BackstoryThis is an actual alternate universe with a different Patrick, He is pretty much the same as a human and is an older student at Sodor High School. Donald and Douglas (last name mcintosh after the engine's real builder) in this universe are transfer students from Scotland and have Pat in their TA and very best friend, He often hangs out with the 12s group which included the Main Eight Thomas, Edward, Gordon, Henry, James, Percy, Toby, Duck, along with Donald, Douglas, and Oliver. About 3 years ago Sir Topham Hatt (The Principal at Sodor High School) hired a Helper named Seth Vin-Diesel but after Hearing about him hurting other students and being a bit racist towards Pat (Who by the way in this universe is his nephew) Fired, about a year later he Went on a terrorist attack on the school but thanks to the combined efforts of both the 12s and Patrick and his family, He was defeated but not before losing his arm after a beam fell onto it, Now He is looking for revenge on Pat and Sir Tophamm Hatt and goes by the name of Diesel 10.
An Interesting first impressionIt was a bright September morning and the start of and other term at Sodor High School as Thomas and Percy were Talking about seeing their friends again (Well Percy was)
Thomas: Percy we spoke to them yesterday, I'm sure they remember.
Percy: Oh right, sorry.
Thomas It's ok, We have to get to class so Percy you know what we must do.
Percy: LEG IT!
Percy and Thomas raced off, They Frighten Mavis,
Mavis: Be Careful You two!
They ran past Duke,
Duke: You Little Rapscallions, huh Hey Falcon Get Back Here!
And they made Diesel (black suited student from Sussex who was here on a trial run) Drop his books.
Diesel: You two will pay for that one!
Until they reach just outside the hallway towards their class where they saw Arry and Bert (Twins from the smelters classroom and the school bullies) with Pat and a girl they never met before, She had a Dark Green uniform and upon a closer look at her face she was pretty young and also had a black eye, from what they were saying to each other it looked like Patrick was trying to stand up to Arry and Bert for hurting the girl.
Patrick: I said Back Off you two, There is no need for such brutality!
Arry: Pah, You think you can beat us, Cute! Bert! Let's turn him into Rubble!
Bert: Right On!
Thomas: Percy you head to class I'll deal with these bullies.
Percy: Ok Thomas, just try not to get in trouble again.
Thomas: No Promises (To Arry and Bert) Hey You two, Catch, Pat, Other Girl, Duck!
And as the two ducked, Thomas threw Some rocks at Arry and Bert
Arry: Ow, Get Him!
Bert: Yeah, Yeah, I know.
The twins run towards Thomas but Thomas just moves out of the way causing Arry and Bert to Hit the Wall.
Bert: This ain't over bub, come on.
And Arry and Bert scurry away
Patrick: Whoa, Thanks Thomas! I owe you one.
Thomas: Please Pat, You don't owe me anything, I was just trying to Help everyone I see, Speaking of which who might this be?
Patrick: Thomas I'd like for you to meet my cousin, Emily Hatt. Emily, This one of my good friends, Thomas Brighton.
Emily: Um, Hi
Thomas: Hi
Emily: Thanks for sticking up to me Thomas, You too Pat, you both gave your all too.
Patrick: Oh Shucks!
Thomas: Um, you guys on your way to class?
Patrick: Yeah I just need to find this little one's class
Emily: Hey, I'm not little, you're just big!
Patrick: No Emily, Murdoch is the big one, I should vouch since I have seen how hard he can hit on the football field
Thomas: (Laughs) Bruh, He knocked you down a hill with a 10o gradient, you were rolling like a boulder.
Emily: (giggles) Is that why you were in a full body cast for five weeks.
Patrick: (blushes) I thought we'd agree to never speak of that again.
Thomas and Emily laughed and laughed, and that was when Patrick saw something in them. He couldn't quite describe it but he thought those two would make fine friends, or perhaps something more…
Patrick: Oh Shoot we got to get to class! the bell goes in 10 minutes!
Thomas: Whoops, sorry I got to run see you two later.
Emily: Bye Thomas.
Later at class
Edward: There you are Thomas we were wondering where you were?
Thomas: Sorry, I had to stop Arry and Bert from hurting Pat and a new student.
James: Look at you, Always the hero.
Thomas: Hey James, I think there may be a streak of brown in your hair.
James: What! How could I have missed it oh where is it where is… WAIT A MINUTE!
Gordon and Henry: (Laughs)
Toby: Very good trick Thomas.
Percy: Hey Toby, any trouble with the morning trains
Toby: No they were as useful as ever
Duck: Yeah they always do a good job with the railways.
Thomas: Oh Hi Duck, How was your excursion to the railway museum?
Duck: It was epic, I never knew that The Great Western Railway was so rich in history, Oliver and I even had a picture with the famous poster boy for the Great Western, City of Truro.
Duck shows the picture of him and Oliver (his cousin) with the famous 4-4-0
Gordon: Oh please if you want an example of a famous steam engine then The Flying Scotsman is the first engine to reach 100 mph, that is what a real engine is.
Henry: So the engines in America aren't anything to scoff at?
Gordon: I, well… Fine, you have a point.
Patrick: Yeah I'm not that big one american locomotives, I'm more on to their Tugboat side, Seriously a Tyde Paddlesteamer (Eppleton Hall) Sails all the way across the Atlantic Ocean towards San Francisco after seemingly being scrapped a few years before that. If that ain't luck, it will be the Devil's coin flip.
Thomas: Oh, Pat Welcome back, you ok.
Patrick: Yeah, But I think you will be quite surprised which class Emily is in.
Percy: Oh that's her Name?
Patrick: Yep, and Percy did you know that she is my cousin?
Percy: No I didn't, Small World.
Professor Pug: Settle Down, Settle down now.
Students: Good Morning Professor Pug!
Professor Pug: Good morning Class, I'm glad to see everyone back after a long break. Now for some very exciting news we have two new students joining our class. Please come on in.
Emily and another girl walk in surprising Thomas as well as the rest.
Patrick: (Whispers) Hi Emily.
Emily: (Whispers) Hi Patrick
Professor Pug: I'd like everyone to meet Emily Hatt and Rosie Vulcan, Our new students.
Rosie: Hello Everybody, Nice to Meet you.
Henry: Judging by your accent, You are from America?
Rosie: Yep, New York City Born and raised.
Oliver: So What brings you to the UK?
Rosie, My cousins just moved house, as did we, My Parents thought this would be a place to continue their work.
Toby: What are your Parents Jobs?
Rosie: They are Marine Biologists. They heard that Sodor has a collection of unique sea creatures so they decided to come here to research them.
Gordon: Emily Hatt? Patrick ain't this your cousin?
Patrick: Guilty as charged.
James: Nice, We get to see a new side of yours.
Patrick: ?
James: You actually picking a fight and winning.
James, Gordon, Henry: (Laughing)
Patrick: Don't think you are so all high and mighty JAMES Remember Last Term!
James: (Blushes)
Rest the class: (laughs)
Emily: What's so Funny? What Happened Last Term?
Thomas: I'll tell you later
Sir Topham Hatt: (Over P.A) COULD THOMAS BRIGHTON, PATRICK NORRAMBY AND EMILY HATT PLEASE REPORT TO THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE, REPEAT THOMAS BRIGHTON, PATRICK NORREMBY AND EMILY HATT PLEASE REPORT TO THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE THANK YOU
Thomas and Patrick: Oh No!
A Favor too Important to FailPatrick: So (clears throat) You wanted to see us Sir's?
Vice Principal Percival: Yes We heard about how you and Thomas dealt with Arry and Bert and helped to protect Emily.
Thomas: I didn't touch them that time.
Sir Topham Hatt: Yes but you threw Rocks at them, However that is not why I have brought you three here.
Emily: Then Why Daddy.
Sir Topham Hatt: Well as you both know someone has been trying to get rid of both Me and Patrick as of late.
Thomas: Diesel 10
Sir Topham Hatt: Yes, and It has become clear to the both of us that It will not be safe for both you and Emily. So we have decided to send the both of you away.
Patrick and Emily: WHAT!
Sir Topham Hatt: That is why Thomas is here. I need to ask him a favor.
Thomas: Sir?
Sir Topham Hatt: Thomas, can Emily and Patrick stay at your place for the time being?
Thomas thought long and hard. This could be a risk since Pat is wanted by Diesel 10 as well, but both he and Emily are his friends and if he wanted to help the principal again this would be his chance.
Thomas: Yes Sir, They can stay with me, My Parents should be able to agree to this.
Patrick: Um Charles, Are you sure about this? I mean I might be fine but I don't know about Emily. She is more sensitive than me about this kind of situation.
Sir Topham Hatt: It'll be ok, You will be there to help her throughout. I know that she really looks up to you Patrick, So if you are ok with this then really there is nothing else stopping you.
Patrick: Will come and visit?
Sir Topham Hatt: Of Course I will, I'm never too far away.
Emily: O-Ok I I think I can do this.
Patrick: Atta Girl, and if you need anything Just let me know ok.
Emily: Ok
Patrick: (Holds out hand)
Emily: (returns gesture)
Patrick and Emily: (Shake hands) Cousin to Cousin, Sister to Brother, We will always be there for each other. (hug)
Thomas: Don't worry you two, I won't let anything happen to you.
Patrick: Thanks Thomas.
Sir Topham Hatt: Very well it's settled, My Butler will deliver both Patrick's and Emily's Belongings, will you be at home when they arrive?
Thomas: Yes Sir
Sir Topham Hatt: Good.
New Kids on the blockThomas, Patrick, and Emily were now waiting at the Bus Stop for the bus to Ffarquhar, when Percy and Toby came over.
Toby: There you are, Um Why are Patrick and Emily here?
Patrick: With the threat of Diesel 10 still rampant Charles thought it would be best if Me and Emily stayed at Thomas' Place for our safety.
Percy: Understandable.
Thomas: Good.
Emily said nothing, she just stared at the ground with an unhappy look on her face.
Patrick: Well I think some introductions are in order. Emily, This is Percy.
Thomas: He and I have been best friends ever since we met.
Toby, Not always, Pat you remember the Coal dust incident don't you?
Patrick: How could I forget that day? (chuckles) I will admit Thomas I think you soot black clothes better than your blue clothes
Thomas and Percy: (Laughs)
Emily: ?
Patrick and Toby begin recounting the tale when the two of them snuck into the coal yard and how they got all sooty afterwards, whilst they were chatting James, Gordon, and Henry came up to Thomas.
James: Geez Thomas already has a brother and a girlfriend.
Gordon: What are you doing taking all the women from us Thomas
Thomas: What are you two talking about?
Henry: Didn't Percy tell you, The new girl Rosie has a huge crush on you, she wrote I love Thomas all over her note book.
Thomas: Bumpers and Buffers. (Facepalms)
Patrick: Hey! The only reason me and Emily are with Thomas is because we have to stay with him for our safety, where is your excuse!?
Henry: We will shut up.
Patrick: Good, now I think over there is your bus so please shoo.
And The three of them left as The Bus for Ffarquhar arrives to pick up the others.
Bertie: Hey Thomas, And Patrick, nice to see you again.
Patrick: Bertie I haven't seen you since our last rematch.
Bertie: I bet I can beat you again.
Patrick: Unlikely.
Emily: Um?
Patrick: When I first visited Thomas' neighborhood, I was introduced to Bertie here. The three of us had a race all the way to school and Me and Thomas managed to win by the smallest amount of luck.
Emily: (Huh) You have some serious History, even I didn't know about.
Patrick: Emily my dear that is just the tip of the iceberg.
Emily: Yes, you said that James did something back during last term?
Patrick: Oh yes so What happened was the janitor Hector was blocked by snow and was running low on coal to keep him and his family warm, so James stole Sir Topham Hatt's car as well as a whole sack full of coal and tried driving towards his home.
Thomas: He ended up crashing it into a ditch but he was lucky to be saved by Hector himself, Your Father was very cross with him but he appreciated that he was trying to do the right thing.
Emily: (giggles) Now that's something.
Thomas and Patrick: Believe us when we say, you ain't seen nothing yet.
And the Five of them laughed and laughed all the way to Ffarquhar but Pat and Emily still felt a bit unsure (more so with Emily).
Inner thoughts take overBertie: So long you two, perhaps one day we can have the rematch.
Patrick: One day we will Bertie, one day we will.
As the trio walked towards Thomas' house, Patrick and Emily looked at each other, then at Thomas and then at the ground. Thomas understood why they did that but at the same time, he felt sorry for the two of them.
Annie and Clarabel: Welcome Big Brother, Hi Patrick.
Patrick: Hello Little ones, Good to see you again.
Thomas: Are Emily's and Patrick's stuff here?
Clarabel: Yep they are on the Kitchen Bench.
Thomas: Good, and Mom and Dad on another business trip?
Annie: Yep, they haven't agreed yet to having them stay here.
Patrick: (Under his breath) At least that's somewhat good news.
Annie: Hmm?
Patrick: (Trying to catch himself) Um, Uh Nothing uh uuh, Oh You two better run before the Boogie Man gets you.
Annie and Clarabel: Ah Run away Run away.
Patrick: he he he, hmm?
Patrick and Thomas turn to see Emily Face down on the dining table and hear crying coming from her.
Thomas: Emily? You Ok?
Emily: No I'm Not ok, My life has been crushed, I might never see my family or home ever again.
Emily cried even more, tears poured down her face even harder than before. Thomas turns to Pat who was just staring out into the world, Thomas felt sorry for the two of them. He knew what it was like to have parents not be there for you in your hour of sorrow, he remembers the Great Waterton Disasters when he got stuck in the mines.
Patrick; Riddle me this Thomas, What has a beginning but no end? Will we see our family again?
Thomas: Hey come here Pat, I'm sure you two will be ok. Just give Sir Topham Hatt some time, I'm sure he will have Diesel 10 caught in no time and then you two can go home, in the meanwhile why don't you two make yourselves at home, Our home is your home.
Emily and Patrick looked at Thomas, revealing two soaking faces wet from tears. The tears started to come up faster from them both, Emily got out of the chair and they both hugged Thomas.
Patrick and Emily: It ain't fair! We don't want to lose our family!
Patrick started to calm down whilst Emily was still crying until they both felt something touch their faces. It was Thomas using a soft tissue to dry their tears. He gave a warm smile.
Thomas: (quietly) You won't lose your family.
Patrick: But How do ye know for sure?
Thomas: I just know. I can't really explain it, it's just a feeling I have.
Emily: That's not really reassuring.
Thomas: I know but, Don't worry about it plus, I swore to take care of you and I intend to keep that oath to the very end.
Pat and Emily: Promise?
Thomas: Cross my heart, hope to fly, Stick a cupcake in my eye.
Patrick: Hm, Thanks Thomas, We sorely needed that.
Emily: Yeah, Thanks Thomas.
Thomas: No Problem you two, I supposed that is my payment to you Patrick for saving your life.
Patrick: Wait what but I… Hmph No Fair I had a great Idea too.
The three of them laughed and laughed, showing that Patrick and Emily will be just Ok.
Loving family for the meantimeThat night Thomas came to check on Pat and Emily in their room.
Thomas: You two ok in there?
No reply, Thomas peeks through the crack and sees Pat and Emily tucked in and already fast asleep.
Thomas: (he he eh)(whispers) Good night you two.
Thomas then goes off to see Annie and Clarabel, They weren't ready to nod off yet, They wanted a story.
Thomas: Ok Ok, Let me guess you two want to hear the story of Lady the Magical Legend, as it is the same one Dad tells you.
Annie and Clarabel: Bingo
Thomas: Ok then, Once upon a time the people of Sodor were blessed by a very special gift, a magical lady that can grant any wish and make the impossib;e possible. But one day an evil man came in wanting to destroy her, but using her magical abilities she changed the man's mood and soon afterwards they had fallen in love. They lived happily for many years afterwards and had kids of their own until the day when the lady disappeared, some say she is hiding over in Muffle Mountain in the states and whoever finds her will be granted one of their wildest wishes, who knows perhaps someday it could be you.
And just as His Father did, Annie and Clarabel were fast asleep, Thomas tucked them in and before turning towards his room he looked back to Emily and Patrick's room and smiled.
Thomas: Don't you two worry, I won't let anything happen to you, A Thomas Promise.
(I know that's a reference towards All Engines Go but hey the names catchy, sue me)
And with that Thomas heads off to his room ready for an interesting new point in his Life.
Meanwhile at Crovan's GateDiesel 10: (Mm hm hm hm)
Splatter: (enter Splodge) You wanted to see us Boss?
Dodge: Yeah, What do you want from us this time?
Diesel 10: Yes, I have an important task for you, Splodge.
Splatter: Um Actually it's Splatter.
Dodge: Yeah and Dodge.
Diesel 10: And I Told you I got no time to say both names. Now Shut up and Listen.
Now you know that one of the many thorns in my side is none other than Charles Fatty Fat Hatt! I want you to spy on him and Patrick Norombussom. He too is a huge thorn in my side. I want you to spy on Fat Hatt first but if nothing useful comes up then switch towards Patrick. Any important information you get you send straight back to me. Got it.
Splatter: Yes boss!
Dodge: You can count on us.
Diesel 10: Good! Now GO AND SPY YOU NINCOMPOOPS!
