Nami tried in vain to hide a snort of laughter as she ducked behind the kitchen door, narrowly avoiding a flying arc of glazing.
"Leave my masterpieces be!" Usopp stood in defensive position in front of his tray, decorating set held threateningly aloft. His suspicious eyes flicked from side to side, trying to keep his two enemies in sight.
A giggling Chopper cowered behind the other counter, trying to aim between two tall gingerbread houses; one expertly decorated and the other half-arsedly glued together, the sugar forming blackened clumps along the seams and gumdrop buttons askew.
Luffy tried to distract him by quick darts from one side of the room to the other, but Usopp's sniper reflexes were too quick; every time Luffy moved, he was met with a splatter of bright pink glazing in his face. The sugary confection dappled Chopper's horns and Nami didn't even want to think about what utter kittens Sanji would have when he saw what had happened to his kitchen.
"It's a bit unfortunate that he hasn't noticed that his gingerbread house is gone," she said, turning towards Law who was lazing in a deck chair on the Sunny, hat drawn down over his eyes. Law merely hummed, lifting the brim to peek at Nami, a lazy grin stretching across his face.
"It was very well done. I didn't want it to get damaged in the excitement."
"One horrible pirate you are," Nami said with a laugh as an almighty crash reverberated from the kitchen, Choppers peals of laughter a counterpoint to the bass of Usopp's and Luffy's scuffle. "I'm sure they will all will be thankful once they recover from Sanji's dressing-down for destroying his kitchen."
"They'll live."
