The Violet Book.

The rayshift was successful, and the 3 landed without problem in Paldea to begin the investigation. Well… There was one problem.

"Hey, Da Vinci… Care to explain why we ended up here?" - Ritsuka said as he slowly got himself up from the ground.

The original plan was to land right outside Mesagoza, Paldea's biggest city and Uva Academy's location, but instead they landed right into the stairs leading up towards the building. Not only was it unplanned, but also painful.

"Well… Not what I had in mind but we'll make it work. We skip a lot of walking with that" - the Caster spoke in an optimistic tone as the two Masters grunted from the pain - "Come on you two, no time to waste" -

They climbed the little bit of stairs remaining before arriving at the entrance of the Academy. The building towered over them, as the students all made their way inside, soon followed by the Masters and the Caster.

"You see, here in Uva Academy the students learn most of the subjects of a regular school, but they also learn how to fight side by side with Pokemon. For the sake of your mission, I think getting you a spot there would be very good" -

After hearing that, it didn't take long for the Masters to understand why she had decided to travel with them. She was going to play the role of their mother in order to get them accepted. How well would it work, was something they weren't too sure about.

Entering the building and walking towards the woman behind the desk, she spoke first with a smile on her face - "Hi, welcome to Uva Academy. Is there anything I can help you with?" -

"Yes, yes. We just moved into the Paldea region, and I'm looking to get my kids into the school. Do you think I could speak to the principal about that?" -

"Sure! Uva Academy is more than glad to receive new students. Let me contact Director Clavell and ask him if he's free" - the lady behind the desk said before leaving for a few seconds, with her mumbled words being heard by the 3 before she soon came back - "He said he can see you now. Follow me please" -

As she led the 3 towards the upper floor of the Academy, she spoke to them about the nature of Uva Academy. However, she told them the bare minumum, as she wanted to leave the actual explanation to the Academy's director, Clavell.

The man turned to look at them as soon as the lady left - "Oh, you're the ones seeking to enroll in Uva Academy?" -

"Yes mister Clavell. My name is Vinci, and they are my kids, Ritsuka and Tatsuko" -

Clavell took a good look at the 3 - "I can tell you're not from Paldea. You must hold us in high regards to want to send your kids instead of a school in your home region" -

"Well, we've heard a lot of good things from Uva Academy, and they were very excited to come to Paldea to become top trainers, isn't that right kids?" -

Ritsuka and Tatsuko smiled at Clavell, and he in turn smiled back.

"I'm glad that you think of us like that. Here at Uva Academy, our students are taught the best of the best, from History to Pokemon Battles. Aside from that, we have our own personal project that the students can take on, the Treasure Hunt" -

"Treasure Hunt?" - Tatsuko asked with curiosity..

"A yearly event in which the students are allowed to travel the region at their own pace, searching for their own Treasure. Maybe they wish to catch every Pokemon in Paldea, maybe they wish to take on the 8 Gyms and fight the Elite 4, or maybe they just look to discover themselves. Whatever their own Treasure is, they have a chance to search for it" -

The idea of freely roaming around Paldea was exciting to the pair of Masters. Not only would this give them a better chance at finding the creature that came to Chaldea, it would also allow them to explore a brand new world, one never seen before.

Clavell saw their faces bright with excitement and let out a small chuckle - "Seems like they're in high spirits. Well, you both are in luck, because the Treasure Hunt will begin in a few days" -

"Talk about good timing" - Da Vinci said with a smile - "Now kids, please go outside while I finish talking with Clavell. Explore the school, see all you can" -

Both of the siblings left the room and began to look around Uva Academy. First they returned to the lobby, remembering it had a huge amount of books they could read to find out more about the world.

Once there, they began to read every book they could find. Some of them contained information on Paldea's past, others talked about the Pokemon that called the region their home. Yet, above all else, one caught their attention.

Sitting on a shelf, with a strange creature drawn on the cover and a simple title: The Violet Book.

They decided to read it together. First page, it showed a picture of some of the members of the expedition to a location called 'The Great Crater of Paldea', alongside two of their Pokemon. Thanks to the books they read, they could tell the Pokemons were a Kirlia and a Luxio.

Next page opened with a drawing of the team exploring one of the caverns inside Area Zero, a location which exists beneath the Great Crater. The book explains how there they found plants and Pokemon that they never saw before, following it up with the fact that the location is unable to sustain human life.

Next page, another picture, this time of a strange and huge symbol drawn on the spot where the research team rested during their second day. Whoever wrote it questioned if it was made by the explorers of the Paldean Empire, or by something else entirely.

The next one opened with a drawing of Area Zero, and went on to explain the ways that one could use to descend, through ledges that formed a spiral.

The next one was more interesting to the pair, showing drawings of different Pokemon that the team encountered during their expedition. At the end, it mentions how they could hear strange and unknown cries from the lower parts of Area Zero.

After that, the title of the next page shocked them. It was titled 'Monsters of Area Zero', depicting a drawing of the so-called monster, and explaining that the team questioned if it was even a Pokemon at all. The final note however sent chills down the siblings' spine, saying how it mortally wounded one of the members of the crew.

The following page kept the same title, yet this time instead of a drawing, it had a photograph of the monster, albeit a blurry one. It mentions how it seems related to the Pokemon Donphan, yet it also has several differences, from its texture and way of moving, as well as its Treads of Iron.

Before the pair could read more, they were called back by the speaker, as Clavell wished for them to return to his office, as the final preparations for their inscriptions were almost done.
