Thanks to venysveu and anonymous on tumblr for the prompts that had to do with cuddles and celebrating christmas eve! Hope you enjoy :)

The night was still.

Four candles stood tall, securely locked into their holders on the desk.

The flickering light painted the cabin in a kaleidoscope of contradictions, deepening the shade in the nooks and lending a fleeting outline to the brass details on the writing desk. Paper tucked away into the appropriate drawers, pens lazily rolling around in their holder as the sea gently rocked the ship, lulling its inhabitants to sleep.

The clean smell of pine permeated the small space; a wreath of beautifully bent branches bating in the warm light, sharp needles cast into stark contrast before melting back into the shadows. Small silver bells woven into the creation chimed as the wreath moved in time with the ship, their voice almost lost in the rustle of branches rubbing against each other and the occasional spark form the candles.

A snow globe stood secured to one of the shelves. Within, miniature figures surrounded a small green tree, decorated with bright baubles and a star on top. Occasionally the occasional larger swell rocked the boat and threw up the snow within into the air, making the tableau the centrepiece of a slowly dissipating blizzard.

Somewhere outside, the wistful tones of a violin climbed up towards the sky, each tone clear and bright against the evening.

Languor cloaked Nami, where she was curled up against a warm body, listening to the steady heartbeat keeping time under her hands. A large hand came up to cover her, lacing their fingers together. She was too satiated to do much more than to give a light squeeze in return, vacantly admiring how the flickering light flowed over fingers, highlighting valleys and bouncing off knuckles, slowly painting inked letters an even stronger black before trickling away once more.

Her belly was full of the delicious feast Sanji had cooked up and her cheeks still hurt from laughing at the merriment Luffy and Chopper had basked in when gleefully tearing into the presents found under the tree. Even Usopp had joined in after a moment of hesitation, laughing at the Christmas rhymes tacked to each gift and trying to guess the contents of skilfully (or clumsily, depending on the giver) wrapped boxes and parcels, based on the clues therein.

"Merry Christmas," she said, squeezing the large hand once more, burrowing further into the warmth radiating from the larger man, enjoying the weight of his arm around her shoulders.

"Merry Christmas, Nami-ya," Law answered, pressing a soft kiss to the crown of her head.
