austin," Hunter explained to his seven year-old granddaughter. "Just like Seth didn't come to me when he decided to marry Sasha, Austin definitely should have made his intentions known way before he proposed to her. Shawn and I may be old but we have been around this business for a long time and we can stop the trouble-makers a way off,"
"Are you calling Uncle Seth a trouble maker Granddad?" Faith Star asked Triple H who sighed.
"For as long as I've known him, Seth has always followed his heart. I just wish he had come to me before he decided to marry a woman like Sasha, a woman he could not possibly keep happy, especially now that she knows her true worth. He's gonna have to become a completely different person to keep her happy and it won't be a good marriage. Maybe I could have talked him out of it but its too late now, Seth's gone to the dark side with the woman he loves. Maybe if we stop them, we can prevent Carla from making the same mistake," Hunter said and Lita's face tightened.
"I don't think Seth made a mistake by falling in love with Sasha Banks," she said and Hunter laughed at her, "You can laugh Hunter but don't forget how hard it was for me and Shawn in the beginning. We had to fight to be together and its no different to what Seth's doing now. He's fighting for the woman he loves,"
"Well it's a fight he's going to lose, trust me Big Red, Sasha does not love Seth, all Sasha loves is herself," Hunter said and ATM exchanges glances.
"That's not True," Trish said, "and I'm "The Truth" Trish Stratus, so I can't be wrong about this. There's more to Sasha then you're giving her credit for Hunter. Maybe you're blinded by her being a McMahon and you've forgotten how much you adored Sasha Banks when she first came to the business. While Seth loves everything about her, both good and bad, you only like who you thought she was. Seth's love for Sasha is unconditional,"
"While she will only let him stay married to her if he breaks off all communication with us and the God Girls, how hypocritical is that! That's not love, that's the mentality of a power-hungry jerk!" Hunter said.
"Faith Star's right Hunter; it might look that way to you but to them, this is love and like Amy and Melina, I believe that it will work out for them both," Trish said and Hunter scoffed while Shawn thought deeply about Trish's words, taking great comfort in them. After all, it was Shawn and Amy that encouraged Seth to ask Sasha out in the first place, along with Roman the year before. He wanted it to work out for them both and he kissed Amy fondly.
"If it worked for us, after all the Hell had to go through, it'll work for them. I believe in Seth and Sasha, even if my more cynical Bonehead of a partner doesn't," Shawn said knowing it would take a lot for Hunter to come around.
"You're all love-sick fools, love is supposed to be fun and reciprocal, until I see one gesture of unselfishness from Sasha, nothing you God-loving morons is gonna change my mind about it," Hunter declared stubbornly as Shawn and Amy kissed and Faith Star shared a hi-five with Trish and Melina.
"Don't give my granddaughter any ideas, I don't her falling in love with a jerk when she gets old enough. I'm gonna pick out Faith Star's husband myself, that will ensure she marries well like me," Hunter said looking around for Joanie who was upstairs in their bedroom.
While Cameron and LC shuddered at the idea of Hunter arranging their only daughter's marriage, they did like the idea of Faith Star being so wise at such a young age.
"God has given you such wisdom Faith Star, you know what true love is," Cameron said to his daughter proudly.
"Of course I do Daddy, I see it everyday with you and Mommy," Faith Star replied and LC blushed while Cameron pulled her in for a sweet kiss proving that their daughter was right as was the example that the DX family was setting for all their children.
