Christmas Advent
Chapter 3-December 3rd
As commanded, Mike went and got a Christmas tree. He actually took Frankie to help him select the perfect one. Danny was on a mission and Frankie was needing some attention from a male role model. Mike had always been happy to fulfill that role, because of how badly he missed his own kids. Kara had needed a break and Mike had begged to keep him for the day.
When he got back home from dropping Frankie back off; he unloaded the tree and carried it in. He sat it up in his front window and put the provided tree topper on. On his doorstep, he had found a smaller package. He pulled out a long string of cranberries and popcorn and immediately smiled. It had been a tradition that Mike had carried from his own childhood, when they were too poor to have traditional lights or tinsel. In the package; was another note.
"You've got your tree, your topper, and the cranberry and popcorn string. Hold off on getting ornaments, because you will be receiving some of those. Enjoy your tree."
The note confused Mike, but he put the cranberries and popcorn on his tree and grabbed a cup of coffee. It did feel good to have the tree up and the packages were something to look forward to. He did wish that whoever was leaving the gifts would leave more cookies.
