Author's Note: This story is a continuation of my previous story 'Love's Unsteady Path', where Komi and Tadano explore what more there is to their relationship...

"I'm home." Tadano gently closed the door to his apartment unit, then turned and headed over to his room.

"Oh, hey brother, you're home later than usual…" Hitomi swung around on her chair as Tadano opened the door to their room.

His appearance immediately caught her off-guard. He was not in his school uniform, instead in a comfortable set of clothes, and she could see a ton of bandages across every limb and on his head.

"Brother…? What on earth happened?" Hitomi looked at her brother, confused and concerned.

"Huh…? Oh, that… It's a long story…" Tadano shrugged and dropped his bag down by his bedside, slightly wincing as the strap dragged along his right palm.

He then turned to his sister, she was giving him that look again, and he knew what it meant.

"You want to hear it, don't you?"

"Glad you got the hint, brother." She tossed a pillow to the floor by her brother's feet and sat down on one herself. Tadano could tell she was full of questions.

"Alright," He sighed as he sat down. "Fire away."

"How did you get hurt?"

"Well… A sort of gang I guess just came up to me and Shouko… and then they dragged us apart from each other and I wanted to fight my way out to return to her, that's all."

"Wait, you and party A? Did you two…"

"Reconcile? Yeah, we did."

Hitomi raised her eyebrows in pleasant surprise.

"Good on you, I guess… But why are you in these clothes…?"

"Oh, I went to her place after the incident…"

"Oh~… So did you guys like… make out or anything?"

"Huh? W-We didn't!"

"I thought you would have. You guys probably missed each other so much and just wanted to do some wub wub…" Hitomi made kissing faces.

Tadano blushed. He did make out with her, and the kiss they had felt so blissful. It remained in his head the entire journey home.

"Ha! You're blushing! You and her definitely did some wub-"

"Fine… we did. But only because she wanted to look after me…" He lied again. They kissed because they missed each other's taste.

"Are you sure?" Hitomi tilted her head like a puppy and Tadano felt as though she was staring right into his soul.

"Yeah."

"Alright then. But you did change clothes at her place…?"
"I did. She asked me to take a shower because my uniform was all bloody and I looked like a mess and probably smelled like one too."

"Ahh… I see… Alright then, you should rest after dinner, Hitohito." Hitomi then stood up and returned to her chair.

"Since when did you end your questionnaire so early…?"

"You're pretty hurt, I just assumed you would still be in pain, so I didn't really wanna bother you too much."

"Oh… thanks Hitomi."

"Have a good rest then." She gave her brother a wink and left the room.

Tadano stared at the door as it closed, then proceeded to lie down on his bed and stare at the underside of the second floor of the bunk bed.

It's been one hell of a day…

He still couldn't believe that all of that had happened. All the brawling, him and Komi reuniting, Najimi and everyone coming to rescue them…

Oh wait, I promised I'd text Komi when I get home!

Immediately he snatched up his phone, although he caused his left arm's injuries to sting even more due to his sudden movements.

Tadano: I'm home now, Shouko.

He placed his phone down next to his pillow, before it suddenly buzzed again.

Komi: I'm glad you are home safely.

Tadano: Today has been one long day, hasn't it?

Komi: It really has. How are you feeling?

Tadano: Oh, a little tired, but I'm relieved we got out of there alright.

Komi: Yeah… I was afraid something worse had happened to you.

Tadano: Luckily nothing did, minus these injuries of course.

Komi: I'm sorry if our kiss was so sudden.

Tadano: Oh, no worries.

Komi: I already feel so much better now that we are together again.

Tadano: Me too. I'm going to rest now, since I'm feeling quite tired. Talk to you soon, Shouko!

He placed his phone down, and his eyelids slowly drifted downwards…

Bzzt!

Oh, it's my phone again…

He went to pick it up and saw Komi had responded.

Komi: I love you, Hito… Talk to you soon:)

Tadano's heart fluttered and he blushed while smiling to himself.

"I love you too, Shouko…" He whispered as he sent a return text, slowly falling asleep.

Komi's face burned with embarrassment after sending her text. It took her 5 minutes to send it, and once she had, she instantly regretted it.

Should I delete it? He might think it's weird or that I…

But I really do love him… I… really want him to be next to me right now…

She lay in bed staring at her dark ceiling.

Bzzt!

Komi jumped a little before realising it was her phone that buzzed, and she flipped on her side to pick it up.

Tadano: I love you too, Shouko. Talk to you tomorrow:)

Komi's heart started racing. She felt flustered, but she really liked this feeling. Her embarrassment was gone, and she smiled to herself a little. Slowly, she too fell asleep.

"Hey, Hito…"

"Yeah, Shouko?" Tadano turned to face her.

"I wish we could… spend the whole night together here…"

They were seated by the river where they usually go on night-time dates.

Then she blushed.

"Wait… I… Didn't m-mean it… t-that way…"

"I'd love to spend a whole night here with you, Shouko."

She turned to look at him.

"R-Really…?"

"Yeah." He gave her the warmest smile, and it made her heart flutter like crazy.

"I…" Slowly she leaned in.

"Shouko…"

"H-Hito…"

She placed her palm on the side of his face and planted a sweet kiss…

RINGGGG!

Shouko opened her eyes, and realised her palm was on her cat plushie.

And she also realised she was kissing it.

"!" A silent scream let off in her head as she bolted upright and shut off her alarm.

She felt blood rushing to her face, embarrassed that she had that sort of dream.

Although… it felt nice… I wish I could have more of these dreams…

She blushed even harder, twiddling her fingers. Silently she imagined Tadano taking her cat plushie's place. One day he would. One day.
