Christmas Advent
Chapter 12-December 12th
Mike's house was mostly renovated. He spent Monday morning finishing up the last bit of trim in the upstairs bedrooms and made a list of what all he needed. He needed furniture for three bedrooms, and linens for all three bedrooms and for a bathroom. He also needed to paint and decorate; not his forte. So; his first call was Sasha and Kara. He had taken another day off work and thankfully; Kara answered on the second ring.
She agreed to help and was free that afternoon. When she pulled up to the home décor store; Sasha and Azima both got out the car. Mike most have looked confused, so Kara spoke up. "It'll take us less time if we divide and conquer."
Mike agreed and the next two hours was whirl. There wasn't much for Mike to do other than pay the bill and he took the three women out for lunch as a thank you. Once he finished with the painting; they were willing to come in and help set it all up and furniture would be delivered the next day. Mike just hoped he wasn't spending money wastefully. By the time he got home; he knew he had a long night in front of him and he had already planned on not working the next day. And of course; there was a package and a note waiting on him.
"No need to buy presents. Eat a good dinner. Its not been sitting long."
Inside the package; there was a to go plate with roast beef, mashed potatoes and creamy corn as well as another container of apple pie. Mike warmed it up and savored every bite. It was like whoever was leaving the items for him knew that he was craving a home-cooked meal. Once he finished; he began painting projects.
