Author's Note: The weekend's about to come to an end, but it was only fitting that I wrapped it up with another short story in celebration of the ongoing NH Month 2022. All I'm gonna say is this one is definitely something a lot of us have headcanoned for a very long time especially wen it pertains to the Shippuden anime.
Eternal Vows
The day had finally arrived within The whole village where most of the civilians and shinobi were given the opportunity to have relaxed while certain people were given the clear to be on guard. Everyone from our graduating class had been present outside, and enjoyed each other's company. A lot of whispers and chatter had been going on when it came to certain individuals. It was something the two of us picked up on instantaneously once we boh walked out from the room together. Hand and hand. So big and strong yet also so comforting just like how that moment felt a few years ago. A strength that we both shared together when things weren't in our favor. It was a blessing that the two of us had pulled through on that horrific outcome. I knew that just like it felt that day and we fought on the moon against Toneri Otsutsuki... I needed you more than ever, Naruto. The awkwardness was one aspect we both felt together while we made our way along the stage, but it was something you and I concealed very well together. Once our footsteps made our way to the wooden stage we noticed Shizune alongside Lady Tsunade, and Kakashi Sensei. The person who stood right beside him was Iruka Sensei who helped walk us down the aisle. Had it been anyone else, I would've probably lost my composure instantly, but you were here. The only thing that mattered to me was your presence next to me. Deep down I knew that's how you also felt about my presence too, and of course how tight our hands clapped together.
"Are you both ready?" Shizune asked.
We exchanged a single glance and nodded, "Yes!"
The Hokage's assistant coughed, "Great..." and flipped the book, "Dearly beloved, we gather here today in this beautiful gathering to celebrate the wedding of Naruto Uzumaki, and Hinata Hyuga." and smiled happily, "Would you two please repeat the words I'm about to say to each of you?"
"Of course!"
Shizune nodded with her attention to Naruto, "Naruto, would you take Hinata Hyuga as not just a lover, but as a companion and someone you're willing to look after no matter how dire the situation of their health is. Until death, do you fulfill your promise?"
"Yes, I Naruto Uzumaki will always respect her, console her, cherish her, care for her, and continuously love her unconditionally until the day I die as my life partner." Naruto answered earnestly as his gaze focused toward me.
My eyes welled up by the words in his soothing tone as Shizune looked towards me, "Hinata, do you take Naruto as your eternal soulmate and someone you'd forever cherish, comfort and care during peaceful times. Until death, do you promise?"
I nodded happily with my gaze directed towards his beautiful blue eyes, "Yes, I Hinata Hyuga will forever take Naruto as someone I will forever cherish, comfort, care for, laugh with, and always love unconditionally until the day I day as my life partner."
Tears began to well up in Shizune as she closed the book, "Then I shall pronounce this couple husband and wife. Naruto and Hinata Uzumaki."
Various different applauses sounded off in all different directions from a lot of people that were present, but that wasn't what mattered in this moment. The only thing our eyes centered on was each other. Your arms wrapped around my waistline, and my arms swung around your neck. Our cheeks burned simultaneously for a moment as we leaned closer before they dimmed. The embrace you and I held around each other tightened when our lips finally locked. A moment we both wanted to last forever passionately for a little while longer.
While I was rewatching The Last, there were a few things that crossed my mind while the credits were rolling, and a lot of things that stood out to me about the imagery of it too. This was also something I really took into account once I decided to rewatch the wedding arc or the light novel that focused on the wedding preparations that led up to Naruto and Hinata's wedding. I had so many things that rushed through my mind while I was writing out, and a part felt as if I could've probably written it better than how it turned out. Ultimately, I just wanted to share my love and support for NaruHina as I've continued to do so up to now, and hopefully continously deliver on the wholesomeness. For the time being, that is pretty much all I've gotta say about this particular story and I will see you guys really soon. Until then everyone, I hope everyone has a great day, or night, and as always thank you all so much for reading everyone!
