Author's Notes: I had recently been thinking about all the moments that happened within the series, and this one just resonated with me in a few different ways. You'll all know exactly what I'm referring to with this particular story between Naruto and Hinata.
Neo-Leaf
It was hard to imagine how much time passed since that fateful day, and so much has happened for Naruto, The Hero of The 4th Great Ninja War, and Hinata, The Byakugan Princess. They both had overcome their respective trials and tribulations in many ways. They had been present in each other's life during the lowest points in their lives. When each one believed there was honestly no hope left. However, it just wasn't the case at all in the slightest due to a simple outcome where each of them gave the other the courage that was necessary to have pressed on till the bitter end. The results of those events had come with a tragic fate of someone who meant dear to them. A single person that had bridged the foundation of their everlasting bond. A bond that transcended from more than just mere friendship. One that eventually blossomed into love between the two shinobi. It was for that very reason alone why they had decided to have visited the memorial site of the fallen heroes. Naruto Uzumaki stood by the side of his beloved wife Hinata Hyuga-Uzumaki. Both were dressed in the same color scheme. Naruto had worn a black shirt and sweats. Hinata wore a black color dress. The two heroes who saved Earth from The Moon's destruction stood at the grave site. His grave site in a moment of silence. The wind breezed between both of them while they held each other's hand tightly.
Hinata sniffled, "Big brother Neji..." tears streamed from her eyes.
"Neji..." Naruto answered calmly in solemn, "I still find it hard to believe you're gone... Even though a few years had passed since the war..."
"So much has happened since then, and..." Hinata wiped the tears from her eyes, "I wish you'd still be here today with this..."
Naruto nodded, "The world took you away and I had no doubt there would've been so much more that happened with your efforts." as a shed of tear fell from his eye, "But you probably already knew that..."
Hinata answered with a solemn smile, "Because you were a genius, nobody could deny this fact about you Neji, and we hope..."
"We hope to promise that your legacy continues to live on..." He continued with his gaze towards the sadness in Hinata's eyes momentarily.
"A new leaf has begun to bloom big brother..." Hinata smiled endearingly with her hand against her stomach, "And what we wanna say is..."
"We hope you could bless our new beginnings from the heavens..." Naruto answered with a smile as he moved his hand around his wife's shoulder.
Hinata comforted her husband in the moment at her cousin's memorial. We both know "You would've been very happy to hear that Naruto and I... That we're going to be parents in the near future."
I've been very honest when it came to my thought process behind each individual prompt for NH Month, and this one was obviously of no exception to that rule either. When I wrote the first short story for Day 1 of NH Month, I remember saying that the word count shouldn't dedicate how good a story is. A writer should tell what they wanna share in however many words they felt was necessary and this a similar scenario too when it comes to the beautiful relationship Naruto and Hinata share. For the time being, that is pretty much all I've gotta say about this particular story and I will see you guys really soon. Until then everyone, I hope everyone has a great day, or night, and as always thank you all so much for reading everyone!
