"That is not an advent calendar."

"It has four and twenty different sections; it is one."

"You philistine. A calendar is made of cardboard, not… whatever that is."

"It is made of cardboard. Just because the cardboard happens to contain small presents doesn't make it a non-calendar."

"A real calendar is two pieces of cardboard, one with perforated flaps." Nami slapped her hand down on her own calendar, a beautifully painted snowy scene with children sleighing down a snow-covered mountain, the spruces decked out in holiday finery and a ludicrous number of animals depicted in hats and scarves. "The cardboard below should only contain small paintings, or maybe a rhyme! Not- not different kinds of whiskies from the Blues."

Law merely sighed as he opened the day's doors, revealing a nice oak-aged single malt. "It's funny how the ones who adopted the custom are the ones who keep most true to the original form, don't you think?"

"I don't care if the advent calendar came from the North Blue. We in the East are obviously better suited to tend traditions," said Nami as she tenderly teased open the day's flap, revealing a small mouse in a red cap.

"Might I remind you that you also have a den den-version, which is a far cry form traditional advent calendar. And I would really appreciate if you didn't tune in to it quite so early in the morning."

"That's different! It's traditional. Like the cardboard advent calendar," Nami huffed as she placed her calendar back on it's rightful spot on the wall, newly revealed picture bright and shiny.

"It might be traditional to listen to a show on the den den mushi, but I don't want the tradition to start at the crack of dawn."
