……….

Abhijeet looked at the Headquarters building. His eyes were full of determination, but the lust for revenge took over the positive beams. His perplexed self stood at the door for some time questioning himself. He stepped inside the building. His steps shaking, he felt his throat getting dry and the surroundings suffocating him.

Why he is the one getting suffocated? he is here to close the walls on that idiot Acp

Why he is the one whose throat is getting dry? The Acp is the one for whom it will get hard sooner.

He looked around in search of the room and finally his eyes landed on the desired room. He took a deep breath and cracked open the door. A shaft of cold wind hit his face while three pairs of eyes were already darting in his direction. He closed the door behind him and unintentionally his eyes fall on him. He made sure the eye lock doesn't last more than a second but it's hard to look away from something you have been searching for your whole life.

The rush of emotions inside him made him feel like someone kicked in his gut. He felt his stomach lurching and losing control of himself. He wanted to hold that Acp from his neck and shake him to the core, punch him, kick him, and make him regret every breath he took since his father died.

He was brought back to reality with the crooked voice of one of the people sitting on the soft leather chairs.

" Abhijeet, We have seen your details and the views of the academy trainer about you. You must be a very brilliant officer." Mr. Kabir spoke.

"Indeed sir," Abhijeet spoke even before he knew the words came out of his mouth.

He felt the abruptness of his answer and shut his eyes tight for a moment concealing himself from the expression of the individuals sitting in the room.

He opened his eyes and directly looked into Mr. Kabir but he could feel the gaze of Pradyuman and the other person piercing through him.

"A very usual question but what is the reason for you to join us." The other person finally spoke.

Revenge, Salary, I can't think of something else. He thought.

"Passion, idk." Abhijeet laid down a very usual answer.

Mr. Kabir smiled and pulled out something from under a file. A gun and his badge. He forwarded it towards him and said

"This is your property now. Ye hasil karne ka matlab hai aik wada. Jo tum crore logon se kar rahe ho. Un sab ko pehle aur khud ko baad mein rakhne ka."

Abhijeet stared at the gun for a sec and held it firmly without giving his mind a chance to process any second thought.

"You are surely done with your training but I am supposed to polish you for the next 10 days. Mujhe umeed hai ke tum meri umeedon par pura utro ge. " Pradyuman spoke with a hint of belief in his voice.

Abhijeet looked in his direction again and just simply nod his head in a yes without breaking eye contact.

Pradyuman turned his head to Mr. Kabir and said

"Tu phir sir mein is ko lekar nikalta hoon. (whispering) I will tell you my views after the first session. (Standing up while shaking hands) Chalta hoon phir mein. (turning towards Abhijeet) Chalo Abhijeet.

Abhijeet silently followed him clutching the air in his hands. He simply nodded in the direction of Mr. Kabir and went out followed by Acp sir.

One thing Acp noticed about Abhijeet is that he walked faster than most people could run. They came out of the room nearly at the same time but Abhijeet was already near the lift. He was waiting for him. Pradyuman came and took the lead and they went to the parking together.

Pradyuman sat in the driving seat, while Abhijeet was standing outside. Pradyuman gestured for him to sit in the passenger seat so he did. The whole time he tried not to make any eye contact with Acp Pradyuman or else he could easily see the hatred for him in his eyes. His father always told him that his eyes were the most expressive feature of his face. He couldn't take any risk so he kept looking at his hands.

This behavior of his was new for Acp sir. His first impression was different for him.

"You're not happy to be here? Pradyuman asked him noticing his behavior.

"I can't tell." He replied as shortly as he could without looking at him.

"You will get used to it. Staying away from family is hard." Said Pradyuman smilingly.

The expression on Abhijeet's face took a drastic change. The anger and hate of listening to the word family turn the wheels for him. His eyes became teary at his helplessness. He hated the fact that his father's murderer was sitting beside him and he can't twist his neck.

"We are almost there." Acp sir parked the car and they got out. The building was plain grey and dull but it was welcoming from the open door to the wide hallway. The floor was fresh marbles with a blend of deep homely browns and the walls were pale white. Acp sir led him to a dark room where only four shooting boards were visible at a distance.

"You should start shooting. I have a few calls to make." He said while giving him a warm smile. A warm smile that burned him more.

There were two things he hate. One is taking orders and the second is taking orders from someone he despises.

The pill is hard to swallow but he chooses that for himself.

He turned towards the board and imagine that board was Acp Pradyuman. He took the position and aimed for the perfect, he shot. The bullet hits the head center aim spot.

"Bullseye" he whispered to himself.

He shot the next few shots and all were perfect to the aim or extremely close. He paused for a second to praise himself. Behind him, Acp sir was standing, impressed. In his whole career, he had seen a million trainees but he was different. The firmness in his posture, the way he held that gun, he was very much good than many of the professionals. And the fact that it was just the start for him and he had all these years in front of him to better himself. This thought scared him. The bad guys should be scared. He cleared his throat so Abhijeet turned towards him.

"A good shooter you are." Acp sir praised him.

"Yes sir," Abhijeet replied with a little nod.

This confidence. This was the first thing he noticed about him. His "indeed sir" reply to Kabir sir and now this. There wasn't even anything rude about his tone nor he sounds proudy. It was just simply confidence that was running in his veins.

"Would you like to accompany me for the fieldwork? From today" asked Acp Pradyuman.

"Definitely." Replied Abhijeet.

Sudhakar and Jayant were leading the team in the recent case. Jayant was older and more strict. Sudhakar on the other hand was a fun-loving guy but serious when it comes to working. Together they fill the void of each other. Acp sir trusted them the most after himself and they never let him down. Pradyuman already informed Jayant about him coming to the bureau so he told about that everyone. Daya was a little more excited than everyone else. Him being the youngest there, he thought it would be great to find someone on who he can keep tabs. They were discussing the case when the door of the bureau cracked open.
