As it turned out, Master Fay found the young boy that would be her Master's new padawan to be very bright and wonderful. Very few ever shone so brightly in the Force like Anakin did, though, it might also be that both of them were enjoying a relaxing moment in the Room of a Thousand Fountains with his mother. The life around them seemed to only get brighter with both of them there, whispering to them in welcome to their home. Anakin was leaning into her as she smiled, running her fingers through his blonde locks of , she suspected that her Master didn't just call her back from her nomadic lifestyle just for Anakin. Something else was going on that needed to be found out, the Force was whispering to her about danger that was beyond the Sith.
"About time I found you three," Her master's voice said, making Fay look over to see Allison smile over at her, "Hello Fay, I see you've bonded with Anakin."
Fay nodded as she heard Anakin softly snore against her, smirking before Allison held something out to her. In her hand was a lightsaber, Fay's only Lightsaber. The handle looked like wood twisted into a spiral handle that had fit her hand comfortably before she gave it away to Allison before her nomadic travels. Fay felt the crystal inside call to her, the crystal being crystalized amber of the Wroshyr tree found on Kashyyyk. The nomadic Jedi gently pulled the lightsaber into her hand with the Force before activating it, feeling the Force flood through her again.
The brilliant light green blade hummed with the song of life, synching with the song of the plants around them.
"It's been calling out for you ever since you left, Fay," Allison said with a sad smile, "I don't think it would survive another several century parting."
Fay looked away from the blade, as it deactivated the weapon, "I didn't want it to be what people saw in me, a Jedi doesn't need a lightsaber to use the Force."
"No," Allison said before poking Fay's forehead, "but a Lightsaber is their defense against those that would cause hard. Fay, I trust you a great deal but I also am your master. This time, don't lose the lightsaber, this weapon is your life."
Fay flushed with the subtle chastisement, "I understand Master, I shall need some training though, would you help me with that?"
Allison smiled, "Anytime, my wayward Padawan."
Within the Senate Rotunda, Hunter stood behind the Senator and the Queen of Naboo. The Mandalorian watched as the other bureaucrats sulked, whined and complained throughout the proceedings. Of course, given that the Republic had seen the recordings of what Allison's ship had flown by and the footage of the hangar in the Theed Palace where the Jedi Master dealt with the Battle Droids easily, they still whined. The delegates from the Gran protectorate had tried to 'encourage' the other senators to ignore Naboo as it was the "Honorable Trade Federation" that were the ones being accused of wrongdoing.
"Pathetic worms," He hissed, gaining the attention of the Senator, "can't keep their muzzles shut."
Sheev Palpatine raised an eyebrow at him, "Indeed, but this is how the Senate has been playing for the last thousand years. You wouldn't believe the trouble it has caused, only last week, the Senate was busy looking at the further outer rim worlds that asked for help. Nothing's come of it however."
Hunter snorted, "they wouldn't move off world to see what actually is out there in the galaxy as its much too pampering here. Height of Galactic power and the standard of what should be. Kriffing spineless, why should the senators care that planets like Tatooine and Mandalore are suffering from Slavery and Civil War?"
Palpatine nodded judiciously, "I understand greatly, Mandalorian, but not even the Senate can do everything. A change in leadership might help things along but even that can only get one so far."
Hunter nodded sharply, "put it up to the people to handle their representatives, then have the ones that deserve the mantle actually be here to represent their planet, sector or what have you."
He then motioned to the Senator to face forward, "The Queen is about to rebuke them, I suggest we table this discussion for later."
Both went silent as Padme Amidala, the young monarch of Naboo, called for a vote of no confidence against the senators of the Gran Protectorate and the Trade Federation. That silenced everyone, even Senator Palpatine.
"I take it this hasn't been done before?"
Palpatine shook his head, "Not since I've been in office, its been done in the past during the Old Republic and only twice in the "High Republic'' era only two hundred years ago. Maybe this will be a change that the senate needs."
"Maybe," Hunter intoned, watching as more and more Senators that were also disgruntled and even harassed by the Trade Federation's high taxation and other malpractices joined the throng of others shouting for the vote against them and their allies, "Though, I have to say, its also a shame that Naboo can't get any help proper."
Across the Galaxy, in the palace of Theed, Nute Gunray was busy having a secret conference with a shadowed entity over a very illegal holocommunicator.
"I-I've done all you've asked me to do, My Lord," He grumbled to the shadow, "but when the Sith Lords and the Jedi find out about my involvement with you and your rising power, I'll be surely arrested, worse, be executed for high treason."
The voice that replied was oily and serpentine, wet and thick, "Don't you think I've planned for this moment, Gunray? The Banite Sith have only just played to the tune of my song for a thousand years and now have started to shift away from their mission. You are only a cog in a larger wheel of this plan that spans over millennia, Gunray. I've already sent a powerful warrior to deal with any Jedi that come to arrest you, if he fails, well, I've got other plans in the works."
Gunray audibly gulped, "And when…I mean, if I'm arrested?"
The voice snorted, "If you are, say nothing but that it was a deal gone sour. Plasma is a fickle resource after all."
Nute Gunray nodded, that was a true statement. Raw plasma like Naboo had was very much a rare commodity and to have it wasted on these peasants was not right! No, only the Federation could handle such a pricey resource for the weir galaxy.
"My agents have been infiltrating the Senate for thousands of years and soon, it will be no more. Chin up, Gunray, your time is coming to take revenge on those fools."
Obi-wan was in the training rooms when he saw both Master Fay walk in with Grandmaster Allison, both heading to a stall before pulling out their respective lightsabers. Master Fay was holding a single bladed lightsaber of a light green hue as Master Allison spun her lightstaff around herself before activating both ends. White blades bathed the ground in pure light as both Masters circled one another before Allison attacked.
Obi-wan watched as both his female friends, Bant Eerin and Siri Tachi, stopped their own sparring. The two near Immortal Jedi Masters danced and twirled, white and green flashing and spinning in a complex dance that was something to behold.
"Tighten your arms, Fay," Allison chidded, deflecting another round of green slashes and thrusts, "Your Djem So is getting a bit sloppy after your Makashi riposte, Fay."
Fay only nodded, tightening her arms closer to her body before Allison was on her in a heartbeat. White blades slashing and twirling around her as the green blade defended against them.
"Good," Allison said as she danced back, smiling, "Your Shii-cho and Soresu are excellent but you'll need to work on your Niman kata's more often to get the Force and saber balance you require."
Master Fay bowed her head, "I understand, Master."
Allison smiled, "You must have kept up on them somehow, but you are still out of practice. Another few rounds then we rest before we head off to deal with the problems at Naboo."
