I opened my eyes as I gasped, finding it difficult to breathe. I took deep breaths steadying my breath. I looked around to realize I was not in my room anymore instead I was in a jungle that looked too beautiful to be true. Dread filled my body as soon as the spells this enchanted forest had me broke.
"H-helloo" I called around hoping to find someone around here to help me. But my voice echoed, reminding me of horror shows. I shivered at the thought of it happening to me, what always turned out to be the fate of their protagonist. I shook my head at that thought.
Mustering up some courage I started to move in some random direction hoping to find my way out of the jungle. A cold wind blew around me as I wrapped my arms around myself against the cold. My teeth chattered. I hope I don't end up with hypothermia. I thought as I walked.
*Crunch*
I froze in mid-step and I turned around quickly.
"Who's there?" I called putting up a brave front.
I was being watched. Realization hit me hard. The leaves ruffled indicating someone was there. Without wasting a second I broke into a run not wanting to stay and find out who it was.
The figure seemed to have other plans and started following me with more quickness jumping from tree to tree.
Adrenaline pumped through my body helping me run fast. Was I scared? No! I was petrified! To me, it felt as if I was prey the shadow had set its eyes on. My heart hammered in my chest, I was now finding it hard to keep up with my pace.
The moonlight seemed to be illuminating my path. I huffed as I ran. Thoughts filled my mind. Where was I? How did I end up here? And better yet who is chasing me!?
Somehow I could tell I was in the middle of the forest. I felt as if the trees were giving me the way. I finally stopped catching my breath. Damn, I really need to work out!
I was relieved but that relief was only for a fraction of a second. In front of me, lay a pond reflecting the glorious moon. At least I was no longer being chased. Right?
Bringing myself out of my thoughts, I felt thirsty from that chase. I stepped nearer to the pond and bent down to drink some water. I drank water to my content feeling a bit refreshed. The ripples caused by me in the pool soon settled.
Like anyone thought I would be seeing my reflection but in the place where my supposed reflection should be, I saw someone else's. The shock was also evident on their face.
I wanted to step back but out something about those electric eyes seemed familiar that too were widened in shock. My hand, out of instinct reached for them and they seemed to be doing the same.
By the time I realized how close I was to the water it was too late.
*Splash*
I was in the water trying to make it to the surface but I was being pulled deeper and deeper. I struggled to hold my breath. Suddenly, I was no longer in the deep pond instead I was in...a void.
I was in a void, nothing around me just me and good old space. Now unlike before I felt calm floating in the space around me. It was better than feeling watched or drowned. Suddenly I felt the presence of an entity embrace my surroundings it was familiar yet unknown, suddenly it spoke in a powerful yet soothing voice making me tremble not out of fear but out of awe.
Awe of what exactly stood in front of me even though my vision was blinded by the lights I could still somehow
see their outline.
'IT S TIME TO WAKE UP MY CHILD AND EMBRACE YOUR DESTINY'
And then I was falling under the force of gravity.
