"Hey, guys!" Robin greeted his fellow Teen Titans as he walked into the lounge.

"Dude, where've you been?" Beast Boy asked.

"We've been putting up the Christmas tree, man!" Cyborg exclaimed.

"What?!" Robin's eyes widened behind his mask. "No way! Without me? You guys must have had a really hard job doing that without me to help you."

"Yep…" Raven reply in her usual dry, sarcastic tone. "It was reeeaaallly hard…"

Robin walked over to where the Titans' Christmas tree stood in the centre of the room. He observed it in silence, taking in all the work his friends had done to make it look very festive. Colourful twinkling lights were wound around it while shiny decorations hung from the branches. It was a wonderful sight, filling the Boy Wonder's face with such wonder.

"Wow!" Robin gasped. "You did an amazing job, guys!"

"Didn't we just?!" Cyborg grinned as he pointed with his robotic hand over all that was placed on the tree. "We put on lights…"

"Baubles…" Raven added as she flicked one of the brightly-coloured balls.

"Even candy canes!" Beast Boy added as grabbed one of the seasonal treats he had mentioned, pulling it off the tree to munch on it. "Mmm! Monty flavour!"

Robin circled around the tree, taking in all it had been festooned with before turning back to his friends.

"Did you guys remember to put the star on the top?" he asked.

At their leader's question, Cyborg and Beast Boy's faces fell while Raven's remained as indifferent as ever.

"Oh…" Cyborg muttered. "Right… The star on the tree…"

"Yeah…" Beast Boy chuckled awkwardly as he rubbed the back of his green head. "About that, dude…"

"You guys okay?" Robin asked, taken aback by the sudden shift in the other superheroes' mood. "What's up?"

"The star on the Christmas tree!" Raven raised a hand and pointed. "That's what's up if you'll look…"

Pleased that his friends hadn't forgotten the most important decoration, Robin turned to peer towards the top of the tree - and his jaw dropped over what he saw up there.

"What the-Star?"

Sitting at the top of the tree, gazing down at her friends with a bright cheerful smile - was Starfire.

"Hello, Robin!" The Tamaranean girl beamed as she waved to the Boy Wonder. "I hope my placement on the tree of Christmas is to your liking, yes?"

"Star?!" Robin's jaw hung open in disbelief. "What are you doing up there?!"

"Well, it's like this, man…" Cyborg said uncomfortably. "When BB told her that a star was the last thing to go on the tree, Star actually thought he meant herself."

"Hey, dude, it's not my fault!" Beast Boy snapped. "Don't go blaming me, man!"

Robin slapped his gloved hand to his face. He shook his head before staring back up towards where Starfire was. As beautiful as the red-haired girl was, like an angel from the heavens, the top of a Christmas tree was no place for her.

"Is something the matter, Robin?" Starfire asked innocently.

"Star…" Robin sighed. "Just come on down from that tree please."

The leader of the Titans needn't had given such an order - for the Christmas tree suddenly came tumbling down. It dragged Starfire down with it, bringing a startled yell out of her as it tumbled towards the lounge floor. It struck the other four young heroes, knocking them off their feet as it landed onto its side, sending decorations and lights flying everywhere.

"Oh no!" Starfire lifted herself into the air to take in the sight of the fallen tree and her allies, a shameful look on her face. "I am sorry, friends! I have caused the tree to fall over and to undo all your hard work of decorating it!"

"Not to worry, Star!" Cyborg assured her with a smile.

"We'll just put it back up all over again!" Beast Boy added enthusiastically.

"Greeeaaat!" Raven droned, not having anywhere near as much festive spirit as her friends. "At least this time, you'll get to help us. Right, Robin?"

Robin said nothing. He just stared through his mask at the ceiling as he lay on the floor, covered in Christmas lights and ornaments as he pounded his fist.

The end.
