Note: Merry Christmas!

A difficult case had wrapped up for the team, and when he was about to leave, Hetty asked him to have a drink with her.

'Shouldn't you be happy, Mr. Callen? The criminal is going to jail for a long time, all because of you. Unless there's something else on your mind?' Hetty kindly asked.

'He was a father, a bad one. And because of his actions, an innocent 7 year old is going to end up in the system. And unlike myself, he doesn't have a guardian angel of sorts to look after him.' Callen replied.

'I appreciate your reference. But it's a cruel world. We can only do the best we can, unfortunately.'

'I wish there was something more I could do for him.'

'Well, maybe there is. I'm sure you can think of something nice.' Hetty said.

Sure enough, Callen thought of something. He called in a favor to an old friend, and he agreed to look after the kid until a new home could be provided for him.

'I'm proud of you, Mr. Callen.' Hetty said when she heard.

'Thank you. It was the least I could do. Hopefully, the poor kid can 1 day move past his father's crimes.' Callen replied.

'I hope so too. Dealing with a parent being a criminal can be very tough. I know from experience.'

Callen looked intrigued.

'Oh, that's a story from another day.' Hetty finished.
