After Shikamaru was done with his cigarette, he starts grabbing his stuff in her apartment. The girl noticed it when she came out of the bathroom, only wrapped in a towel.

"Fuck and run you again? Have we met before?" He turns around to where she was standing, he raised a brow at her.

"It's already 2 am, why don't you just sleep in here?" The girl demanded, she pouted her lips.

He chuckled "Woman. I'm not the fuck, then cuddle, and I'll cook for your breakfast type of guy. I'm going home"

This is his routine, go to work from Monday to Friday and has sex with random women every Friday night. His weekend was reserved for himself.

He drove to his apartment and immediately took a shower. He opened his wardrobe and a knitted green scarf greeted him, a memory from five years ago starts occupying his mind. Before he prepares himself to sleep, he received a message from their group chat.

Choji, Shika, Meet me at Yakiniku at Lunch! See yah! [Ino]

He replied and closed his phone. Shikamaru closed his eyes and slept in his cold, empty, and lonely apartment that night.

Everything changed after high school. Most of them went to Konoha University for college. They become very busy in school but sometimes he meets with his high school friends once in a while to relieve some stress, mostly during weekends. Him, Kiba, and the other council officers broke their friendship during the first year of college but the four officers apologized to him, they realized how dickhead they were by placing a bet on a girl. Shikamaru felt that Temari needed that apology more from them but still accepted it and mended their friendships. They all grew up and matured, most of them were married and have their own businesses.

During lunch, he met his two best friends at Yakiniku. Ino who is now engaged to Sai and Choji is now married to Karui.

"I have news!" Ino squeaked

"What is it?" Choji asked

"Sakura and Sasuke are now engaged! And they will be having an engagement party tonight" She excitedly said

"It's expected, they have been like 5 years now" Shikamaru said

"Right! And Sakura said we are all invited to their party. I said we will go"

"Alright, what time is it?" Choji asked while munching the rice and meat.

"Around 6 pm. I'll chat with you when Sai and I heading our way. I want to see you both there, especially you Shikamaru!"

"Too troublesome. I need some sleep tonight" he said with a blank expression, he wasn't interested in it.

"Oh c'mon! Sasuke wanted to see you there, you've been buddies in High school"

"Yup! Still not going, I'm sleeping early tonight"

Ino was now frustrated at his answers. She raised one brow and smirked at him like she was planning something. Shikamaru saw it and becomes suspicious of what she was giving.

"What?" He asked

"So, you're not going? Is that your final answer?"

"Yeah, final!"

"Alright, suit yourself" She raised her glass in a sassy way and sip it "We will be going to enjoy it so muuuuchhh!"

"And? Go have fun with yourselves" He was still stiff with his answer.

She turned her gaze to Choji "Oh and by the way, Choji have you remembered Temari? The blonde one?"

Shikamaru immediately turn his head to hers, this time she got him.

"Oh yeah, the girl from Suna?" Choji answered and was surprised by what she said

"Yah, she's now in Konoha and we invited her tonight, she agreed. Help me entertain her tonight"

"She's here? How did you find her?" Choji curiously asked

Shikamaru was now silent, his throat constricts, and cannot spill any words. He can feel a cold sensation wrapping around his body.

"We accidentally saw her in a coffee shop, me and Sakura. Attending business meetings, I think. She's glowing I'm telling you! And we invited her, she agreed" she's telling Choji with hands expressions.

Shikamaru clears his throat "What time is it again tonight?"

"Oh? I thought you were not coming?" Ino mockingly asked

"I'm going because you said Sasuke wanted me to come. I changed my mind" he said while crossing his arms to his chest

"Riggghhttt, fool yourself now!"

"Ino! I'm asking you what time tonight?" Shikamaru demanded.

"6 pm, wear your best suit Shikamaruuuu" Ino teases him while chuckling, Choji joined her in laughing at him.

"Tch! Stop it Ino!" He said with a deadpan expression but his heart was screaming, the idea of seeing Temari again feels surreal to him

After their lunch, he immediately went back to his apartment to find clothes that he will wear tonight. He checks some shops around his area to find a store, his fingers unconsciously glide to his gallery and he opened the photo that he took five years ago, then smiled.

It's been five years, and her name still doesn't fail to invade his mind, like it was engraved there forever.

It's still early so he decided to go to a clothing shop to buy new clothes, the last time he bought clothes was when he was in college. He also bought perfume to make sure he'll make an impression on someone tonight.

He was still afraid to face her, his heart and mind were now in the battle of who should his body listen to. But there's only one thing he wanted to do tonight, is to see her.
