I was busy in the corner decorating a Christmas tree as Jason; Trini; Zach, Kimberly; and Billy sat at a nearby table in the Youth Center. I reached a little too high and started to fall off the step-ladder. I didn't see the guy in the white tank-top until his arms were around me. I clung to him as I regained my footing.
"You should be more careful."
"Yeah...thank you..."
"Hey Tommy." The man with his arms around me turned his attention to Jason,"What are you doing with my sister?"
"Sister?"
"Whatever he wants actually." I told Jason.
"Aubrey." Jason sighed.
"Well, it isn't like you were going to catch me."
Tommy put me down.
"If I had to rely only on you I would be on the floor, maybe hurt."
At that moment, I heard his alarm go off, "What kind of alarm is that?"
"That new movie at the multiplex is starting soon."
"Uh-huh." I said not convinced of his excuse.
Be more careful."
"Aye, Aye Dad."
Jason turned giving me a harsh look, "Not funny, Aubrey."
"I'll just have to try harder then."
Tommy gave me a sheepish wave.
I vowed right then to make Tommy mine.
