Chapter 3: Killing and Relishing the Hunt; The 2 Female Hunters and the Friend

The Walled City

The Walled City was more clean and advanced than the slums. The streets were clean, and with them, plants growing while vegetation did grow on some walls, but no office buildings. Vehicles had a hover function as they flew or drove around with their wheels folding in and activating some kind of hover function. There was a monorail system that webbed the city in areas, while towers nearly touched the skies. The people were well-dressed and had families, never wanting for nothing. Truly this was something similar to paradise. Though for those there, they were far from satisfied.

Apartment Complex: Glass Onion

Apartment 7781

Apartment 7781 was clean and quaint, with a dip in living room sofa system, a glass view of the city and the ruins. At the moment, one of the occupants were about, walking around to the kitchen. She was a young woman of eighteen, Caucasian, slender but physically amazing, even with a B cup chest, slender legs and flawless skin. She had blonde yellow hair swept to the left with dazzling blue eyes to boot. She wore black work out panties, a crop top midriff white shirt that showed her underboobs, and black socks. She was Kera, one of the occupants of the room, along with her sixteen-year-old sister, Sylvia.

At the moment, sleeping in a comfy white and big bed was another female of eighteen. She was a young woman of eighteen, Hispanic with tan olive skin, slender but physically amazing, even with a B cup chest, slender legs and flawless skin. She had short, Wenge colored hair; her hair fell under the FIA classification of 2b, which had shorter waviness and more distinct S-waves. She had a pair of black string on panties, black thigh high socks, and a white shirt that was off while she lay on her chest. She was Aina, another occupant of the apartment.

"Aina," Kera called out as she got two bowls of cereal made up, "You up, girl? We're gonna go over the job list."

Aina groaned as she got up, looking exhausted, as she groaned, and picked the shirt up. She sat up as she put her shirt on, as she slowly shifted and walked to the kitchen, groaning, as she walked or shuffled to the kitchen counter, "Geez, I hate mornings. Kera, why now?"

"Well, since when did your DD shrink to a B," Kera look down and pointed with a spoon.

Aina looked down and sighed, as she saw her bust, "Dang. That job really took too much."

She graciously took the bowl, as the two walked over to the couch with Kera holding a holo-pad, "It's not your fault. Jobs with Darkham have been a bit slow with those companies. Now we're scrounging for relics."

The two sat down, as Aina looked at the jobs, and immediately got disappointed, "Wow. Relic hunting. And in places that might be dried up." She then looked to Kera eating as she asked, "Seriously, can't we go on one of those Monster Extermination jobs?"

"We could, but don't forget, Miles Brom is still squeezing us out due to that... stunt he pulled on you," Kera said. "Not to mention he's only squeezing us because of you punching him."

"Hey, he wanted me to let him grope my breasts or be his mistress," Aina fumed. "The guy's a dirty scumbag dressed nice."

"And because of that, we're with less pay," Kera said, and sighed, "Due to that, we might be having to sell most of our gear to even make pay with rent. Not to mention your medical bills."

Aina looked down at her chest, and knew what she meant, "Yeah. Well, we wouldn't be needing pay if that jackass didn't try to screw with us."

Kera smirked as she pointed out, "No worries, if we can make it out with a few jobs, we should be able to afford not just rent, but also nano-packs."

"If you say so," Aina said still sore about the groping, "Just once, I'd like to have a client that isn't a jerk, a pervert, or both!"

Kera shrugged, "I wouldn't care if he's a pervert, I'd welcome it. Just want it to be someone I like."

Aina then looked at the jobs, as she pointed, "Wanna try the LA Beach ruins?"

"If there's nowhere better to look," Kera said in an uninterested tone.

"Well, we could start there, and then head on over to the LA ruins," Aina said, as she finished her breakfast, "I think there's been a lot of buzz over there."

Kera shrugged, "Alright. Relic Hunting in those areas it is."

Aina then slid over as she smirked, "And if we get lucky, we might find us some weapon caches. You know there are military spots and Law Enforcement ruins."

"So shower and suit up in an hour?" Aina stood up, as she walked to the bathroom. "Save some hot water for me and Slyvie," Kera said, "And she's still sleeping!"

"Then Don't yell," Aina said disappearing in her room, with her clothes thrown to be seen.

Kera sighed as she nodded, "She really needs to find a boyfriend."

Later On

LA Ruins

Meanwhile, that day, Max and Allison were scrounging about on practice. Allison was helping Max practice long range sniping shots.

One of a sniper's greatest assets is the ability to remain stealthy, Allison said to Max, You must learn to find the best hiding spots when picking your snipping position. Also, sunlight can cause a shining effect during the day that reveals your location to the enemy.

"Understood," Max said while trying to remember all the lessons Allison was teaching him.

Allison then decided to activate a special feature of their contract. She smiled as she pointed at the other side of a 1 mile spot, as she said, "Try aiming for that rotten can on that desk in that building. Up on the 30th floor."

Max did as she asked and saw the can with the scope. But he noticed that his vision had also changed. He could see the can clearly as though he was right in front of it even though the cat was still thirty levels above him. "Allison, there's something wrong with my vision," Max asked in an alarm tone, "Did you do something to my eyes?!"

"Wait for it," Allison smiled. Suddenly, it was as if like being part of a video game, his vision showed a red and green square to which the green outer square blinked, as she said, "Now do you see a green square blinking?"

Max nodded, "Yeah?"

"Focus on that one," Allison said. He did so... and suddenly, it was like his vision zoomed at the can, as if it was in his hands instead of a mile away.

"What-What is this," Max asked in alarm.

"It's one of the benefits of the contract between the two of us," Allison explained, "It's a zooming function. You can see the can that's locked into your sights by the red indicator, correct? It should be easy to shoot it now."

Max followed her instructions and prepared to fire. A blue line appeared in his vision that went from him to the can. "You should be seeing a blue line now," Allison continued, "It's a prediction line for the bullet. If you line in with the target, your chances of hitting the target increases." Max pulled the trigger and fired. He lost his footing from the force of the shot and the bullet ended up hitting the wall above the can.

"I missed," Max said disappointingly.

Allison smiled, "well, that's why practice makes perfect." But Allison looked around as she asked, "I know I'm okay with just us, but I was kinda hoping Emmy would be off today."

"She said she has to do a shift and will meet up with us later," Max said as he readied himself to try again, "She also said something about checking her connections for new equipment."

Allison thought on that and sighed, looing disappointed, "Dangit. I was really hoping for some girl time with her."

"Weren't you shooting her death glares yesterday," Max asked her making Allison jump a little. "That was because I was assessing if she was trustworthy or not," Allison said in her defense.

Max was a bit certain of it at that, but he figured it must have been a different reason. It seemed to dawn on Max.. that Allison was jealous around girls. Though he didn't understand why she was at the time, seeing as it wasn't feasible for a girl to want to be with someone out of the slums. But in retrospect on that first night, it seemed Emmy couldn't stop wanting to talk to Allison more. And oddly enough, despite the jealousy of the A.I. Ally seemed to really like Emmy, and vice versa. He figured that this might work out between them.

Suddenly, an explosion was heard almost 2 miles from their location.

The two looked towards the sound of the explosion as smoke rose into the sky from where the explosion occurred at. "What was that," Max asked as he was about to run towards it, but Allison stopped him.

"I'll check it out, wait here," Allison said as she flew off to investigate the explosion.

Her optics zoomed in, and using any camera systems still hooked in, she managed to get a gander at a dust cloud, but no movement. She shrugged, "not enough intel on that spot. Maybe..."

"Hey, I see a vehicle from afar, but not near the explosion," Max said as he was looking the other way.

Allison floated close to him, as she used the zoom function too, and spotted an armored Jeep trekking through, as she saw it too, and got a glimpse as well, "There are 2 girls. Hunters, maybe."

He looked to Allison and asked, "Think they might be pursuing us?"

"I'm not sure yet," Allison said as she observed the two girls, "At a first glance, they seem to the ones that have been attacked." Allison noticed that the girls seemed to be wounded from the blast and were doing their best to recover from it. 'If they are the ones being targeted, who's attacking them,' Allison thought to herself as she continued to observe the area.

Max holstered his AAH rifle, and immediately began to get his gear up, "Best to play it safe, we shoudl head to the Ruins than here." He then slipped on his pack, as he said, "In case they're not friendlies. At least in the ruins they won't be able to use that vehicle."

Meanwhile

In the vehicle, the two girls were somewhat bruised up from an earlier ruin relic hunt. Kera was wearing a skin-tight full-body suit from neck to toe, built for stealth and sniper. She wore yellow boots with yellow trimmed and black kneepads, with black heeled boots, and two black boosters on her calves, her outer thighs had yellow guards on them with black clip holsters, while she had hip black holsters, and a black and yellow combat knife on her right butt cheek. Her suit was almost very revealing with honeycomb micro patterns on her spandex suit, and had yellow fingerless thick gloves with black fingers on them, yellow elbow guards, and on top she had a yellow armor guard on her breasts, yellow shoulders that stopped at her shoulders with black straps on them, a yellow pack in back, and a yellow hoodie, while she also had a gray scouter on her right eye for sniping.

Aina was also wearing a full body black skin tight suit that showed off ehr figure, with a strap atop her breasts collar bone, to which she had magenta wrist cuffs, magenta thigh holsters, two magenta marks on her hips, a large windbreaker-like jacket, that was lined with a magenta fabric and had two large cargo pockets on either side of the jacket.

At the moment, Aina looked worse for wear, as her chest was now down to AA, as Kera asked, "Aina, how are you?"

"Don't worry about it, I'll be fine," Aina said, but looked worse for wear. "We just need to get some change, that's all."

Kera looked to her in concern as she thought, 'Her chest has gotten smaller. Not a good sign for a remodeled human who uses nanites. They're not just for function for combat but health too.'

Kera looked again at Aina's face, though she seemed strong, she was trying to hide it as best she could, 'I thought if we took a safe ruin to explore, it wouldn't cause problems. As long as nothing bad happens, she'll have enough nanites stockpiled for now...'

But Kera sighed heavily, at this "If this keeps up, with nothing, I'll have to sell my equipment and forcefully stock up your nanites, okay?"

Aina looked at her in shock, as she argued, "We don't' have enough money for new gear. If you do that, we'll lose our means to explore the ruins. You know that!" Kera nodded, as Aina shook her head, "Kera, let's just hope that the rumor of this ruin is true."

They had heard rumors of a Hunter finding some pretty good stuff there. And even more so, more hunters going in as well. It had to be a sure stockpile of relics for what they could find.

LA Ruins

Meanwhile, Max and Allison had gotten some pretty good distance as they had traversed deep within the ruins, as he was making tracks. Using the Augmented Suit, Max was able to parkour jump from one building to another. Scale the walls with ease by digging into it and climbing up. For a while, they got to a good vantage resting point, as Max sat down, as his suit cooled down, the boots hissing out steam from the calves as they took a breather.

"We should be safe here for the time being," Allison said as she stared at Max who catching his breath.

"Let's hope so," Max said as he pulled out his rifle and began to use the scope as a binocular to look around. He saw other hunters looking through the area for something. "There a lot more hunters out here today," Max said as he observed a number of hunter groups looking through the ruins, "I wonder what kind of artifact would bring out so many hunters."

"Let's see," Allison said as she looked at the groups of hunters. Her eyes glowed blue as hacked their communication devices. She could hear all the transmissions of all the hunter groups. After a few moments, she found her answer. "They aren't looking for relics. This gives us an advantage as the artifacts in this area have been found."

"Then why are they here," Max asked her.

"A rumor. They're talking about a rumor about a 'slum kid' finding a really rare relic in near the pit," Allison answered having said the 'slum kid' with annoyance, "So they came looking to see if it's true or not."

"When they say 'slum kid,' do they mean me," Max asked her.

Allison nodded with a glare on her face. She didn't like that these hunters were insulting her partner like that. "If seems they're hoping to find something rare as well or for you," Allison said having come to that conclusion.

Suddenly, the same explosion happened nearby, as said hunters were scattered about. Max zoomed in, and saw what the cause of it was. A giant tiger-like beast, twice the size of a tank, with missile launchers on its hips, metallic arms and legs, with knife-like blades on its claws, and four eyes, two for each side, causing all the trouble. And now, it was attacking the hunters.

"Is that a modified Hunter Beast," Max asked Allison as the two saw the creature that was the cause of the explosions.

Allison blinked, watching it suddenly zip in one area, and then to another in a blink of an eye, as it slashed two hunters, "It's got a sadavan Accelerator."

Max blinked, "A what?"

"It's a cybernetic implant that enables your body's nervous system speed up for a mili-second," Allison explained, "Though the way this thing is moving, it can do that more than one time, which it normally exhausts a person after 3 or 5 times of use." Then she theorized, "It must have a power source able to recharge it thereby bypassing the limitation."

"They put something like that into an Battle Hound," Max asked in shock, "Like the giant weapons aren't enough!"

Allison then said, "Maybe we should move again."

Max nodded, "Agreed. It's just getting a bit too dangerous today to move around."

Much Time Later

Elsewhere

Max was on another building, surveying the area with binoculars instead of zooming in and out. It was getting a bit tricky to clear up focus, as he looked around, "Doesn't seem like there's any hunters in the area. So far."

"I've checked back, and it seems that the Hunters managed to take down that Cat beast," Allison said. And then smirked, "Also it seems that most of them thought it was just a rumor in the end and are heading home."

"Lucky us," Max said.

"But those two female hunters are still around," Allison replied, as she found from the systems, the two were still searching around. "The same ones in the vehicle. They're pretty good to get this close on your location."

Max shook his head, as he went to get his gear, "Then let's go. I really don't wanna fight anybody today if I can avoid it."

"Agreed," Allison said, "The more people see you in action, the further the rumor about you will spread."

Max nodded, but then Allison stopped as she said, "Wait. I'm picking up movement, and..." She then blinked, "It seems a gang of hunters branched out from the main..." But then paled, "Oh no."

Max blinked, "What?"

"They killed the other team, took their stuff and the relic, and now are making their way to the girls," Allison said.

Max arched an eyebrow, as he asked, "And how do you know that?"

"When all the other Hunters went back home, the Grey Mist was getting thicker. Guess these guys are hyped up on something; they're not making logical decisions."

Max groaned, "They must be part of a gang. Usually guys like that get hyped on a drug and do the most dumbest or vilest things yet." He then began to walk away, but then another explosion was heard as he groaned, "Let me guess: Another Cat beast?"

Allison nodded, "Yep."

"The gang and beast heading to the two," Max asked.

"Most likely," Allison nodded.

Max froze with a calm demeanor. He then pulled up the hood of his suit, and then pulled up from the turtleneck collar as it made a blue and black breathing mask, which distorted his voice to be deeper and metallic, "Bring it on."

Meanwhile

The two female hunters were traversing the ruins, as Aina stood guard, carrying an Anti-Tank rifle as she carried it like a normal AK-47, while Kera browsed around with her scouter. Though out of the sky a yellow falcon-like drone flew about on wings with jet engines to the drone. It finally hovered down, landing on Kera's shoulder as she stood up, while it deactivated it, "Aina, we can't go any further than this."

Sensing the caution in her voice, Aina nodded, "Fair enough."

Kera sighed, "Sorry, Aina. Due to teh costs, I had to degrade my drone's search range. We should've withdrawn sooner than this."

Aina walked over to Kera and playfuly nudged her, smiling, "It's okay... we just have to be careful."

However, they heard from a distance, and growing closer...

"Gunshots," Kera paled.

Suddenly, the sound of gunshots was drawing closer like an approaching lightning storm. The two girls hid themselves behind some rubble to avoid being seen. "Kera, did you get anything," Aina asked her, "How many are there?"

"Wait a second," Kera said in an alarmed tone, "There are eight hunters and one big monster fighting each other!" Kera's eyes widened even more in shock from what her drone showed her, "And they're coming this way!"

Aina looked at her comrade in alarm as the sounds of battle drew closer to their position.

Kera fumed, as she got her assault AAH rifle ready, and berated, "What the heck are they thinking? They're just provoking it. No way with what they got can they even beat it!"

Aina sighed as she got her rifle at teh ready, "Dangit, why now?" She then walked in front of Kera as she got the rifle ready, "We don't take it down now, it's gonna cause problems."

Kera asked, "You sure?"

"I'll kill it with one shot," she said as the hunters were close, and the beast at the ready, "GET OUT OF THE WAY!"

She fired with one shot, which shook the ground below them, as the projectile flew passed the Hunters, and right into the brain and body of the Beast. It blew up the head and shoulders like nothing, as it skidded on the ground like a bloody mess.

"That should do it," Aina said as she steadied herself from the recoil of the gunshot. As the hunters ran past her, something suddenly fell at the two girls' feet. 'They dropped something,' Aina thought in alarm as the two began to back away out of instinct, 'Was it intentional?'

After a second, the dropped item came into view and was revealed to be- 'Hand grenade,' both girls thought in alarm.

Out of instinct, Aina hugged Kera as the blast went off. The two were pushed back sent flying as an eruption of fire spread out from the blast point. After a moment, the explosion ended and the two girls on the ground barely unconscious from the blast.

The explosion was shown to fly all overhead in a blaze of white light and black smoke. Though as the two female hunters were down, things went black as time... seemed to change back.

In a lavished bedroom, a 13-year-old Aina was in bed, wearing a beautiful white nightgown, a hairband, and a golden pendant; a keepsake from her mother. though... next to her bed was a huge respirator system. Aina's face looked weakened and sickly. At the moment, she felt a hand slide into hers, as she weakish turned to see a 13-year-old Kera, with a little girl with blonde hair, pigtails and a teddybear, both looking worried at her. "Kera.. Sylvia... you guys are here..." Aina said, smiling weakly.

Kera tearfully smiled, "Of course I'd come. You're like my and Sylvie's sister." Sylvia looked worried, "Aian, please get better."

"I heard that they can use nanites to treat any illness in the Eastern District," Kera said while holding Aina's hand in support, "They said that it'll reinforce your body on a cellular level."

Kera stared at her friend who was so unless she needed the machines to stay alive, "I promise, I'll get you the treatment."

Much Time Later

Aina was now in the recovery period after the procedure and was showing signs of improvement already. "For you to be that energetic already, as expected of the Eastern District's technology," Kera said as she approached her friend who was on the medical chair.

Sylvia ran over to Aina who sat up on the edge of the bed, as she jumped, "Aina!"

And glomped at the girl. Aina giggled, "Good to see you too." But then yelped as she felt Sylvia nuzzle and grope her... bigger chest now, as she blinked, "Sylvia?"

"Aina?" She then looked up and asked, "Why's your chest bigger now?"

Kera pulled Sylvie away and eyebrowed her friend's... bigger chest, "Yeah, that wasn't there before."

Aina gulped and covered her chest as she said, "W-Well, I decided to use my chest as the nanomachine depository. After all, if I used external cartridges, then I'll have to go through more body modifications..."

Kera smirked as she nuzzled her, "That's a good excuse.."

Aina blushed, "Geez..."

Present Time

Kera suddenly woke up from the dream as she sat up. But as she did, she saw the barrel of a gun was pointed at her. Surrounding her were hunters pointing their guns at her. 'That's right,' Kera thought in alarm, 'We got blasted by the hand grenade,' Kera thought as she recalled what happened, 'Aina?!' Kera saw her friend nearby without any hunters near her. She was still unconscious from the blast. "AINA," Kera cried out for her friend. The moment, Aina heard her voice, her eyes shot open and she was awake again. Just as she was getting up, two hunters ran toward her to detain her.

Suddenly, Aina shot up, and pulled out two black modified pistols with similar clip extensions like Max's but also with extra ammo at the front, as she began to fire at them, causing them to scatter, as she ran to find cover, as she slid to the side. Though Aina winced, as she grumbled, 'Darnit. That grenade exhausted most of my nanite reserve...' but then she blinked, as she looked around, 'Kera?! Where is she?!'

"HEY, THE OTHER GIRL," a Hunter with a poncho, a crazed look in his face, and sporting two rifles shouted, holding Kera's left, while a more their age male Caucasian with slicked back black hair and a tattered hoodie, pointing a modified 9 MM at Kera's head. The Poncho screamed, "THROW DOWN ALL YOUR WEAPONS AND COME OUT! OTHERWISE WE'LL KILL THIS BITCH!"

Aina looked shocked at this, as she realized what was gonna happen, but Kera shouted, "Aina! Just forget about me and kill these assholes! Don't listen to..!"

But was smacked in the back of the head as the guy shouted, "Shutup!" Poncho called out, "Get out from there, or do you want her dead!"

Aina sweatdropped and worried, 'I could run, but I'll leave Kera. And Sylvie needs her sister. Dammit! This shit stinks!'

Another hunter with a few scars and a stubble shouted, "You girls are here because of that rumor, eh? that lone hunter finding those pricy relics too, eh?" He then smirked, "Why not team up with us and we'll find the bastard! Lately he's been hard to track down. We also can't afford to go back empty-handed, so we'll take your equipment. Why not drop your stuff and come on out."

Aina gritted her teeth, 'I gotta safe her... but how?'

However, the Poncho kicked Kera down on her knees, as the black haired guy aimed his gun at her, "That's it, time to die!"

"WAIT!"

They all stopped as they saw the two pistols thrown outside in the open. At that moment, Aina walked out slowly, with her hands behind her head, and her coat opened, showing she had no other weapons on her.

Kera looked at her and pleaded, "Aina... no..."

Though Aina sadly smiled at her friend, unable to do anything as she slowly made her way, only 20 feet from them. But inside, Aina was scheming something good, 'It's okay, they've lowered their guards. With my augmented strength, I can kill them as long as I can get close enough...'

"Now hold up," the third hunter demanded as he aimed his gun at her, "Stop right there!" Aina did so without risking Kera's life, as the hunter demanded, "Take off your Augmented suit!"

Aina arched an eyebrow, 'Augmented...? Wait, they think...'

"To think that you got out unscathed after taking that blast at the range you both were at," the stubble Hunter smirked and mocked, "That's pre-grade equipment you got there." He then aimed at her as he said, "I don't want to be beaten to death with that enhanced strength of yours. So take it off... slowly."

One of the hunters, masked, said, "Really?"

"C'mon, man. We barely get anything from women," the Hunter argued. "This is like a bonus."

Aina sighed, as she slid off her jacket, as she looked at them, 'Is he seriously mistaking my protective cloth for an Augmented Suit?' She dropped the jacket, and blushed a bit, knowing full well it had to come off, as she unzipped it, all the way down to her bellybutton, 'If none of them have realized the fact I'm a Modified Human with enhanced strength.. then this might be my chance.' She pulled off her sleeves, and pulled the suit down to her hips... showing she wasn't wearing any underwear at all.

At that moment though all the guys whistled or made fun of the sneering girl at them. "HAHAHAH, WHAT THE HELL," The stubble Hunter cackled, "You're flat as a board!"

"Ha," Poncho mocked, "She looks like a guy without a dick!"

Though Kera snapped, feeling her friend being mocked, "DON'T YOU TAUNT HER! YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT'S SHE'S GONE THROUGH!"

However, the black haired Hunter smacked her back at the head, "SHUT UP!"

Aina winched, 'Kera... just hold on...' She then stood up, fully naked and barefooted, as she held her hands up, "Okay... I don't have my suit."

BANG BANG!

Time seemed to slow down, as both girls went wide eye in shock... as Aina was shot in her thighs, as she looked in shock. She collasped on her knees, and hands as she cried out, "GAAAAH!"

Kera looked in shock and horror, as one of the hunters from the back fired. He had two cybernetic arms, a hood over his head with a poncho, and had a modified hand cannon on his hand, as he smirked.

Though Poncho shouted, "Bubba! What the hell?"

Bubba smirked, as he pulled his hood down, exposing his left side burnt to a nightmare, as he smirked, "You dumbasses. Didn't you notice? She's an enhanced Human. That suit's just Protective Cloth. It's got good defense, but it's not Augmented. If you don't wanna get twisted in half, by her arms or legs if you try and rape her, just give up on a gang bang with her."

Kera managed to break free as she bolted to Aina, "Aina!" She slid down to her as she pleaded, "Aina! Are you okay?" She held her in her arms as she saw the buck shot in the thighs being pushed out while the wounds were slowly healing, as Kera paled, 'The nanites are focusing on healing her. But she's in no condition to fight.'

Aina though weakly looked at Kera, and smiled, "Sorry, Kera...I screwed up..."

Kera though didn't care, as she hugged her friend, and almost cried. The hunters though began to swarm them, as Bubba smirked, Alright then..." But then noticed the grey mist coming in, as he said, "Okay, Grey Mist is coming, so get done with your playthings, already!"

BANG!

Suddenly, all time seemed to stand still as the Grey Mist was coming in. But instead of noticing the fog... they noticed Bubba's head had been semi-obliterated, as only his jawline was there, as he fell over, dead as a doornail.

The Poncho Hunter was the first to react, as he screamed, "WHAT THE FUC...?!"

A weaselly Hunter shouted, "An attack?"

But suddenly was shot from afar between the eyes, causing him to drop his rifle. It slid all the way to Kera as she blinked at this surprise.

The black-haired Hunter turned to Kera, preparing to shoot, as he shouted, "You...! You got another Hunter friend, don't y...!"

BLAM

There wasn't much time, as Kera, with a glare of rage in her eyes, as she held Aina's body close, fired right at the man, unleashing an unblemished rage on them.

Kera managed to drag Aina away to a safe area, as she kept firing, aiming to scatter the hunters, who also fired, but all directions to snipe whoever it was that killed two of their guys. Kera looked around to find this out too, as she thought aloud, "Who's shooting at these guys?! What the heck's going on here?"

Nearby

Hidden in one of the buildings not too far, with the Grey Mist hiding him, Max was aiming for the Hunters, not via any electronic eyesight, but with his own, though with Allison's help as he asked, "Allison, how many are left?"

"3 confirmed dead, five remain, excluding the two girls," Allison reported.

Max nodded, as he got ready. He couldn't see them via electronics, but there was one sure way to spot them. Their shadows. And the way they popped the ammo like candy indicated that they were the ones he shot at. "Though I advise you move. We'll keep on shooting at them from outside their searching device's range."

Max bolted as he and Allison ran for a different angle and slid into position, as Allison went on, "It's really hard for any of them to find you under this mist."

"Which is exactly why it's perfect," Max said as he spotted another hunters, he said, "And with your help, they won't know where I am with different spots."

"WHERE IS THIS GUY?! SHOW YOURSELF," another renegade hunter shouted.. only to get shot from shouting.

Allison led Mad upstairs as he flanked them. Though at the moment, Aina and Kera were hiding, with Aina still recovering and weakened. The other hunters were scared stiff, even as they were getting picked off one by one. Though through all this... Max was having a dangerous glint in his eyes, his teeth gritting as they were exposed. But not with a smile... it was more of an angry sneer. One seething as flashes of him being constantly abused and picked on by Hunters. Just. Like them.

'Bullies... That's all they are,' Max thought as he prepared to take another shot, 'Putting others down to feel strong. Well, not it's your turn to know what it's like to be weak.'

Allison looked at Max. She was happy he was growing stronger, but she was concerned that maybe he was becoming too strong too fast. If he wasn't careful, he could become the very thing he's fighting against.

Max then asked, 'Okay, who's the next target?'

But he heard only silence as he turned to Allison, who seemed a bit huffy at this, as she looked away, trying to hide her concerned for him. Max blinked, 'Uh.. Allison?'

"You've been in a bad mood for a while now," Max said nervously, "Is it bothering you that much because I'm helping those girls?"

"No, I think helping people is a good thing too," Allison said in a stoic tone, "However..." Then, Allison got close to Max causing him to step back until he hit a wall as Allison got closer to him. "You agreed to take my request," she said in a serious tone, "And you're not that strong yet. So it'll be troublesome if you die before you can complete my request. So putting yourself in danger for total strangers that you never met or talked with before. I'm just wondering if it's really something you should do or not. It'll be a problem for me if you die. I told you that before haven't I?"

Max was nervous from the lecture he was receiving from his partner. This was new to him as she was giving him a real tongue lashing for putting himself at risk like this on a whim. "...Yes," Max said after getting over the shock of her words. 'That's right. Allison's support is up-front payment after all,' Max thought to himself, 'So if I die, it'll be the same as if I run away from my promise and responsibility with the up-front payment.'

"Not only that. If hate is your motivator, you'll end up becoming what you hate," Allison said with a look of worry in her eyes, "I said you have to be strong but remember that being strong is also a responsibility. That hate is a part of you but never let it consume you." Max was left speechless by her words. She was worried that he was making him a monster himself. It was true that he hated bullies, but he knew he couldn't let himself become one with all the power he was getting.

"Right... I'm sorry," Max said softly, as he slouched.

Allison studied him for a moment before pulling away. "Alright than," Allison said, "As long as you understand. Now, let's finish this before we risk the hunters getting reinforcements."

"GAAAAH!"

The last hunter showed up suddenly up the wall and slashed at Max. He managed to dodge it, long enough to kick himself away. Max got a good look at his opponent, and like the others, he was male, wearing dirty black and grey Augmented suit armor, a dirtied brown cloak, but he had four cybernetic limbs, consisting of both arms and legs, a cybernetic right eye, blonde hair, and a crazed look in his blue eye. He had on him a big battle chainsaw, as it roared to life, the blades glowing pink with energy, as he looked at him, crazed.

"You killed all my buts. Fair enough I was gonna do it first and steal the prizes, but lookie lookie," he cackled. "The guy of the much-talked rumors!"

"At this point, I might as well be wearing a sign saying that," Max said not liking how fast the rumor spread, "And in my defense, you and your 'buds' were the ones ganging up on two hunters after they saved your ungrateful butts!"

The hunter attacked slashing at Max, but he flipped back, enough and ran up the stairs, taking out his hand cannon and firing at weak points. However, the chainsaw Hunter managed to block them off, as he ran up and tried to stab at Max's midsection. Max jumped up the stair level, as he climbed up, as the chainsaw carved and cut up the floor, but his arms split into four, as he began to climb up while having the arm with the saw hold back. He then taunted as he climbed, "You think that matters in this game?" He then got on the ledge to try and cleave Max's head as he dodged, as it cut through the concrete wall, as he shouted, "OUT HERE, THE WEAK ARE DEVOURED!" He then pulled the blade back, as he got back to the floor level with Max getting up to get his AAH rifle, as he said, "And everyone's fair game. Trust and friendship... are crap to wanting to survival."

'That maybe true is some cases,' Max thought to himself, 'But putting my trust in Ally is what helped me get this far.' Allison looked at Max with a smile from hearing that. He continued to prove that supporting him was the one of the best decisions she ever made.

The Chainsaw Hunter smirked, as he said, "Got a trick up your sleeve, eh?" His right knee opened, as something fired, "Me too!" It rolled on the ground as it was in the center of the room... revealing to be the brand of grenade that caught the girls off guard.

Max and Allison were caught off guard by the number of grenades in the room. One wrong shot and the whole building could end up collapsing on all of them.

they suddenly blew up the center of the room, as it all collapsed down to the ground, as Max grabbed the ledge, but the hunter pounced at him. He pulled Max away from him, as he got on top of the kick, and kicked him down hard, as he went crashing down into the ground, as Max got the wind knocked out of him, as the suit took most of the brunt of the forced crash. But Chainsaw dropped down, pinning the boy down, as Max tried to get up. But instead of killing him, Chainsaw asked, "So tell me. why'd you really save those girls?"

"Simple," Max said with a bit of venom in his voice, "I really, really hate bullies."

Chainsaw smirked, as if he was sensing something about the boy with the mask on, as he taunted, "Yeah, I bet. And you didn't kill the others to save two sexy girls." His grin became demonic, exposing sharp teeth, as he laid it out, not noticing a huge chunk of the ceiling beginning to get ready to crush them both, "You saved those girls as an excuse to kill me and the others. Oooh, there's a darkness in you, man." Max was a bit taken back on that.

"So you're saying no matter what the reason, saving lives is wrong," Max said as he stared at the man. But not with anger in his eyes, but pity. Pity that someone that cut off from the world can view saving lives as a negative thing.

Don't listen to him Max. He's just trying to anger you, Allison said to him, Besides, he's not worth listening to.

However, at that moment, the huge piece of roof fell atop of them, with Max holding up his GRP, as Chainsaw was about to attack. But he heard the loud but soft rumble of debris, as he also felt shadow around him. He looked up and saw the debris above them, floating in the air hovering. Chainsaw looked at him, and smirked, "And yet another dumb stunt. You should have let it crush us both." His arm split as he managed to grab two guns at his right, and aimed, "but now... I'm gonna... GAAAAAAAAAH!" Chainsaw was shaking and spasming, as Max had pulled out with his free hand, the Stun Baton.

"Also, you talk way too much," Max said having had enough of this guy's twisted philosophy. The Chainsaw Man continued to spasm in pain from the electrical current going through his body. Every part of his body both human and mechanical were going haywire.

Max managed to get off, and run out, just as the GRP's power drained. Chainsaw looked up and groaned, "Shit..." And then it all came crashing down on him, his fate unknown, but it was clear enough that he was dead.

Max caught his breath as he leaned against the wall and caught his breath. 'You're right, Allison. We got lucky there,' Max said to her as she floated nearby, 'I have to get stronger. Otherwise, I'll never be able to fulfill my promise to you.'

Allison nodded in agreement. Which is why we'll be training even more after you get some rest, she told him.

But Max then turned to the debris from far, and wondered about the two girls.

Meanwhile

Behind the wall, Kera was guarding her slowly but weakened recovering friend, as she wondered what was going on. But before anything else... She saw Aina's jacket and suit balled up and thrown down next to her. It rolled over to her, as it opened up, showing Med-Nanites and a note written in black. 'Don't Come After Me. You're Safe, Help her.'

Though also rolling out of the note was a bullet shell.

'A bullet, a piece of paper, and Med-Nanites,' Kera asked herself as she pondered over the contents, 'Is the bullet to weigh the paper down? Or is it a warning? And why would they leave Med-Nanites?' Kera looked up. "You're the one who saved us, right? Thank you," she called out, "I don't know how, but we'll repay your kindness someday!" She waited but no response came for her. She took the Med-Nanites and headed back to use them on Aina.

Far away, Max was running as fast as he could, as he stopped as he was far enough. He leaned on the remains of a wall, as he pulled his hood down and hsi mask, as he breathed from all the running. Allison though popped up, as she wanted to pat Max on the back for helping the two girls.

You did good today Max, Allison said to him, Just remember that you can't help everyone. There are limits that we can do.

However, Max fell to the ground, well slid on the wall as he fell to his knees, his head hung down, as he seemed dead.

Allison looked in shock as she checked his vitals. Much to her relief, he was just exhausted. I'll have to teach you a lesson on scaring me like that, Allison thought as she smiled at Max. To her, his sleeping face looked cute. I can't just leave you here, Allison thought to herself, I better call Emmy for help. Then, she smirked as she sat next to him, Just not right away, she thought as she placed her hand on his and enjoyed a few moments alone with him.

"You should just leave me, Allison," Max said as he wasn't really exhausted, but just in defeat.

Allison jumped up as she realized that Max was awake. She straightened herself up before looking at him. Did you think it would be easy, she asked him, That the victory would be handed to you on a silver platter just because you had my help? No Max. You have to earn your victory. Just like everyone else out there. Max didn't reply as he still felt defeated.

"No, I mean you need to find someone stronger than me," Max said as he looked to her seriously. "Not just physical, but morally." He then slumped to his butt, as he sighed, looking at her, "That guy was right. I didn't save those girls. I saved them as an excuse to kill those men. Deep down... I wanted an excuse to do it due to being tormented all my life by those maniacs."

Allison stared at him. The Chainsaw Man's words had gotten to him more than she thought they would.

Even worse, he was starting to cry about it, as he held his hands to his face, utterly defeated.

"Then was saving me an excuse?"

Allison turned as Max looked in her direction to see Emmy there. She was sporting a skin-tight black Augmented suit, with puffy orange sleeves, a U collar hood around her head, orange backpack with a shot gun and assault rifle. She had two thigh pouches on both sides, a black phani pouch unable to hide her tight butt, her breasts cupped together by an under orange armor piece smooshing her boobs together, while she had orange booster calve boots on with black ankle guards, orange thigh guards with black holsters, and two big orange gloves with black guards on them, while her hair was done in a ponytail. She had managed to get off work, and come to him... and heard what he said.

"Was saving me from Davis that day an excuse to fight him," Emmy asked again, "If you hadn't helped me, I might have been really hurt or worse that day."

Max still felt weakened while Allison let her continue, "but... But I just..."

"Feeling angry or hatred is normal," Emmy said to him, "As long as you don't let it consume you. Would you have saved those girls even if it meant not fighting or killing someone you hate?"

Max wasn't able to say anything, but Emmy did something as she knelt next to him and pulled him in for a hug.

"You saved lives today," Emmy said to him, "You have a good heart, Max. You know right from wrong. Don't forget that."

For a moment, hearing those words from someone he did save. It all came down on him, as he held Emmy close and wept in her chest.

"That's right," Emmy said to him, "Let it all out. You should cry while you're still able to."

Allison looked at this scene, and felt a bit saddened. Not that she had pushed Max into this or that the Chainsaw Hunter's words got to him. She wanted to comfort him just as Emmy did. And for her, it too was a long way to go before that could happen. In truth, for the small time they have been together... the A.I. had fallen in love with Max. Even if it was only a week, to her it was a lifetime in an A.I.'s mind.

I wish I could comfort him the way Emmy is, Allison thought to herself in private, If only I could touch him the way she is. If I was human...

Max though held a hand out, like he wanted Allison ot hold it for him.

Allison felt touched by the gesture as she reached out her hand for his. Even if Max couldn't feel it, he still felt better knowing Allison was there for him as well. "Thank you, Emmy," Max said to her in relief knowing that he still had people who saw the good in him.

Max then thought as the telepathy was still active, 'Allison. I'll keep trying to help. I may end up slipping, but one thing is for certain: I will never relish this act again.'

Allison smiled as she gently took his hand, and responded, I'll hold you to it... partner.

1 Week Later

Relic Exchange

In one week, Max, Emmy, and Allison had worked together and had earned a lot of cash for this. But today, was a special day, as the clerk smirked, "Dang. This is the tenth day you've been making deliveries to us, Mahx with an H."

"It's actually without an H," Max said calmly, earning a giggle from the two girls of the spelling error.

The clerk smirked, "Well, today's the day you can correct that." He then slipped a confused Max a black card and a piece of paper, "The map and card are for you. Just have to go through some registration process over to the building the map takes you to. But you'll need to show the black card to the staff there." The clerk then crossed his arms as he puffed out his chest, "But today's the day."

Max blinked, "Huh?"

Moments Later

Main Hunter Quarters

Following the path the map led, Max, Emmy, and Allison were a bit shocked to see what it was that they went to. Though Emmy seemed calmer than the other two, as Emmy saw what it was. It was a lavished glass and steel building built within the wall, while there were complex military or transportation depots there. Emmy figured it out as she explained, "The building's integrated to the wall, mostly with the defensives. It acts as a checkpoint, connecting and managing the economy between the inner and outer wall."

Max arched an eyebrow, "Okay, but what is it to a Hunter?"

"It's the Hunter's Office," Emmy smiled to the two, as she didn't see Allison, but her voice could be heard on their shared devices.

Max though blinked, as he asked, "Then.. where have I been going to?"

"I deduce it's a branch office, right Emmy," Allison's voice spoke in the comm device.

Emmy nodded, "Indeed." She then pointed around the main office they walked in.

There, they saw Hunters much like them, but they seemed... different. Some had some pretty decent and high-advanced cybernetics, super supped up Augmented Suits, and some even had robotic partners, humanoid or animal in appearance. "The hunters here are on a whole new level, aside from the ones you're used to dealing. These hunters have powerful augmented suits, even using nanomachines to enhance their own physical abilities. Some used cybernetic limbs or organs to modify themselves."

Max blinked, "They do that?"

Allison then theorized, "They must be exploring ruins that are extremely dangerous and return back alive so many times in the past. These hunters are extremely powerful to do that."

Emmy nodded, as she nudged Max, "Yep, Ally's got it."

Max then took a moment to think, as he pondered, "Hmmm.. maybe I should try and save up for some enhanced organs."

"Good luck," Emmy said, "Enhancements like that cost a lot of money."

They made their way to the main desk, where a beautiful humanoid android dressed like a stewardess was stationed at, as Max showed the black card, "I was told to show this..."

She looked at it and scanned it, and then smiled, "I have confirmed it, are you Mahx? With an H?"

Max shook his head and decided to correct it, "Yes, but my name doesn't have an H in it, much to my mistake. I apologize for that."

The droid smiled as she looked to him, "Well then, Max. First of all, Congratulations on your promotion for a 10th Rank Hunter." Max arched an eyebrow, and asked, "10th?" Emmy decided to explain as she said, "You were finally able to move up from being a self-proclaimed hunter intoa real hunter now."

Both Max and Allison blinked at this, as he asked, "I wasn't a real hunter back then?"

"Not really," Emmy said. "But you did warrant your worth from the relics you brought. And thus you were rated 10th."

The stewardess nodded, "Yes. A high-ranked Hunter can buy equipment that a low ranked hunter normally couldn't. You might even take a request with a high-level of confidentiality. It's basically a position with a lot of special benefits." She then looked to Max and asked, "And would you still liked to be registered as Max. Today's registration will change from temporary to real. The information entered today will be added as addendum information. Your name in the register will be use dot formally identify you as an individual. It might also be understood as the name to identify anything that you're related with such as your family, land, country, cases et cetera. With that in mind..." She then looked to him, and asked, "Are you sure you want to change it to just 'Max'?"

Max nodded, "Yes please." "Very well," the robot receptionist said as she made the edit to his name.

The clerk then registered his name in, as his black card suddenly etched his information, as well as his respelled name, Max. "This finishes the Registration. I pray for the best of luck with you, Max." She then turned to Emmy and smiled, "And thank you for escorting her, 22th Rank Emmy."

Max and Allison looked at Emmy in surprise. "Emmy, you're at rank 22," Max asked in surprise.

"I sure am," she said with a smile, "You surprised?"

"Well, I figured you were running the shop most of the time," Max answered her.

Emmy smiled, "Well, like I said, not many people come out to shop, so I have to keep it going when business is slow." though at the moment, the Stewardess bot walked up, and gave Max something. It was a more advanced version of the phone that Emmy had, well, actually they were similar. It just at the button on the lower right corner, and could fold up the bottom part like a phone, as a screen was shown.

"This is your Information Terminal. You can use it to collect, exchange, share, and even buy or sell information about ruins and monsters. The corporations can also send in requests through the terminal, and download maps. Use it well."

Max generously took it and nodded, "Thanks."

Later that Day

Max's Apartment

Max was sitting at his desk, with his top armor off, with a black turtleneck and blue jacket with black lines on the inside, a black hoodie, black trimming, and the sleeves were rolled up to the elbows, which the shoulders and elbows were both black. the upper back had a black V mark with a glowing blue inline inside of the pattern. At the moment, Emmy's armor was off, as she was now sleeveless and barefoot, while she lay on his bed, as both had their Terminals modified by Allison.

On the screen, an adorable chibi version of Allison was there, as she spoke, "I managed to completely rewrite the inside of your terminals so that it's easier for you both to receive my support, and for Emmy to see what I look like." And struck a Sailor Moon pose, "In Chibi form!"

"EEEEEEEE! You're so cute," Emmy gushed at the Chibi Allison, "I'd love to have you as a screensaver!"

Allison sweatdropped as she nervously chuckled, but Max said, "Well, it turns out this thing cost me a bit. I'm gonna have to go to another ruin tomorrow just to get expenses back up."

Allison then turned to him, as she said, "yeah, about that... tomorrow, you'll be going on your own without me."

Max blinked, "What? But why?"

"It's mostly as a means of training. Your shooting skills have improved, and your awareness to your surroundings is better," Allision encouraged as she said, "I'm just gonna beef up the training's schedule. This it to help you move around without my help. And Emmy's day off is tomorrow, so you can have her with you."

"Think of this day as a way for us to learn about each other's combat styles and learn how to work together," Emmy said with a grin on her face, "Don't worry. I got your back."

"And that's an important factor for this," Allison said, but then grumbled, looking away, "Though I still wanted to be with Max.

Later the Next Day

Outskirts of LA City Ruins

Max and Emmy were now comparing each other's styles of combat and learning from one another.

Though as they traversed through the ruins, Max paled as he said, "You know... I feel kinda exposed out here."

"It's because there's barely any cover out here," Emmy said, "So it's easy to be attacked by snipers."

Max nodded, as he turned to her, "Though in truth... I feel like I took Allison's support for granted. Never occurred to me this was what it would feel like not to have her watching us."

"That's probably why she wants you out here alone today," Emmy said, "She wants you to learn how to fight on your end in case something happens."

Max sighed, as he said, "Okay. But man, this is gonna be nerve-wracking today." Hours Later The Slums The hustle and bustle of the crowds were going to and about their daily lives, though two in particular were walking home smugly. Emmy was bouncing with joy, making sure her boobs didn't bounce out as she hummed cheerfully.

Max though was unseen behind her, as suddenly, Allison popped up on the monitor, "Well, you guys look like you made it baa... AAAAAH!" Emmy turned around to see Allison's face freak out... as she saw a zombified and exhausted Max trekking behind, with bags under his eyes.

"Max! You look dead on your feet," Allison exclaimed in concern, "Unless your a zombie now! OH WHY! YOU WERE SO YOUNG," Allison shouted dramatically while on her knees yelling at the Heavens.

Emmy heard Allison's reaction, as she replied, "He's alive, Allison. He's just... well.."

"My nerves and caution were all shot today, I was freaking out," Max droned out. But then he smiled weakly, "Luckily, we managed to find a butt load of relics from a few points, you and I never got a chance to get to. What with all the insanity following us."

"Well that's good," Allison said with a smile, "At least today was productive for the two of you."

Suddenly, Max stiffened as a board, as he was fully alerted about something. He then asked Emmy, "Emmy, you see anything weird?"

Emmy looked around, but didn't catch anything, as she shook her head, "Nothing in view."

"Allison," Max asked, "Can you scan the area? I feel like we're being stalked."

Allison quickly scanned the area, and from afar... a gang of Hunters were charging in, trying to get through the crowds.

"We have company heading this way and I don't think they're friendly," Allison said to them, "It seems you two were followed back here."

Max and Emmy looked to one another and nodded. Moments Later A gang of Hunters, notably looking like street thugs, were rushing through as a sleeveless hunter said, "they went this way!"

The gang of hunters made their way through the crowd towards where Max and Emmy went to. "They had a ton of artifacts," another hunter said with a vile grin, "Easy pickings as always!"

"Yeah," another Hunter said, "Why look for them in the field when the newbies can find them for use?"

Another one smiled as he licked his lips, "and that girl... Whoo, we're gonna get laid..."

BLAM

He was suddenly shot and sent far away as the gang stopped, and looked around. Max, who had hidden from sight, looked at the guys, as Allison looked at them and reported, "These guys don't look like the usual hunters."

"That's because they're from a slum city gang," Max explained.

"Yeesh. As if things weren't bad enough, now we've got gangs to deal with." Radioing from a corner, with two modified Magnum models with extra ammo and explosive rounds, Emmy held them up close ready for the gang members to come her way.

Once they took cover in her alley, she turned the corner and shot at them in the head, as she said, "I'm guessing the rumor spread to them about a guy showing up with ruins."

And a hot girl, Allision added.

Max shook his head as he ran to slide down a corner, as he said, "So for them, we look like wallets and a cocksleeve. Great." He then pulled out his hand cannon and cocked it, "We're gonna have to get rid of that image soon."

Allison figured on that and nodded, "Meaning we're gonna have to make their decision to go after you guys a costly one."

Emmy took some grenades from the downed gang members and said, "So one by one?"

"You know that game they used to play with pretend Hunters," Max asked.

"Who's the better Hunter," Emmy asked, smirking.

"Let's play," Max said.

The Slum Gang took cover from the fire. "They must have a veteran sniper somewhere," one of the gang members said, "Stay out of sight!"

Hiding behind a wall, Max was using one of the gifts that Allison had given with his new Eye abilities from her Support. He scanned the area in front of him, and using a kind of infra-red or shadow vision, eh spotted five of the gang Hunters nearby, one was highlighted a darker green, showing he had heavier gear on. He then switched the bullet to explosion, as he aimed and fired. The armored fellow got blown up while the others scattered, as Max picked them off with ease of shots. Max sighed, as he said, "You know, I figured as being a Hunter, we'd be killing Beasts and rogue A.I.s. Not other hunters or gang members."

"Some hunters can't keep up with others, so they resort to stealing," Emmy said over the radio, "It's either out of a need or just jealousy. What's really sad is there's no one to stop it from happening."

The two then began to take down one hunter after another, while the other hunters were freaking out. "One of them knows how to we move?! What the heck's going on?!"

"Even that Female Hunter that's with him is dangerous. I thought those two were just nobodies that lived in the slums and ran a supply shop," another freaked out.

But then the two hunters were shot down, but their take down was not unwitnessed. Near them was a sixteen-year-old Caucasian female who was freaking out. She had a slender figure with perfect skin, albeit a bit dirty in some areas, a cute face, lime green hair that went down to her lower back, and had two thick bangs in front, light green eyes, and also had a bountiful chest like Emmy. She wore a tattered pair of black pantyhose, thick boots, a tattered dark green skirt that ended at her knees, a black tight blouse that showed off her cleavage, and a grey jacket with a fur collar and cuffs.

She backed away in fear at this, even as a freaked out hunter ran passed her, "This is nuts, I'm outta here!"

The girl blinked, as she said, "Hey, wait. Don't...!"

But then the hunter was shot in the back of his head, as he fell to the ground. The girl was whimpering in more fear, as she bolted to another alley, But once she did, she was face to face with Max's hand cannon barrel, as the blue haired boy stared her down, if she was a threat. The girl looked at him in wide eye, as she was both scared and in disbelief that someone like this, was able to take down the gang she was with.

Allison was right behind Max at the moment, scanning the girl, as she came to a conclusion, I think she's safe, Max.

Max wouldn't have taken the chance, but after seeing this girl had no combat prowess whatsoever, he holstered his gun, as he sighed, looking at her, "lucky that I won't waste bullets."

And then bolted away with Allison following but stopped as she looked to the girl, even though she couldn't be seen by her, I'm terribly sorry about the scare.

And then flew after Max as the girl's fear was still there. She collapsed on her knees, as she still shook in fear. It wasn't just that this guy almost shot her, but it was because he and another Hunter were taking down a whole gang. And even more, she heard the gunshots and the freaked out voices of the hunters she was with all being defeated. This couldn't have happened. In secret... she needed the gang's protection... for the other kids like her. And now... all of it was crumbling down.

Moments Later

The gang was taken town, and both Emmy and Max were looking down an African American hunter with dreadlocks and an injured right arm. He was pleading to the two, "Please, let me go. I'll let you take my place as the leader of the gang!" Emmy arched an eyebrow, "So we found the ringleader?"

"I'm guessing not," Max replied.

Indeed, Allison theorized. But he might actually be the leader of this particular group. Meaning he's all that's left and is just buying time.

The dreadlocks guy then weakly smiled, "So what do ya say, eh?"

"I say.." Max said as he aimed his hand cannon at him, "It was a big mistake going after us like that without thinking."

The hunter then tried another trump card as he snickered evilly at them, "Alright then, if you kill me, my gang will hunt you down and kill you and rape your woman when I'm dead." He cackled, as he shouted, "That's right, you don't wanna die!"

Max didn't seem unfazed as he said, "Well frankly, if it comes to your gang, I won't worry." The hunter seemed a bit shocked by this boy's lack of fear as Max went on, "If they're anything like the guys that are after us... they won't be able to touch us." BLAM!

The hunter slumped to the ground with a hole in his head, as Max holstered his gun. And then sighed, "Please tell me this was the last one."
