It was in the middle of winter. When king Aizawa walked through the woods with his faithful husband, as they walked, from time to time he would see snow falling from the sky. As they walked by the king brushed his finger across a branch, pricking his finger. The blood fell to the ground on top of the snow.

"Are you alright?"

"Yamada, you know I've always wanted a child."

And so Aizawa explained to his husband what type of child he wanted. A child with red eyes, a soul as dark as the branches. What they did not know was that not too far was a village. And in that village lived twenty magical fairies, each with a different supernatural ability. And the village leader was an old wizard with the ability to grant wishes and when he heard the king's wish he granted it. Twenty days later, a small basket was left at the castle doors. And in that basket was a newborn baby. But unlike the two kings that took him in, it was clear that this baby was unique. He had the head of a crow and deep red eyes.

"A fairy child."

"We can't just leave him."

And so they took the child in and named him Tsukuyomi. Both were very happy to finally have a child. But tragedy struck not too long after. King Yamada had gotten sick and passed away. Not long after the birth of Tsukuyomi King Aizawa soon remarried. However this was not a marriage of love, but rather a political marriage since the king of the land of endeavor was threatening war. And so he married the young king, Shigaraki, a powerful being who was cold and unfeeling. He too was from a fairy village in Endeavor. But this was not a peaceful village like in the land of one for all. This village was cold and unfeeling. King Shigaraki had brought three things with him, a dagger, a flask, and a mirror. But the mirror was in fact a magic mirror, with a spirit inside it, if you ask it any question, the spirit is compelled to tell the truth. And every day Shigaraki asked the same question.

"Mirror mirror, loyal and true, to lie you have no gall, who is the most powerful of all."

And every day the mirror answered the truth.

"You are the most powerful, my king, what will stop you, there is nothing."

King Aizawa was distraught about being married to such a selfish and unfeeling king. The only thing that would bring him comfort was his son Tsukuyomi, the baby had grown into a young man. But as the young man grew so did his power, he was close to the shadows. Particularly his best friend who he had named "Dark shadow", he and his best friend were in stark contrast to each other. Dark shadow was a very friendly presence and a wild one. Tsukuyomi was more reserved and stoic. One day Shigaraki repeated his daily routine.

"Mirror mirror, loyal and true, to lie you have no gall, who is the most powerful of all."

This time the mirror gave a surprising answer.

"You are powerful, my king, but this information is new, there is one who is more powerful than you."

This enraged Shigarki.

"Show me the one who stole my place".

The mirror then distorted to form an image of tokoyami. And at that moment our story began.
