So...

How did I become a... squirrel thing?

No, the real question was how did I wake up as Kayblis way before he became a Dark Lord?

It started out one day, while I was crossing the crossroads in Britain, God save the Queen, I was surprised that... two, driverless trucks crashed together, and one only one who was between, is me. I don't know what happened next, but before I woke up as a Lis, I definitely felt myself burning from an explosion.

Ow.

Oh dear, I can't even remember my name, or many things that happened at once.

All I can say is that, after I was reborn in this world a year ago, I just wanted to survive as long as possible, and that also means that I would keep hiding as much as possible, too-

...

No, that would also mean that I would just be a coward, like the original Kayblis! After all, if I do this, it also means that I'm just following a cowardly path!

What a drag...

Although I can hide, I should do that only at certain times.

Hey! What are you looking at?

Well, I'm still pretty weak, so why am I getting glares from absolutely nowhere? I hope it's not those three supreme gods and the whale...

Anyways, I've been avoiding trouble left and right a few months after I left the cave I woke up in, climbing trees, eating random fruits (some of which have caused me pain and suffering by diseases, better be careful eating those strange berries and other strange fruits.) and also, building a hut which I can rest my little, furry body on.

Or at least I tried building a hut. Even so, those annoying lizards destroyed it!

I've seen creatures of my kind die, maybe around... 200 of them? I couldn't feel anything but pity, after all... this world is made for the mighty and unfair.

I'm just at the rock bottom of the food chain and I definitely didn't like staying there, so I, Kayblis will work hard!

There were no humans yet, because they didn't exist and become the next protagonist race.

But I did see some dragons passing around, or even thousands of them going at a certain direction, only to return wounded and with smaller numbers.

Yeah, some of those massive lizards killed my kind in front of my eyes, some of those dragons were humanoid, and different from their kin, even so they aren't flightless because, magic. ಠᴥಠ

With my little hands and feet, I used as much of my survival experience as possible, using knowledge and remaining memories from my past life.

Although I remember that the Lis race has some sort of evolution ability, I just don't know how to do it.

I kind of took a shit once I tried making myself evolve, how embarrassing...

(・ᴥ・;)・・・

Anyway, whilst I was inside a hut that was made with most of my effort and knowledge, I began wondering about how to access magic.

What? If I wanted to survive long enough for Kkulf Kkulf to take me because he... she... it was curious about transferring it's blood to experiment on something, in fact I definitely require access to magic in order to increase my chances of surviving.

It would take a short time to learn, but a long time to master, though that wouldn't become a problem.

So anyway, I started rolling around the straw hut I made in boredom. I could always try using magic later as I still have time to spend.

[~ Line • Break ~]

A few months have passed, and things were still fine.

*image of my little self getting chased down by a few dragons who chased me for unknown reasons*

... Yep, still fine.

I'm currently hiding from these dragons in a small hole, finding a way to do something about this miserable state I am now in.

I recently have grown sharp claws on my hands which allowed me to do various things now. Although they're sharp, I don't exactly think that I can just attack and defend myself from these oversized lizards, but I can hunt down some strange, soulless animals only existing in this world/continent that were called insects. Maybe I've misunderstood these dragons, but I don't want to know what their intentions are.

Once I noticed that not a single creature that can hunt or capture me was outside anymore, I slowly crawled out of my temporary bunker.

This little furry body of mine isn't hungry yet, so I started wandering around, hoping to find something interesting aside from an life that is just a daily routine of surviving.

I don't plan on being lazy, especially when being lazy means being weaker because of this world's laws.

Honestly, nothing interesting was happening for a little while, and I was just about to yawn.

Until...

The ground I was on started rumbling.

Eh? Is there an earthquake or something?

Or, something really was happening.

... I tried to move my little legs, but the rumbling of the ground suddenly became louder and more frequent, causing me to trip down face first.

The rumbling continued becoming more frequent and more dangerous, and I could not do anything else but take the pain and grit my little, sharp teeth.

You know... as unrealistic as it may be, getting trampolined really hard on the ground might break my bones, until I did not touch the ground anymore.

Huh?

My body was still in pain, any slight movement I might make would hurt this little me even more. I tried to open my eyes, only to see a faint vision of a red-scaled dragon, and the feeling of wind blowing onto me.

I don't know about this, but he kind of looks familiar, yet as I was about to try figuring out who this dragon was, my eyes felt heavier as time passes by, so I have no other choice but to let sleep embrace me.

... At least, I'm still alive.

"Ah, you're awake at last. I thought you'd be awake later, but I guess I was wrong." Someone said with a slightly deep yet gentle tone as I tried to get up

I looked around me, and found out that I was in some sort of house, and that I was resting on a bed meant for... dogs, or in this case, Wanwans.

And then, I looked at where the voice came from, and finding out that a winged, half naked red haired, golden eyed man stood in front of me. He definitely looked incredibly curious at something.

We stared for a few seconds, until the redhead grinned and then grabbed me by my round, furry body and lifted me up.

What the-?

"I'm going to have to keep you as my pet, interesting little fellow! You don't even show any fear at all unlike all of your kind! Haah... those critters are all pretty wild around me or any of my people..."

I could only stare at the red haired man while being dumbfounded.

"... Well, anyway... from now on, I shall name you Lisbeth!"

... ಠ ᴥ ಠ ?! Are you kidding me? You're welcome, I guess...

Ah, well... I guess my freedom is about to become limited, and trouble might be around my way.

Still, who the heck is this guy?
