Hey everyone, welcome to day 13 of the Hart of Dixie countdown to Christmas!

Enjoy!

When they came back to themselves, they quickly broke apart. Wade noticed the red tint on Zoe's cheeks. She gave him a soft smile and quickly hurried from the room. Wade licked his lips, a small smirk on his face as he casually walked out of the room. He figured he'd give Zoe the privacy she wants, he headed in the opposite direction to a set of stairs. He didn't know Zoe was going to kiss his cheek, he was going to tell her something, now he can't recall what that is.

Grumbling to himself, he turned around and headed to the little gift shop, hoping that his brother wasn't there, or whoever his brother had in bed with him this morning. He doesn't want things to be that awkward between them. Jesse can do as he pleases, he doesn't care, but when it starts to involve him like this morning, well, his brother needs to lay off on whatever he is trying to prove.

He quickly relaxes seeing that it's a guy behind the counter, and the gift shop is empty of any customers. Looking around, he realizes that he doesn't know what it is that Zoe would like as a gift. He's not going to waste a gift on her with overpriced candy, or a stupid little magnet. The little knick-knacks didn't scream Zoe to him. He was ready to give up and venture out into the cold to some of the smaller shops to find something for Zoe when the jewelry section caught his eye.

He didn't know the appropriate amount to spend on Zoe, having only known her for a few days. He did know that he wasn't going to spend all the money in his pocket, so all the expensive jewelry was out of the question. He does know that he doesn't need to buy her anything, and it has nothing to do with the kiss, albeit a short kiss they shared. He wanted to get a gift to show her that the few days they spent together meant something to him. Given more time they might have been able to be friends.

One more look over the jewelry in front of him, he weighed his choices over. He wasn't sure any of the necklaces screamed Zoe, or at least the Zoe he had the privilege of getting to know. He couldn't recall if she had her ears pierced or not, so earrings were out of the question. He didn't know what size ring to get, and he didn't want to get the wrong size ring. A few of the bracelets were gaudy and overpriced by a great deal.

It wasn't until he was ready to give up once again that he found a blue beaded bracelet. He couldn't name the gemstone it was supposed to be. The tag for the bracelet said it was topaz, the gemstone for friendship. He figured Zoe would like the sentimental value behind the bracelet if nothing else.

With the bag in hand, he headed to the front desk in the lobby. They hadn't told each other their room numbers, so he doesn't know how he is going to get the gift to Zoe. If anything he will wait all day in the lobby until she appears on her way out if that is what he has to do.

"I'm sorry, but I can not tell you the room Miss Hart is in," the man behind the desk said. His name tag tells Wade his name is Ted.

"I know it's against the resort's policy, and I don't want to break that policy, but I do need to know what room she is in," Wade sighed.

"I'm sorry," Ted told him, getting back to work.

"Isn't there anything you can do to help me?" Wade asked with a pleading voice. "She's leaving, and I need to give her this Christmas gift," he tried hoping the sorrow in his voice would help him in getting the floor she's staying on if anything else.

"There isn't anything I can do to help you, I'm sorry," Ted told him, not moving his stance on handing out guests' room numbers. "Have a good day," Ted nodded, walking off.

Wade's sure he logged out of his computer, not that Wade would go snooping around like that. He doesn't need his parents mad at him over something like that. Nor does he want to end up at the police station, or juvie in Colorado for that measure. Sighing Wade found a spot in the lobby to take up residency to wait on Zoe to appear.

"Better clear your schedule we have a mega fun day ahead of us spending every last minute with mom and dad," Jesse said, dropping into the chair next to him, roughly an hour later.

"Can't busy," he stated, keeping his focus on the elevator, not wanting to risk missing Zoe.

"Have a hot date with your girlfriend?" Jesse teased.

"She's not my girlfriend," Wade muttered, wanting his brother to leave him alone. He'd much rather sit by himself waiting for Zoe to show up than deal with his brother. "If you want the rents to stay off your ass, I'd stop bringing strange women back to the room," he told his brother, not wanting to hear what else he could possibly come up with about his friendship with Zoe.

"It's not like we did anything when you were in the room," Jesse smirked. "If you need to know, she forgot her key card, and the front desk was closed, and I wasn't about to leave her in the hallway all night," he explained to Wade.

"Didn't need to know any of that," Wade told him. "When you decide to get serious about someone then I want to know, but your little hook-ups, nope don't need to know those," he quipped out seeing their parents heading in their direction.

"Not anytime soon little brother," Jesse quipped out with a smirk, standing up. "Wade has other plans for the day," Jesse relayed to Earl and Jackie.

Wade shook his head, getting up. Leave it to Jesse to put all the attention on him when that's the last thing he wanted right now. Seeing the looks on his parent's faces, there was no way of escaping this family meal, he didn't even need to hear the words from either one of his parents.

"I don't have any plans for the day," Wade spoke up. It is the truth, from here on out, his days are wide open until they head home.

"Good, otherwise you'd have to cancel them, we are going to go have a nice family outing complete with family dinner," Earl stated, leaving no room for Wade or Jesse to argue over the plans their parents had made that morning.

"I just need to drop something off, and go get my coat," he told his parents, heading straight to the reception desk.

"Back again, huh?" Ted asked, looking over the rim of glasses he was now wearing. "I still can't give you that information," he informed Wade.

"That's not what I want," Wade told him, placing the gift bag on the desk. "Can you give this to Zoe Hart when she comes down?" He asked.

"That is something that I can do," Ted nodded, taking the bag and placing it under the desk. "Have a good day," Ted smiled, ignoring Wade.

Slightly shaking his head, he made his way up to his room to grab his coat to go and have a fun-filled day with his family. He wasn't in any hurry to get to his room, or back to his parents, since he'd be spending his day with them. If anything, it was going to keep his mind off of Zoe and the kiss they had shared, without meaning to share.
