The Guardians were surrounding a crystal. That crystal is used by their old friend, Man in the Moon, to choose a new guardian. They were excited to gain a new team mate. Well, Bunnymund was a bit insulted by this. He does not think they need help. But he still hopes it is not the ground hog. Toothiana's fairies were bugged by his mumbling, though they wondered what had happened between these two.

Toothiana spoke, "Maybe it is the second Pooka we heard rumors about? This Jokul?"

Sandy nodded in silent agreement. He would like if Jack joins up. Bunnymund on the other hand replied, "I don't believe these rumors are true. At most, it was one of Hollow's illusions, or even one of the Death-lings. They love to play with people's sufferings. Which includes cruel illusions like those." He clinged a watch hidden in his fur. Sandy saw it but didn't mention it.

Sandy rolled his eyes. Bunnymund's hate for the Death-lings. On the other hand, he sometimes wonders what spirits Bunny doesn't hate. He can't think of any outside of the guardians.

The crystal glowed before showing Jack Frost.

While Sandy and Toothiana were happy about this, especially Sandy, Bunnymund cursed up a storm. He said Jack could never be a guardian.

"From all spirits, this nuisance! The groundhog would be better! Mythra, the spirit of myths and secrets would be a better choice!", complained Bunnymund. "The only spirit worse than Frost would be a Death-ling! Well, or Pitch himself."

"Oh, give him a chance!", 'said' Sandy, but Bunny didn't see his signs. He was too busy to argue. Sandy then had an idea. But to tell them his idea, he needed to get their attention. Sandy grabbed one of North's elves and shook it.

"Yes, Sandy?", asked the elves boss.

Sandy flashed his sand symbols and Bunny translates, "He wants to pick up Jack. Do you think you can do this, Sandy?" Sandy nodded energetic, 'saying', "If I couldn't, I won't offer to do this."

"Fine, but if ya need help, ask one of us.", agreed Bunny.

Jack watched a boy called Jamie rushing though the city of Burgess. He may or may not had overdone the ice this time and tries to save him or at least minimize the damage on Jamie.

The only really damage on Jamie was a tooth that fell out. This resulted in Jamie and his friends talking about the tooth fairy.

Jack listened to their discussion, a bit insulted, but busy thinking, "If I think about it, collecting teeth is creepy. Why does she do this?" The more he thought about it, the lesser he wanted to know.

He continued to fly though Burgess when he flew into a cloud. Wouldn't be weird nor a problem if it was a normal cloud, it was a cloud made from golden sand, belonging to Sandy. Jack flew out of the cloud and dusted off the gold, but some still stuck on him, especially in his hair.

"Oh moonlight, I won't get this out for at least a week.", Jack whined, "Wait a minute, Sandy, why are you here? At day time. Not to mention, I saw a North light, isn't that the Guardian call?"

Sandy nodded and then signed, "Yes. Man in the Moon choose a new guardian and I am tasked to bring said new guardian to the pole."

"Oh? Who did he choose? Mythra? Children tend to keep secrets... though this is more an aspect of teenager hood, right?", asked Jack, a bit curious.

"He choose you.", announced Sandy with his symbols.

Jack was very surprised with this. "Me? But I'm not guardian material. And I have nothing to do with children!"

"I see you play with them rather often.", countered Sandy, "You often create snow days for them."

"But, Sandy. I can't! I just-"

"I know you think this isn't your cup of tea, but we need your help. Pitch Black returned.", pleaded Sandy, "I ask you as your friend to help us with the nightmare King. If you want to be a guardian afterwards is your choice, but please help us."

"I... fine. But don't expect me to reveal my secret to them."

"I would never."

Instead of a flight that may take hours, Jack just turned into his 'Snow Pooka' form and created a tunnel. Both jumped though it, coming out right in front of the Work shop. Back in Burgess, there where the tunnel was, was an ice patch. Jack turned back, and they walked in. They were greeted by Phil, a Yeti. Though he is annoyed with Jack, he has a soft spot for the weird spirit.

"Hey Phil, how's your wife?"

Phil muttered about his mate being bossy, not noting that he walked into a wall.

Sandy and Jack arrived at the other Guardians, who where in the middle of decorating the room. A mini fairy noted them, and informed her mother.

"Oh Sandy! I did not expect you to return so soon with Jack!', she said, before approaching Jack and looking at his teeth, "Oh, they are as white as snow." Some of her fairies agreed.

And with that, Jack just became even more weirded out by the tooth fairy. Sandy silently laughed at his reaction, but h isn't surprised. She tents to be intensive to other spirits.

"Welcome, Jack Frost!", greeted him North.

"Greetings, North. Now, Sandy told me, well, symbolized me I was chosen as a guardian?", said Jack, "About that. I'm not guardian material, but if Man in the Moon choose me, I help you with Pitch Black, but nothing more."

Bunny wanted to say they don't need his help, but his attention was on the pocket watch Jack was wearing around his neck. Instead he just said Jack's statement was okay. North and Toothiana were a bit bothered with this sentiment and not very happy that Bunny and Sandy just accepted this. Toothiana flew to North and told him, "Don't argue, he will chance his mind while we do something against Pitch."

Unbeknownst to them, Jack and Bunny heard them whisper to each other. Pooka have good hearing, Jack even in his human form. Though, his hearing isn't as good in that form compared to the Pooka, but still better than average spirit hearing.

Bunny still was eyeing the watch, wondering where Jack got it from and how? The more he thought about it, is Jack aware of its origins?

"I doubt. I will only help with Pitch and that's it.", replied jack, surprising the guardians that he heard this. "I'm not a guardian, this will be a one time thing."

"Nyet, I just think you need a closer look into yourself!", claimed North, before he dragged Jack into a room.

Jack was taken by surprise by this, but mostly he was worried. Worried that stuff like this would break his glamour illusion.

North then pushed Jack against a wall and asked in a threatening tone, "Who are you really?"

Jack's thoughts of course wandered to his glamour. Not that he had an idea how North would know about this. He doubts, or at least he hopes Sandy didn't tell them. Jack couldn't answer.

North then let go, "Oh, you not know what I mean!"

He fetched a little Matryoshka doll from a shelf. He started to open the wood doll up.

"On the outside, I'm imitating. But in my inner, I'm jolly.", said North. He revealed the core doll. "My core is wonder. The wonder I give each child when they are about to open their Christmas presents. What is your core?"

'Oh, he means this.', he thought. But, "I don't know.", he said.

While this happened, they were watched by Bunny. He was still curious about Jack's watch. He is sure it is a Pooka watch from his old home planet.

His home, a place that used to be important to him. Well, it still is, it just doesn't exist anymore. Which makes there watches the more important.

And they seem to be important to Jack as well. He fiddles with his own watch while North talked to him.

He continued watching Jack, he picked up that Jack was irritated by something.

He then heard it too, the elves were running around.

They checked why and discovered that Pitch was causing havoc, Tooth's Palace.

To Bunny's annoyance, North got the sleigh ready. He would prefer his tunnels. He saw Jack was, to his surprise, not really interested in the sleigh either. He looked a bit worried, but he still got it. He looked curious. Like someone checking out a horror movie, knowing full well they will be scared. Like they anticipate the scare.

The sleigh started to move and Bunny tucked his claws into the wood. Jack just sat there and laughed at Sandy who enjoyed the speed. And with that, they flew off to Toothiana's palace.

AN: I just realized the chapter title. I did not mean to refer Star Wars, lol!

If you wonder why this Jack is a bit scared of the sleigh, but not as strongly as Bunny, let me explain. Both are used to the tunnels, they aren't really fans of flying.

But Jack is also used to fly, and is often preferring it due to his job and Wind. It also is his element.

Even though it is still flight, Jack would prefer his wind flying as it is under his control... partly.

But he still decided on the sleigh, because curiosity. And he knows full well his flying speed won't catch up to the sleigh.

Fun fact: I own a Matryoshka. Hence calling it the proper term, instead of nesting doll.
