Danny continues to walk alongside Clara, wondering why she seems so mad at him. He was grateful for the save from the python, but it seemed that she was more on walking ahead of him for some reason. Clara did have a reason, ever since he thanked her, she couldn't stop blushing when he got close. She was still upset and felt foolish. Saving him was fine, she was a Warrior after all. It was something else, something she couldn't stop thinking about.

She looks behind to make sure he didn't get caught by more wild animals. Seeing he was fine, she looked back ahead.

'I can't believe he ruined my wish! I was an idiot! Still, he is honest and kind. I still can't believe that someone would push him off a cliff as a joke! I guess if he was going to land anywhere, water would be the safest place to land in. I'm not sure how his parents would take it if he had a broken body.' She thought.

She looks back and sighs.

'I will admit he's not bad looking. Not all muscles nor too skinny. A nice mixer of both. His black hair might be messy, but it works. I've seen teeth and I can tell he cares for them. His eyes...oh lord...his eyes! They're so beautiful! I could stare at them all day!'

Clara quickly caught on to what she was thinking and quickly shook her head.

'What's wrong with me!? He ruined my wish! I should be mad at him!' She thought, not noticing another blush appearing on her face.

Danny notices how she was acting and was wondering if she was alright.

"Are you okay, Clara?" He asked.

"I'm fine! Keep moving!" She said, making Danny sigh.

Clara was really wondering if she should be close to him. Lots of her people thought he was cute for a human and she had to agree. But it didn't matter. Once he was back with the other humans, he'll be out of sight and out of mind.

'But,' She thought, 'I've seen how the queen and the others look at him. I know this route. It takes us nowhere close to a human group. This is to wear him out and use him for breeding. It's close to mating season after all. Luckily, I'm strong enough to handle it! I don't need to breed with anyone! Why should I care?'

But Clara thought back to the other men they use. She was still young the first time she witness the breeding. Lots of them were left near death after the herd had their moments. Some were scared for life after they were let go. Some even killed themselves after they were done. She looked back at Danny, knowing he was still young.

'I don't care! I don't care! He ruined my wish! He deserves to let this happen!' Clara thought.

They stopped to rest again, and Danny offer her another carrot. She had to turn it away. She knew what was really in those carrots. She could not deny she was getting hungry, but she had to put it off a little longer. She watched Danny eat a few more carrots, knowing that it will take effect soon.

Danny tosses the end away, starting to feel a little sleepy. He was walking for a while, so it was only fair he'll get tired.

"Clara? If it's alright with you. I'm taking a little nap. I feel tired." Danny said, yawning.

"Fine. I'll wake you in a few." Clara said, trying not to look back.

'I don't care. I don't care. I don't care.' She repeated over and over again.

She looks back and saw that he passed out. That means it was time to take him back to her people. Clara walks up and picks him up. She looks down at the sleeping boy and frowns.

"I..." She tried to say but felt the words get caught in her throat.

Clara looks at Danny, thinking back about the stuff that happened in the few hours. Saving him from the Python, making sure she was fed, even making sure she was fine. Try as she might, she couldn't shake that what she was doing was against her nature as a warrior.

"Oh, fuck me." She said.

She couldn't do this. It was wrong. Ruined wish or not, he didn't deserve this. She turned and start to walk down the path away from her people. She knew she couldn't return to her people after this. This boy was worth more trouble than she thought.

A few hours, later,

Danny groans as he woke up. For some reason, he was in a dreamless sleep for the past few hours. He looks around to see himself in a cave with a fire close by. He sat up and saw Clara poking the fire with a stick.

"I see it finally wore off." She said, confusing him.

"What wore off?" He asked.

"The sleep herb. It was placed in your food." She said, not looking at him.

"Sleep herb? You drug me?" Danny asked, shocked.

"My people drug you. I had nothing to do with that." Clara corrected him.

"What did they drug me for?" Danny asked.

"They were planning on using you as a breeder. They wanted to use you as a sex slave for a few days." Clara said, setting the stick down.

"And where are we?" Danny asked, ready to fight if he had to.

"Far away from my people. Thanks to you." She said, growling.

"What do you mean thanks to me?" Danny asked, confused.

"Because of you, I can't go back to my people! I took you away instead of bringing you to my people! I betray them, because of you!" She shouted.

"And blaming me is going fix anything?!" Danny shouted back, wondering what her deal was.

"I'm a warrior! I'm bound to honor! I couldn't let you fall prey to what my people wanted!" She shouted.

"Then why did you drug me?!" Danny shouted back.

"BECAUSE YOU RUINED MY WISH!" Clara screams, surprising him.

"Wish?" Danny asked.

Clara groans before turning away. Danny saw her walk away a bit before sighing.

"I was going to take part in the breeding this year. Before you show up, some of the other girls talk about keeping a man as a boyfriend since some of us are close to age to fall in love. I made a wish. I made a wish that the first man to fall from the sky would be my boyfriend. And then you showed up!" Clara said, groaning.

"I was joking! I didn't mean that I really wanted a man to fall from the sky! I...argh! I hate this so much!" Clara said, feeling like banging her head on the cave wall.

Danny sighs. He stood up and walked over to her. Since she was much taller than him, thanks to her horse legs, Danny could only carefully pat her side.

"Look, I'm sorry if I ruined everything for you. But you had no way of knowing what would happen. I didn't even know that I would be pushed off the cliff and landed in a pool with naked Centaurs." Danny said before flinching.

"Sorry, me and my big mouth." He said, looking away.

Clara sighs. He was right. She was blaming him for something she didn't think would happen. It seems she was so set on setting things right, she was starting to forget her code as a warrior. Danny was young. He didn't deserve any of her hatred from her. She can't blame him for everything that has happened so far.

"It's fine." She said, sighing.

Danny nods and looks outside, the sun was setting. The herb must have knocked him out longer than he thought.

"It would be around this time my people would have stripped you and started to tease, hoping you would give in for the night," Clara said, walking up to him.

"Is it really that bad?" Danny asked.

"We're part horse. Take a guess." Clara said, making Danny blush.

"I don't know much about horse's mating season and I'm glad I don't know." He said, rubbing the back of his head.

"Rest. Tomorrow, I'll take you back to your class for real." Clara said.

"What about you?" Danny asked.

"I'll be fine. I slept went we reach this cave. I can stay awake to keep an eye out for any danger." She said.

"Alright," Danny said, walking back to the spot he was resting in.

"Danny."

He stops and looks back at her.

"I'm sorry," Clara said, not looking at him.

Danny sighs. After what he heard, he wasn't upset with her.

"It's okay. I don't blame you." Danny said, laying on the ground and closing his eyes.

Clara looks back at him before turning forward. She could only guess how different things would be from here on out.

Well, it seems that Clara's people have a little something during their mating season, but not all of them turned out so well. Clara was able to save Danny, but it causes her to betray her people. After getting into an argument, we finally learned why Clara was acting so rude to Danny. And before anyone worries, I'm not rushing this. I do want Danny to get back safely before I do anything about having them in a relationship. And I will explain what happens to the other Centaurs after they notice that Clara didn't return in a later chapter.
