Spectre: Welp, another one shot fic. This time featuring Teyvat's richest woman - Ningguang! So anyways, I'm in the middle of a burnout phase on Genshin after building and maxing Yoimiya and Yae Miko, so I decided to write again until after 3.3 is released. Additional notes will be at the end so take time to read and later review if need be.
I could care less if Catspats31 posted her 'review' in the fic. He/she is just fear mongering at this point and knows she has no power over the other fics, pointless even when reporting stories that are almost a decade old.
Note: This is based on an old fanfic I read back at Ao3, but with several differences and made with my own formula that made it distinct. Aether x Ningguang is very rare to find, so I decided to make one as practice.
An Arrangement
As Tianquan of the Qixing, Ningguang knew her job had the pivotal impact on the trade and commerce of Liyue, both of which served as the vitality of it's lifeline. As a child, she knew she had to work hard if she wished to climb Liyue'a hierarchy. And worked she did, and never thought that she would be able to until her ascension to the person she was now, she already had more what she had bargained for, and the only thing she could do now is to keep going with her routine.But by being the Tianquan, she barely had enough time for herself when her responsibilities kept piling up. She valued the rare moments where she could walk and mingle with the people of Liyue. It could even be said that nothing else appealed to her other than what she had.
Until a certain blond Traveller had came to her life.
She had never seen a man with so much focus, commitment and sheer will all in one. Ningguang admired Aether's determination and drive in re-uniting his sister when he had simply asked for help in over anything else in value when asked after he helped saved Liyue, yet she was pleasantly surprised to see that he would help anyone who needed his aid. Because of that, the Tianquan had found a man who had a lot in common with her- diligent and efficient at what he does. Because of that, he had earned her respect and gratitude.
But it all came to ahead when he temporarily became her right hand during his stay in the Jade Chamber. During this time, he was considerate, flattering and mindful to what she does, and he willingly lent his ear to hear what came from her heart, providing the assurances and support he would give her if she ever need him. That is not to say those are his only qualities that made her very fond of him.
In her eyes, Aether is quite the looker as well. She has never thought that the blonde hair and toned skin could work together- as if he were a blessing from the gods for her eyes. His golden orbs were tantalizing, something she could look forever. His small stature yet well built figure was certainly pleasant sight to her eyes. His body, which was both athletic and toned from his continuous work as an Adventurer, was a sight for sore eyes for her, and it made her heart and womanhood flutter when she saw them.
It was unsurprising that the Tianquan would feel attracted to a man like him. His voice would be the most pleasant she had ever heard. She would frequently imagine him staying beside her and cater to her needs when he served as her right hand, even on certain activities, and it was becoming a distraction to her work every now and then.
It wasn't a simple infatuation that would go away after a short while. To her, it was love, but she could not fully embrace it due to the nature of her work, and of his own commitments that would only result of her getting in his way, and she did not want to intervene of his ambition.
But her heart kept yearning for his embrace and his affection no matter what she did. She felt incomplete without him, and she felt that she couldn't continue on without him.This was an obsession she grew to have. And an ugly one at that.
He would leave Liyue sooner or later for his next journey, and Ningguang certainly did not want him to leave. The white-haired woman wanted Aether to be hers and hers only forever. She would rid his heart of all other girls he had met except her like the other business rivals that came before her. She would give him everything he ever desired, as long as he stayed with her in Liyue for eternity.
When she had heard that he and Beidou had spent a night together drinking and having quite the time together, she recalled the surge of jealousy that came within her. She would have to make her move, and fast.
Even so, she knew she could did not have any right to do so. He had his own ambitions and he would not let go of it, not until it was complete. She shook her head, wanting to sweep away such improper thoughts. She continued to walk by the streets of the city, ignoring the admiring and surprised looks of civilians who flocked to admire her, but Ningguang paid them no heed. She needed to clear her head at the meantime.
Until she saw a familiar patch of yellow hair from a distance, and it cause her heart to skip at this rare opportunity.
Is that...the Traveller?
Great...now what am I going to do?
Aether scratched the back of his head as he walked through the streets of Liyue Harbor. Right now, he had to deal with a shortage of Mora, no thanks to Paimon's spending habits when it comes to food and other among other things. Because of that, Paimon was grounded in the Serenitea Pot (despite her protests) until he could stabilize his funds in preparation for another journey, this time to Fontaine after the whole fiasco st Sumeru.
This wasn't anything new, but Paimon took it a step too far this time. There weren't any available commissions or bounties at this time, so he would have to go and try to find any other source of income, preferably from those whom he had worked for in the past.
He noticed that a few of the Milileth quickly stood in attention, and he looked as the Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing approached him, prompting Aether to do the same and straightened himself in courtesy for her.
"Lady Tianquan", Aether greeted the woman, bowing down slightly in respect. "To what I do I owe pleasure of meeting you here?"
Ningguang crossed her arms, frowning at the blonde's gesture. "I had given you permission to simply call me by my name. There is no need need for formalities, Aether", she replied, calling him by his name to prove her point.
Aether cleared his throat. "I understand, Ningguang", he corrected himself, watching as her frown shifted into a serene smile. "But is there anything that you need of assistance?"
Her red eyes stared at him so eagerly for his kindness. He is so cute...
"Actually, I should be asking you that", the woman trailed off, watching as the blonde became uncertain, or otherwise shy to speak up. "You were moping as if you need help for something. And it would be convenient if you ask for whatever reason it is"
"No need, there's nothing-"
She waved her hand at him, motioning him to stop. "It would lessen your burden if you open yourself as to what you're dealing with", Ningguang walked over him, raising his chin in order to gaze at his golden eyes. "Now tell me, do you need help at anything?"
Aether clicked his tongue, figuring how to explain this to her. "I-uh...I'm quite short on Mora. And I am hoping to find some work that would be able to provide"
He explained it as the best he could without involving Paimon. And he was surprised to see Ningguang beaming in surprise upon hearing his problem. "Is that so? I may be able to assist you if that is your concern"
"You would? But I don't want to be a burden to your work"
"Nonsense. Meet me at the Jade Chamber this evening", she proposed to him. "I am certain that we can reach...an agreement in regards to my offer of assistance,"
For a moment, the Traveller was uncertain but he did not wish to offend the Tianquan and so he did. "Very well, I'll be heading over tonight"
Ningguang smiled warmly at him. This opportunity is quite hard to come by. "Wonderful"
"Achoo!"
"Hmm? Something wrong my dear boy?", Pulcinella looked over to his junior, handing him a handkerchief, to which Tartaglia wiped his nose with it.
"No...nothing gramps..." Why do I have the feeling of deja vu all of a sudden?
It was already past sunset, and nightfall had covered the vast skies watching over Liyue. Most citizens have closed down their local businesses for the day and had returned to their homes, while dozens of street lights illuminated the streets of the harbor, with the Milelith continuing their routine patrols.
Hovering over the harbor is the rebuilt Jade Chamber, watching over the harbor while acting as the symbol of Liyue's wealth and power. In front of the door, Aether stood by as he breathed out the pressure of anticipation of him having an audience with the Tianquan. He knocked onto the door, and a few moments later, it opened to reveal one of her secretaries, Baishi.
"I'm scheduled to have a meeting with the Tianquan", he went straight to the point, handing her a letter bearing Ningguang's seal as proof. "Would this be enough?"
The secretary took her time to analyze the letter, confirming its authenticity and recalling as to what she was informed of earlier. "Yes, Lady Tianquan is waiting for you at her personal chambers. Please proceed"
He nodded at the secretary, making his way into the large chamber and descended down the stairs where he walked over to the Tianquan's personal quarters. This wasn't the first time, but Aether often found himself in a state of uncertainty, a part of him afraid that he would disappoint the woman who he had, more or less, her favor.
But now's not the time for such worries, and he knocked onto the door to inform her that he had arrived.
Ningguang was nervous and she knew it. She was trembling, breathing in and out from the pressure of meeting him here. Her body shook and had tried to calm herself down. She grabbed her temples, rubbing them as a means to alleviate her mental capacities as well as trying to maintain any sense of rationale she had left.
She had no idea what she just did. She could simply give him the Mora as easy as that, but her heart had changed her judgement at the last minute. What she was going to propose to Aether would be way too bold and risky that would surely cause the blonde to have second thoughts about her. But then, risk, no reward. And this might be her only chance that she could make him hers, and she eagerly awaited his arrival as she stared at her bedroom door.
Knock! Knock!
Her eyes snapped with excitement upon hearing his voice behind the door. "Ningguang? Are you there?"
The Tianquan took it upon herself to open the door, gazing at the blonde's eyes fondly. "I am, Aether. Please, come inside"
He did as he was told, entering the room as he marvelled the way on how it was designed. Befitting for someone like her, unsurprisingly. She motioned him towards a small ornate table with a pair of fancily designed chairs, watching him as he took his seat. "I have heard that you have arrived from Sumeru", she professed, pouring a cup of tea into his cup that he took with gratitude. "Would like to tell me a little about it before we could reach to an agreement?"
Aether placed his cup back onto the table, pondering as to what he would say to her. "It's...a bit complicated at best. But the Dendro Archon had given me information about my sister"
The Tianquan's widened a bit with interest, feeling pleased that Aether had made progress of his ambition. "Oh? What did she tell you?"
He paused for a moment. Aether couldn't exactly tell her the full details. Obviously he couldn't say that Lumine is the leader of a group that terrorized Teyvat for whoever knows how long, not that anyone would believe him either. But he could at least sound truthful to her, but not completely masking the truth.
"I know where my sister is now but I prefer to keep it a secret at the meantime, and the Dendro Archon said that further information would be at Fontaine", the blonde told the Tianquan at the best he could. Thankfully, his half-ruse and half-truth was quite convincing enough for Ningguang to believe him. "And I intend to take a break here in Liyue for a while before setting out with Paimon"
Ningguang figured where he was heading to, and she is more than willing to help him. "But financial troubles happened, then?", her heart was racing, and she found it quite difficult to try and put her thoughts in a complete sentence.
"...yes"
This is it. Her opportunity. I can't back down now...this is what you've been waiting for, her face flushed red and she felt her thighs shuddering out of their own anxiety.I cannot afford to look very demeaning to him. Focus Ningguang; it's just him, it shouldn't be difficult, right?

He gave her a simple nod at that, and that is all the she needed from him. "And as a business etiquette, if you have a desire towards a certain object, then you know that you must offer something equal in value"
Aether placed a hand over his chest. "I am prepared to whatever that you may ask of me...", he pledged.
The heart of the Tianquan raced even faster, and a scarlet hue grew further on her cheeks. "Then...will you offer me relief?"
Silence hounded her room, as Aether tried to register what she was trying to say. Sweat began to form from her brows, beginning to feel that she had made a severe mistake by asking him something so suggestive. Ningguang, for a while, dreaded the possibility of losing him because of her foolishness and prepared herself as to what he would think of her proposition.
Aether tilted his head for a bit. "I-I'm sorry?"
The Tianquan didn't know wether or not to facepalm or breathe a sigh of relief. Well, at least for now anyway. "Relief, Aether. "I...could not follow, Ninguang...", he admitted, a bit embarrassed himself that he could not know what she meant with that. "Can you be specific as to what you meant?"
Ningguang smiled at his naivete, standing up as he almost yelped in surprise when she held both of his cheeks and found himself gazing at those red eyes of hers. "What I meant, Aether...", she breathed out. "Is this..."
Without a moment to spare, Aether was taken completely taken back with his eyes threatening to go black when she pulled him into a deep, lustful kiss.
