It was 7 days later that Bovent approached Reeves. "Chief, what's the plan to get out of here?"
"I already told you, there isn't one!" Reeves snapped angrily and then tore into Bovent.
Harry got up to help his trainee. "Look," he said, bending down to his boss' height. "You are the senior auror here. Your job is to lead us to complete the mission. The mission is to capture the DEs here. But, no matter what, if you refuse to try to get us out of here, I will come up with a plan myself. Because some of us have families that we like and want to get back to."
"Then do it Potter," Reeves shot back.
"I will, thank you," Harry told him. "You're welcome to join whenever."
He went back to the group. "You could get fired for that," Norman said.
"Well, Williamson, I don't particularly care," Harry said. "Now, getting out of these things," he fidgeted his hands, "is going to be relatively easy, depending on how well you 5 can follow directions. It's a skill my sister and I took the time to learn as children, just in case. The difficult part will be getting out of the building." He looked at Bovent and sat down a good distance from Reeves. "So, what do we know about when they come down here?"
"Well, they come in twice a day with food once and to torture us the second," Bovent said after a moment.
Harry indicated Proudfoot. "There's always 3 at a time."
Williamson volunteered, "It's never the same 3 in a row."
Riya added, "They torture and then drop the food."
Finally, Hale said, "They go to Harry first."
"So, we have somewhat of a plan," Harry said. "They're never here at night. So, night is when we prepare. Let's observe for 2 days. Get the times in between their visits. But then, we get out of these, and when they come down, we'll have the two people they notice the least hiding in the corners to ambush them when they close the door. I'll help and if you can get them unconscious, we can grab their wands and fight our way out. The 4 of us that will be without wands will have to pair up. One of you can take the wand I have. Wandless magic should be sufficient for me once we're out of here. Disillusion everyone. Right before we do this, we'll make the decision. But for right now, do we want to at least capture them or are we just going to get out?"
"We won't have this chance again," Timothy said softly. "We're not abandoning this." Everyone agreed.
"Alright," Harry nodded. "Then when we get out, priority 1 is wands. But, this isn't the final decision. Final decision comes right after we've gotten out. If anyone yells out, we all get out and apparate away immediately. And no one will hold it against them if someone feels they can't do it. We certainly need everyone to finish the mission, so we're either all in or all out."
"Question," Riya said and Harry nodded. "Why are we so far away from Reeves?"
"I don't trust him," Harry confided. They nodded in agreement.
