Author's Notes: When it comes to the blank period era, I'm writing a fic series that's revolved around Naruto and Hinata's relationship after The Last: Naruto The Movie. I was gonna showcase this story after NH Month ended, but the I thought this would be so fitting to share as the prompt for today. Personally, I'd read this after rewatching The Last, but who knows maybe it'll inspire you to watch the movie again because that's exactly I'm what gonna do here shortly.
Moonlit Butterfly
It was a matter of seconds after Toneri was defeated on the moon, Hinata and I walked through the portal hand in hand as the passageway began to disintegrate. She almost slipped along the way until I caught her in my arms.
"What are you doing?" Hinata asked calmly.
I smiled, "Hold on tight!"
She nodded, "Okay." with arms wrapped around my neck before her gaze went towards disintegrated ground.
"Don't let go alright!" I reassured her.
"Alright." Hinata rested her head on my chest, "I'll never ever let go!"
That was when I formed a rasengan in my left hand to fly us out of the cave and directed straight into the ceiling as Shikamaru, who stood by Sai, Sakura and Hinata's little sister Hanabi as she said, "Big sister!"
Shikamaru yelled, "Naruto.. You're gonna crash into the ceiling."
"Yeah right I'm not stopping there!" as I continued towards the ceiling up to the sky where Hinata and I drifted apart for a brief instance before our hands met once more. Our eyes locked on one another with the moon in front of us. "Hinata."
"Naruto." she said tenderly as we both leaned in for our first kiss.
How fortunate was I to have spent this moment with the most beautiful woman in the world? Honestly, I was such an idiot to have never given a thought when she risked her life to protect mine when Nagato destroyed the village. No! None of that matters anymore! I just wanted this moment with Hinata to last a little longer before our feet touched the surface again.
Once we slowly made our way back to the ground, the others had finally caught up to us still kissing without an ounce of hesitation.
"Yeesh, get a room! Nobody wants to see PDA." Hanabi stated bluntly.
Hinata broke off our kiss with a giggle, "Oh.."
I raised an eyebrow in confusion, "PD- what now?"
Sakura smacked her forehead, "Oh for the love.." and punched me in the head.
"Oww, what the hell Sakura? I just asked about that something.. Ummm I think it was PDC.. No not that it might've been PDK.. I think."
Sakura groaned, "PDA, you idiot! public display of affection" and smooched her two hands in the center, "the thing you & Hinata were doing just now."
"Oh so that's what it means." I scratched my head embarrassingly.
"How are you this dense?" Sakura sighed with her head down.
Sai happily said, "True, but it did apply for some great research material!"
"Man what a drag..." Shikamaru answered unenthusiastically.
Sakura continued, "Sometimes I don't get you, Sai, and more importantly..." she pointed directly at me, "Naruto what in the world were you thinking?"
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Flying off into the sky like that while Hinata was holding onto you I mean how insensitive could you honestly be? The poor girl might've fallen." Sakura scowled with her hand clutched onto my black shirt.
"But I'm completely fine Sakura.. There's nothing to worry about!" Hinata answered, waving her hands around.
"Oh alright then, I'll let you off the hook for this one!" Sakura continued and grinned, "After all she is now the Byakugan Princess."
"I.. I'm pretty sure that's a bit of an exaggeration." Hinata said, timidly.
Sakura joked and tapped her shoulder, "Naah, you deserve it."
"Actually I..." Hinata bowed her head to everyone, "I have a confession to make..."
My eyes lit up in shock, "What happened... Did that bastard Toneri do something else to you besides being a lifeless doll under his control?"
She shakes her head fiercely, "No nothing like that Naruto. It's something else..."
Hanabi asked curiously, "Well what is it, big sister?"
"The truth is I also didn't know what PDA meant either!" Hinata admitted.
"WHAT! YOU TOO!" Everyone yelled with their jaws dropped.
I couldn't help but smile while holding her hand, "Guess we're more perfect for each other then we realized huh, Hinata?"
She smiled tenderly at me, "You could say that again."
Shortly after...
We made our way back to The Hidden Leaf Village and gave the report to Kakashi Sensei who was now known as The Sixth Hokage. When that was taken care of Sakura, Sai, and Shikamaru went back to their respective places for the night. I could've also walked back to my apartment room until Sakura's words from Ichiraku echoed into my ear.
"Walk her home."
"Hey Hinata, do you mind if I walk you and your sister back to the Hyuga clan?" I asked.
She shakes her head gracefully, "Not at all." with her arm wrapped around mine.
By the time we reached the doorstep, Hanabi had quickly walked back inside the house. I could tell Hinata wasn't gonna let go of my hand, but had to since the mission to save Hanabi was fulfilled. I watched her walk slowly before she came to a stop at the door.
"N-Naruto..." Hinata said, quietly.
"Yeah, wh..." before I could finish my sentence, Hinata dashed back with her arms in the air and kissed me.
"I love you!" Our gaze met once more.
"I love you too!" My hands wrapped around her waist before our lips locked once more.
In celebration NH Month 2022 Day 5, I hope everyone got to enjoy this little short story that came into my mind immediately after Naruto and Hinata's first kiss with the moon. There was definitely a lot of stuff that was going through my mind while I was writing this out and it really does makes me a lot of joy and happiness. I mean it has to be said, The Last: Naruto The Movie came back into my life when I was in a somber stated of mind and sadness with my family, and of course my love and appreciation for NaruHina. Along with the my rewatch of the anime, this movie really made me fall in love wth Naruto and Hinata's relationship. Talking about all of this has gotten me into a mood to rewatching the move again, and I'm gonna do that soon. Happy 8 Year Anniversary to The Last Naruto The Movie, a love story that brought me so much comfort. Also like I said, this is technically a preview for a story fic I'm planning on sharing sometime after NH Month 2022. For the time being, that is pretty much all I've gotta say about this particular story and I will see you guys really soon. Until then everyone, I hope everyone has a great day, or night, and as always thank you all so much for reading everyone!
