Nagasumi could scarcely believe what was happening to him.

The young man was stood, dressed in a smart black tuxedo, at the front of a church alter. Several people were filling up the pews, all eyes on him. They had all gathered to witness what was about to become of him.

He was about to get married.

Married to the love of his life.

The church doors slowly opened.

All eyes instantly turned towards who was standing in the doorway, including Nagasumi's.

His face lit up as his heart fluttered inside his chest, overflowing with amazement at the sight over who had just arrived.

It was his beautiful bride.

There was Sun, dressed in a pure white wedding dress, her cheeks as red as the roses she was carrying. As she peered down the aisle she was about to walk down, the sweet smile on her face brightened when she saw her husband-to-be.

She was so incredibly happy they were about to be married at last.

In a few minutes, she would no longer be Sun Seto.

Instead, she would be Sun Michishio.

As the church organ began to fill the atmosphere with wedding music, cherry blossom petals floated down gently as Sun made her way slowly down the aisle towards Nagasumi. She gazed lovingly towards her groom as she strode past the witnesses watching her about to be wed.

Unable to help themselves, a few of the guests couldn't help but pass a few comments in their disbelief over what they were seeing.

"I can't believe that's my beautiful Sun!" Chimp murmured. "It should be me up there, about to get married to her, not Nagasumi!"

"Why did Sun pick a common human like Michishio?" Kai grumbled. "She could have gone for a merman with all the awesome looks and more money than she could ever dream of - like me!"

"Sun beat us again!" Lunar huffed through gritted teeth. "She got married before us - and took our manservant from us!"

"Miss Sun looks amazing!" Maki wiped tears of awe from her eyes - which proceeded to narrow as her high-pitched voice deepened its tone with hatred. "Can't say the same about the sea louse!"

"Nagasumi better treat Sun right while he's married to her!" Mawari watched with a serious frown on her face. "If he doesn't, maybe I should teach him a lesson about the rules of this society!"

"Will I ever get to wear a beautiful white wedding dress like Sun and be hitched to a handsome husband like Nagasumi?" wondered the green-haired, spectacled girl - who to this day was still only known to her schoolmates as Class Rep.

"So Nagasumi and Sun are finally getting married." Akeno mumbled, her arms folded. "How vexing."

"Who would have thought that's my son up there?" Nagasumi's mother asked herself. "Takes me back to my own wedding day, which I often wish I could go back to - so I could run away while I was still free."

"What was that, dear?" Nagasumi's father asked, taken aback by the flippant comment made by his wife who was always ignoring him and now only had eyes for Masa.

"That's my Sun!" Ren exclaimed, smiling towards her daughter like the proud mother she was. "Go get her, Nagasumi!"

Completely unaware of all these comments being exchanged by her wedding guests, Sun made her way to the end of the aisle, stopping alongside her groom. She glanced silently in his direction, her brown eyes shining with all her love for him.

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to witness the joining and becoming of husband and wife - between Nagasumi and Sun..."

As the vicar began to read through his speech, Nagasumi couldn't help but subtly gaze at Sun. He was astounded to believe it was her in such a beautiful wedding dress, about to be married to him.

Time had gone by so fast. It seemed like only yesterday when she had entered his life - by saving him when he had been drowning in the sea. The two of them getting engaged had only been due to him seeing her true form when she had come to his rescue. It had been the only way to prevent one of them dying due to Nagasumi seeing Sun as the mermaid she was. A lot of insane things had happened during that time from disapproving in-laws to jealous love rivals, but the pair had managed to overcome it all.

Their wedding may had only been a result of circumstance, but in the time they had spend building up to it, they had fallen in love for real.

Nagasumi smiled warmly towards the wonderful young lady who was seconds away from becoming his wife.

At last, they were about to be married.

"Do you, Nagasumi, take Sun ... to be your lawful wedded wife?"

Nagasumi nodded, not needing a second to consider his answer to the vicar's question.

"I do."

"Do you, Sun, take Nagasumi ... to be your lawful wedded husband?"

The brunette's face was glowing in all her happiness as she answered her own question from the vicar without a moment's hesitation.

"I do, ya see!"

Sun turned with a smile towards Nagasumi, placing a hand onto her heart as she whispered the remainder of her promise to take him as her husband so that only he could hear.

"If I didn't take ya as my husband after all we've been through together, Nagasumi, then that would be a disgrace to all Seto mermaids!" Sun declared dramatically. "Because honour among thieves - is honour under the seas!"

Nagasumi beamed at the beautiful young mermaid. He was so proud to be getting married to her.

Glancing from one to the other, the vicar smiled approvingly. There was no doubt in his mind the pair stood before him were truly in love with each other. He could not imagine wedding either of them to anyone else.

There was only one thing left to say.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."

At these words, Nagasumi and Sun turned to face each other, beaming.

They couldn't believe it. They were now finally married.

All those obstacles and difficulties they had been through together were behind them.

They were now destined to spend the rest of their lives with the one they loved.

Neither of them could be any happier.

Heeding the vicar's order, Nagasumi moved his face towards Sun's. The mermaid half-closed her eyes, bracing herself for what her husband was about to do to her. The young man braced his lips, preparing himself to kiss his new, much-loved wife.

"STOOOOOOOOOOP!"

Everyone in the church jumped with fright - especially the bride and groom who had just been prevented from kissing. Everyone in the church turned their shocked faces towards where the sudden outraged voice had just blasted from.

Standing at the entrance of the church stood an enormous muscular figure who had only just managed to fit through the doorway. His large hands were clenched into fists as he glared with gritted teeth at the startled young man who had just been wed to the bride.

"Oh... Sun's dad!" Nagasumi smiled uneasily, unnerved by how Gōzaburō was looking at him with as much killing intent as usual. "You finally made it! We didn't think you were gonna be-"

"WHADDA YA THINK YA DOING TO MY SUN, MAGGOT?!"

"Sir, this is a house of prayer," the vicar said, trying in vain to calm down the angry, violent leader of the Yakuza merfolk. "Do please mind your behaviour..."

"SHUT YA MOUTH, YA PUNK!"

"I'm not sure whether you saw the moment Sun and I got wed..." Nagasumi's heart was racing with all the intense fear he had of his hot-headed father-in-law. "But the two of us were about to kiss..."

"KISS MY SUN?!" Gōzaburō looked as though he might explode. "I'LL TEACH YA TO KISS MY SUN, YA MAGGOTY PIECE OF SHIT!"

Gōzaburō lunged for his terrified son-in-law - but his brutal attack on him was prevented as he was grabbed by the arms. The Yazuza leader was held by Ren and Masa, both of them trying to protect Nagasumi.

"Boss, please! Calm down!" Masa begged desperately. "We're in the middle of their wedding!"

"This has gone far enough!" Ren scolded her husband angrily. "Leave Nagasumi alone, ya big bully!"

"LET GO OF ME!" Gōzaburō screamed as he shook himself free from the grasps of his wife and right-hand man. His ugly scarred face filled with wrath as he charged straight towards Nagasumi. "I'LL KILL YA, YA PISS-HEAD MAGGOT! I'LL KILL YA!"

With that, Gōzaburō proceeded to furiously chase Nagasumi around the church. Holes were blasted through the walls and the stained glass windows were shattered to pieces as the dangerously bad-tempered leader of the Seto Group attacked his son-in-law - much to the amusement of many of the wedding guests.

All Sun could do was sigh as she watched her overprotective father go after her new husband, trying to beat up her husband for trying to kiss her.

Her long-awaited wedding to Nagasumi, witnessed by all she valued having in her young life, had gone about as well as expected.
