Taira was my nanowrimo novel this year (87,557 words for the draft and counting). I could hardly get my head out of her headspace for this month's Something to Upload, so I wrote a poem... in haste, because (and I'm still 3k from the end) I had around 8k to write for today if I'm to reach my original goal of 100,000 words this year. Anyway, enjoy this small poem, and do tell me what you think of it.

Rabbit's paw and fox's pad

Made the heart of Aslan glad

Strong, courageous

Brave, contagious

Willing to stand up for what there is right.

Willing together to go there and fight.

All hail Paddy, breaker of the ritual

Trying hard to destroy the habitual

Longing for what he should not do

Wanting despite all on leaf to chew

All hail Taira, staying strong despite it all

Heeding only Aslan's call

Standing strong and proud and tall

Through things that would others appal.

Aslan the beloved! Hail him most of any

Remember that behind him there do rally many.

Remember the rabbit and fox

Who strode among the rocks

Of utter, complete despair

Yet came victorious from there.

Reviews are much encouraged. :D
