Damn I am just on a roll with stories am I? Although this is my first 101 Dalmatian Street fic I've actually worked on this and like 3 other stories simultaneously. Somehow this was the only one I've finished. Yeah I've suffered burnout, but damn it I've had these ideas a-flowing and I wanted to capitalize on it.
So 101 Dalmatian Street is honestly a really good show. I have a YT channel called "Unwished Wolf9", and will be doing a deep dive for this show in December 2022 because I like it so much.
And yes I do like Dylan and Dolly as a ship. No I don't think this counts as ProShipping, due to the circumstances of the characters in the series. Plus I really like their dynamic. Okay that's it, on with the fic. Note: spacing is a nightmare, I'll fix this as soon as I can.
(New readers meet Dave. He separates the A.N. from the main story.)
.-.
"Dolly! Help me out here!" Dylan shouted trying to regain control of the water hose from the Dimitri Trio. Dolly was doing her own thing consisting of skateboarding around the backyard. Dylan was just playing with Dorothy. Until the Dimitris got a hold of the water hose and sprayed him.
They had been wrestling for control for about five minutes already. Dylan was decently strong, but the Dimitris had stronger paw grips. Of course Dolly mostly ignored his cries for help, and raced Delgado across the backyard. After they finished Dolly was left panting.
"You're getting much better, almost had me for a second." she complimented.
"I've been practicing different ways to get that way." he said enthusiastically, while also panting.
"Keep at it, and you'll beat me in no time." Dolly started petting Delgado's head.
"DOLLY!" Dylan practically screamed.
By now he was fighting Dimitri 1 at the nozzle, Dimitri 2 was flinging wildly because of the hose itself, and Dimitri 3 was at the tap. Dolly looked in their direction and started laughing.
"Aw. What's wrong? Can't just take the nozzle from a kid?" she retorted.
"Yeah, can't just take the nozzle from me?" Dimitri 1 repeated.
"Your grip is stronger than I thought, and apparently stronger than you think." Dylan shot back.
"Come on Dylan. You can do it!" Dolly shouted sarcastically.
"Dolly! Please! I have somewhere to be when Mom and Dad get home!" Dylan continued to complain.
"Ugh. Fine." Dolly finally said.
She went beside Dylan and grabbed the nozzle and pulled.
"Hey wait a minute. Why is your grip this strong?" she questioned Dimitri 1.
"Aw. What's wrong? Can't just take it from him?" Dylan said mockingly.
"Shut up! Okay on 3 just yank it. 1…2…Woah!"
Dolly and Dylan yanked as hard as they could. Only to catch themselves flying across the yard, into a wall. Dimitri 1 had let go of the nozzle just as Dylan and Dolly yanked.
"That's why you don't tell your plan right in front of your enemy." Dimitri 1 said as the other two laughed.
"Ow."
"Ugh."
Dylan had Dolly on top of him, but that was short lived by pushing her off. He grabbed the nozzle just inches away from them. Dolly couldn't help but feel a little flushed at the situation.
"At least we got this. So who's laughing now?" he retorted.
Dimitri 3 kicked up the tap to full blast, making Dylan spray himself in the face. Once again the Dimitri Trio caught themselves laughing.
"Apparently we still are!" Dimitri 2 replied.
The trio walked off, having their fill of mischief that day. Of course at the expense of Dylan and Dolly.
Dawkins walked in on the chaos, and quickly ran to the tap and turned the hose off. After doing so, he went to check on them. Of course Dylan was in a worse condition than Dolly.
"Are you two okay?" he asked frantically.
"No." Dolly said weakly.
Dylan quickly got up and zoomed past Dawkins.
"I need a towel before I get sick." he said as he passed.
He made his way into the house and back out with said towel. In almost record time to Dawkins.
"Now I'm curious. Why are you in such rush to stay clean?" Dawkins asked.
"Because when Mom and Dad get back, I have somewhere to be." Dylan answered.
"And what place do you have to be? Some sort of Poodle Dork convention meet up?" Dolly mocked.
"First of all, it's Poodle WOLF! And second of all, no! Although that would be just as equally cool." Dylan put his paw on his chin.
"Then where exactly are you headed?" Dawkins cut in.
"I have a date. With a real girl." Dylan said as he already covered Dolly's mouth with his paw.
"Man. Did you really have to ruin the moment?" Dolly complained, already having various insults in case he said those words.
"Either way. I'm not telling you which girl, but we've already agreed to meet when I had free time. Which is when Mom and Dad come home." he said while checking the time.
"Which should be in ten minutes. Thank dog I stopped the Dimtris in time." he continued.
"Well at least everything seems calm. Dylan you go relax, I'll do whatever you were doing before." Dawkins insisted.
"Oh I was just playing with Dorothy." Dylan pointed at the young pup.
"Okay then. Come on Dorothy, let's…uh. What games do you usually play with her?" he asked as he picked her up.
"Well, she's a pup. Anything keeps her entertained. Just keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn't chew anything out of existence." Dylan shivered.
"Right. I think I'll need Deepak to help me. Well enjoy your meet up." Dawkins said, walking away with Dorothy on his back.
"I will. And you better not follow me." Dylan said pointing at Dolly.
"I won't. As much as I am curious at what dorkette would date you. I actually have a life." she mocked.
With the fact that Dylan was basically free to do whatever now. He made his way to the door and out to the park eventually. Unbeknownst to him, Dolly would sure follow.
"Dante, you and Dawkins are in charge." she said as she followed suit.
Dante sat next to Dawkins, who was more or less stunned at the order.
"So. You wanna hear how the world ends?" Dante asked.
"Ha ha ha. Maybe later." Dawkins nervously said.
With Dolly
Dolly had followed Dylan to the park. As for a reason why she's doing so is for sure embarrassing. Truth be told, she started to fancy him, down right has a crush on him.
She developed these new feelings a few weeks ago. Sort of out of no where. All of the sudden, her cheeks would heat up when he unintentionally geeked out, her heart would race when something resulted in either one on top of the other. As much as she shouldn't, she rationalized that dogs in the same families do this sort of thing all the time. Plus they weren't blood related, so they would be safer than most other dogs.
As much as it was a weak explanation, it was the best case scenario, should Dylan feel somewhat the same way. However because he was more mature, in his mind he would have a problem.
When she heard Dylan say he had a date with another girl, she couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy. A part of her wanted either the date to not go well, or wanted Dylan to be lying about said girl, just to get out of the house. Whichever one happens, Dolly had no other choice but to eventually come clean to Dylan sooner rather than later.
She spotted him near a tree, just sitting, as if waiting for this mystery girl to show up. This lasted many minutes.
'I swear if she stood him up.' Dolly thought with anger.
Just then Fergus showed up. She tried her best to not get caught, but she heard the conversation pretty well, albeit some details getting mixed up.
"Yo Dyl. You want the Fox Special again?" he said in his usual laid back tone.
"Oh Yes. Very stressful the last few days." Dylan said almost impatiently.
"Say no more."
Fergus laid out his tail flatly on the floor. Dylan put his whole upper body on it, stomach first, like it was a bed. Fergus used his flexibility and swiftly cracked his back and shoulders. Pretty loudly at that. At this point Dolly's hearing wasn't good enough to hear the two conversing.
"Dang from those sounds, I bet these were some gnarly few days." Fergus said taken aback.
"They were. Oh I needed that." Dylan said as he snuggled into the fox' fluffy tail.
"Like I said. Just come around for the Fox Special, and that's all I'll need to hear."
While Dylan was enjoying his Fox Special, Dolly was at a loss for words. Considering she only heard half the conversation, she genuinely thinks Dylan likes Fergus. As in they're both Boyfriends. To say she was shocked was an understatement. She was legitimately frozen.
She was always told to be honest with herself and others it concerned. But there's a time and place. And those are not now or here. She ran off, while Dylan still snuggled up to the Fox tail.
"Fox fur is too soft for their own good." Fergus said to himself.
Back at the house
Dolly came back as calm as she could be. But Dawkins was a little keen on her face, so that means she didn't hide it that well.
"Dolly, are you alright? You look distressed." he inquired.
"Need to talk in private." she said as she grabbed his paw and ran to the treehouse.
At the Treehouse
"Alright I'll start from the beginning. You know that girl Dylan planned to meet with?"
"Yes." Dawkins was now intrigued. And of course not to his surprise Dolly followed Dylan.
"Well…um…how to say this." Dolly put a paw on her head.
"Okay. So no girl showed up."
Dawkins made an audible gasp.
"He got stood up?" he quickly asked.
"No. Let me finish. Instead, Fergus showed up." she continued.
"And Fergus is that fox you hang out with right?"
"Yes. Well from what I saw and heard, Dylan lied about the girl. And sounds like he intended to hang out with Fergus. But then something weird happened."
Dawkins leaned in with curiosity.
"Fergus laid out his tail, and Dylan started snuggling up to it, like a stuffed animal."
Dawkins was now even more confused.
"And here I didn't hear the conversation very well. But they were acting very affectionate, I suspect Dylan and Fergus…might actually be…dating."
"Wait Dylan, going out with the same gender? Are you sure?" he urgently asked.
"I would never lie about this sort of thing." she told him.
Dawkins was silent. Still very stunned at Dylan potentially being Bisexual.
"What are you gonna do?" he asked.
"Huh? What do you mean?" It was her turn to be confused.
"Dolly. I see the way you look at him. I maybe distracted when I'm in charge, but when I see little details, I always make a note of them." he said in a matter-of-fact sort of way.
Dolly was now as stunned as the smart Dalmatian in front of her was only minutes ago.
"I can't say others will approve. But given the specific details of your relation. I say you lucked out." Quick to defend, he was.
"I don't know what to do. I want to tell him. But I don't want him to think I'm jealous, or worse, that I don't accept him." Dolly was shook at the thought.
(.-. Hey guys, Dave here. This makes sense since Dolly could actually be Bisexual in the series. Stating this because Miklos Weigert, Series Director, put her on his Pride Month banner in 2021. Just a little detail for the story. Picture is in the AO3, and Wattpad versions but users may have to check that out to see .-.)
"I have a hard time believing he'll be mad for that considering you're Bisexual as well." Dawkins sort of retorted.
"You know you could just say Bi." she said, irritated that Dawkins is always technical.
"You want me to leave?" he said innocently.
"No I mean B-I is in short for Bisexual not as in goodbye." she corrected.
"Sorry I'm still fairly new to this." Dawkins quickly apologized.
"It's okay, you're learning, that's all that matters." Dolly pet him on the head.
"Now I'm not sure when I'm gonna tell him, but I know I'll do it soon." she confirmed.
"Okay. But if it doesn't go well, Dante and I will help with the pups if you need a few days." Dawkins comforted.
"Thank you, Dawkins." Dolly hugged him.
Later that night
All of the Dalmatians were happily eating their Kibble dinner. At least as happy as they could be. Dolly was hesitant, and Dawkins took his time between bites. Looking in Dolly and Dylan's direction as he did.
He flicked his collar a few times. Dolly heard it.
"After dinner, tell him." he mouthed.
She just gave him a barely noticeable thumbs up.
After the pups finished, Doug and Delilah insisted they put them to bed while Dolly and Dylan got a break. Before Dylan could do anything Dolly approached him.
"Hey Dylan, do you wanna just hang out a bit?"
"Uh…Why?" Dylan asked, obviously skeptical.
"Well why not?" Dolly said nervously.
"I feel like there's a catch to it."
"I'll play PoodleWolf with you." Dolly tempted
"Okay!"
All of Dylan's other emotions dissipated and was replaced with excitement.
At the Treehouse, again
Dolly and Dylan were now in a heated session of PoodleWolf. Dolly was trying her best to keep up with the game mechanics. It showed since she was holding her own very well. At least until.
"No Dolly using that type of spell makes them stronger." Dylan did his best to hide his frustration.
"I'm sorry there's literally so many made up elements in this game it feels like a more frustrating periodic table." she complained back. She let out an irritated sigh.
"I just can't with this game sometimes. I'm sorry Dylan, I don't know how you do it."
Dylan could tell Dolly was having a really bad day, and that she genuinely felt sorry for him having to put up with her. He gently set aside the game board.
"Dolly? Are you alright? Like I know you get tired, but I've never seen you get this upset during PoodleWolf."
"Ugh. It's not PoodleWolf. Something's just been on my mind today." she admitted.
"You can talk to me, if you want. It's my job as a brother for all of my siblings to be comfortable talking to me." Dylan made his way next to her.
"But I feel like if I say anything you'll get upset with me."
"What do you mean?" he asked nervously.
"Well…how do I tell you this…Please don't be upset with me." Dolly took a deep breath.
"I know about you and Fergus." she said clearly for him to understand.
"Huh?"
"I know that you and Fergus are…Boyfriends." Dolly said a little quieter.
"Dolly." There was a pause, and she was anxious.
"We're not dating." Dolly was shocked to hear those words.
"And how did you know I was with Fergus today anyway?" he questioned.
"You said you wouldn't-" she started
"You followed me didn't you?" he interrupted.
"Even when I asked you not to. You still did." Dylan was for sure frustrated now.
"Besides, Dolly I'm not into guys. And I'm very comfortable with that." he continued.
"Dylan." Dolly said quietly.
"Not that I don't support YOU. But it's just not for me." he ignored her.
"Dylan…"
"I mean even if we WERE dating, that would be NONE of your business." Dylan started breathing heavily.
"Dyl-"
"Even if you would have already known. I would've appreciated it if you at least stayed ignorant even if I told you."
"DYLAN I LIKE YOU!!!" Dolly suddenly shouted at the top of her lungs.
That shut him up instantly.
"You…you what?" he had to do a double take.
"I like you. Not in a sense that sister would like her brother. More like I genuinely like you…like…I want you to be my boyfriend. Type of like." Dolly laid it all out for him to perfectly understand.
"Listen, I even thought about it. Dogs in the same family do this thing all the time. Besides we're not blood related. So we could work this out. Dylan, I want this to somehow work out." she practically pleaded.
She took his paws in her own. Showing him how sincere she actually was. He stayed silent.
"Dylan?"
"I…I think I need a minute. Please lay in the bed." he said, voice devoid of any emotion.
"Yeah. Yeah. Take your time." she said as she approached the bed.
Dolly laid in the bed, while Dylan paced back and forth around the treehouse.
One minute, eventually turned to fifteen, which eventually turned to thirty. All of which Dolly was growing more and more anxious. More and more worried that Dylan was disgusted with her.
Dylan finally sat down.
"Alright. I think I've had enough time to process all this."
Dolly got up from the bed and sat next to him.
"You okay?" she asked.
"Yeah. After giving it some thought. I think I'll give this a chance. I'll admit, I've thought about this feeling I have when I'm around you, but I never figured out what it was." he explained.
Dolly's tail started wagging a small bit.
"I mean I don't get nervous around you. But I know that it's the same feeling as you have." he continued.
"So does that mean…?" Dolly asked with anticipation.
"Yes Dolly." Dylan took her paws in his.
"I do feel the same way, and I'm gonna give this a chance."
Dolly then tackled him, a bit teary-eyed, but laughing and smiling all the same.
"You *sniff* better not be messing with me." she threatened.
"I'm not. I'll feel weird at first, but I'll get used to it."
Dolly brought their noses together, tail wagging fast, and heart fluttering. She moved forward a bit more, and then brought their lips together.
Dylan was stunned. This was his first kiss, after all. The surprise he felt when she did it was, immense, to say the least. Either way he reciprocated.
After they broke from the kiss, due to the necessity of air. Dolly and Dylan were still smiling like dorks. Something Dolly would always use to insult him. But now they were technically a couple, she wouldn't mind being in the same lump of dork he was in.
"Well I don't know about you, but I've had enough surprises for one day." Dylan joked.
"Yeah, I guess I could say the same thing."
They both went onto the small bed of the treehouse. Dolly on top of Dylan, snuggled up to his chest. In each other's arms. And either wouldn't have it any other way.
That's it that's the fic. I know a lot of people don't really ship Dolly and Dylan, but I do, and I made a story about it so I don't care. Either way thank you for reading and leave constructive reviews if you want. Until I make another fic, have a good Day/Evening/Night, and take care.
