Wilma was fidgety wandering around Dr Huer's office, picking up small objects, putting them back down. She wasn't good at waiting.

Finally, Huer entered, smiling.

"They are finishing up the process and he will be here soon."

Wilma let out a sigh, "Thank you, I am not sure why I am afraid there would be a complication."

"No, there will be no complications with Buck's release. But I understand that there is one with Bishop's interrogation. He refuses to explain how he was able to alter the deceased man's chip"

"I am not surprised but once you start rounding up his confederates there will be at least one with an altered chip. This was not the first time he has done this. And I am sure the technical dept. will be able to reverse engineer how he did it. "

"Yes, well you can make that a priority once you resume command of the directorate" Huer told her.

Wilma was still for a while, then said "No I will not be going back to the directorate, for a number of reasons."

"But your duty to the terrain people is -"

"No" Wilma interrupted him. She paused then said "Yes, I have a duty to terrain society, but it does not need to be in the Security Directorate. For as long as I can remember I have been inculcated with the idea of duty and service. And I like to think, for my adult life, I have fulfilled that duty. But I have learned that I am not the only person who can adequately fill the security position and that I can serve our society in other capacities." Wilma said. "And I think I want a personal life." She added with a smile.

"Well, I cannot say I am surprised but I would still request that you at least consider"

Huer didn't get any further because the door opened just then, and Wilma rushed into Buck's arms.
