A/N: Apologies for the long backstory, but I felt it was needed in order to begin the story.

A Kingdom in Disarray

The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers were the first set of heroes scouted by Zordon in the 20th century. For many years, Power Rangers have protected universes, drawing their strength from a mystical force possessed by the magical power grid on an almost mythological galaxy known as the Power Kingdom. Zordon was once a fighting Power Ranger himself before he was forced into a tank in order to stay alive. The Power Kingdom was protected by fierce rangers and had a loyal monarchy that was loathed by its enemies.

The Power Kingdom had a moment of peace in which their princess, also known as the Prism Ranger, settled into a mundane life where she happily lived with her new husband on earth. Her name was Princess Roselda, but upon becoming a regular citizen of Angel Grove, she was known as simply Rose Trueman. She is the wife of rising political candidate Jaime Trueman and the mother of their infant daughter Emmalee Trueman.

When the Power Kingdom was attacked by treacherous monsters, Rose was forced to return to her home planet and defend the grid with the help of the neighboring galaxy of power King and Queen of the Kingdom perished and instantly thrust Rose into the most important role of her life! But it didn't just mean she was now queen; it meant her husband was now king. Though kings outrank queens, that rule did not apply to Rose and Jaime. Only the natural-born heir to the throne, whether female or male, would automatically outrank their counterpart. Jaime knew about Rose's real identity and kept it a secret, never imagining how it would quickly change their lives. He was briefed by a guardian named Dimitria on the events in which his wife was valiantly fighting. On a dark day, Queen Rose was killed in action, sending the rangers and kingdom into further disarray. But she did not die in vain; her efforts, alongside those of her fellow rangers, brought victory to the morphing grid. Lives were lost, and a new era of healing and peace began. Upon the Queen's passing, Dimitria was to take the mantle of Queen Regent, whilst Zordon was instructed to look after Earth, as Jaime's memories of Rose were altered to allow him to continue living a normal life without the knowledge of the Power Rangers or the Power Kingdom and the role he still played as the now-dormant King Regent. In his new set of memories, Rose sadly passed away in a tragic car accident, leaving him to raise their young daughter on his own.

Aftermath

Following the events after Rose's passing, Jaime continued to pursue a career in politics, eventually becoming the longest-reigning Mayor of Angel Grove. After his tenure, he followed up by becoming chairman of NASADA. The Trueman's were well known and esteemed in Angel Grove. Princess Emmalee, or just Emma, had grown to be a vivacious and gentle young girl. She made friendships with a couple of teenagers who would lead her to a past and world no one could have imagined. First, it was Jason, Kimberly, Trini, Zack, Billy, and Tommy. They had become the family she didn't have since her relationship with Jaime was estranged. Emma had a special bond with Tommy, whom she regarded as a teens included Emma in most of their activities since they were aware her home life wasn't as great as it was portrayed to the public by Mr. Trueman. Emma supported and trained the teens when they became Power Rangers! The shock turned into admiration and inspiration, and she too wanted to be a power ranger one day. As the seasons changed, so did the Power Rangers, and the baton passed from one to the other. Emma's magical powers, passed on by her mother and given by the power grid, were developing. Thus Zordon explained to Emma the truth about the Power Rangers, her mother, and her connection to them all.

The knowledge of being a princess of some mystical force and kingdom was fascinating! Sworn into secrecy, she was given an honorary role as the purple Turbo Power Ranger! She fought with the new set of Turbo Rangers, consisting of her friends Ashley, Cassie, T.J. (who became like a brother to her), Carlos, and Justin.

During her early tenure as a power ranger, she'd fallen in love with her high school sweetheart, Max Connors. They were smitten and in love. Emma never told him about her secret identity because she didn't see any harm in doing so... until tragedy struck the young princess again. During an attack on Angel Grove orchestrated by the wicked Divatox, Max was tragically wounded, and despite Emma's and the rangers' efforts to save him, it was too late. Emma was devastated and closed herself off, blaming herself for her boyfriend's death.

Emma's magical powers grew stronger as she sank deeper into her grief, and she spiraled out of control. Jaime and Emma's stepmother, Francine, couldn't figure out how to help her. Mind you, they remained unaware of Emma's identity as a power ranger, let alone that she was Princess of the Morphing Grid. Zordon was on a quest, and things were about to get complicated for him; as a result, Dimitria stepped in, and it had be decided in Emma's best interest, she would begin a different type of training that would require her to leave Earth until she was able to control her power. Jaime's and Francine's minds would once again be altered so Emma could begin her training in a foreign galaxy.

Present

Emma's nineteenth birthday was around the corner, a perfect time to return to earth and spend the day with her father. Throughout her training she was allowed to visit and vacation on Earth for brief periods; according to her father's altered memory, she was in school abroad somewhere in Europe. Emma met Andros and Zane through the Turbo and now Space too became friends, and she felt a connection with Andros, mainly through their shared experience with tragedy and loss. But the young princess remained closed off; she was afraid to get close to people. Being the "Power Ranger Princess" came with a delicate responsibility she often doubted she was worthy of. But just as she was to leave for a holiday, she was sent on a mission that would change the course of her life.

"Galaxy Rangers?" Emma questioned Dimitria.

After the battle of Angel Grove and Zordon's valiant sacrifice to save Earth and all universes, the galaxy and power kingdom were in disarray.

"Yes, Princess. Galaxy Power Rangers." Dimitria dismissed Emma's huff. Emma disliked being addressed by her title because it reminded her of her guilt over not saving Max."They have lost their original red ranger." "They need your guidance, Emmalee!"

"My guidance?" Emma scoffed, but upon hearing Dimitria raise her voice, she relented and sighed. "Where are you sending me?"

"Terra Venture, your highness. A space colony." Dimitria understood Emma's reluctance and didn't judge her because she knew deep down the princess had a lot of fight in her. She was convinced Emma would overcome her inner turmoil and flourish.

"Alright." Emma paused on her way out of the command center. "Dim, how well versed are these rangers?"

"Alpha will take care of that." The guardian replied.

"So they know about me?" not just Trueman's daughter?" Emma fidgeted.

"Yes, your highness. They know you are their prin-"

"Okay, I got it." Emma cuts her off before she can complete the word. "Dimitria..if I need you—"

"I will be there, Princess." Behind her veil, Dimitria smiled.

Emma smiled softly. The urge to throw her arms around her guardian and be embraced was brushed away as thoughts of Max surfaced.

"One more thing, your highness." Dimitria conjured a new morpher for the young princess. The prism ranger morpher

Emma's breath hitched and she gave Dimitria an anxious head shake in response, for she knew exactly what that new morpher represented—what it really meant—and she was not ready to accept that.

"Shift into turbo!"
