Rocket asked Jupiter as the female super-powered female raccoon handing him a basket which held a sleeping lil infant cub in it having no idea of her mom going to explore the galaxt like she'd always wanted.
"I can't take her with me, Rocket as it would be too dangerous but Infound an nice Terran that is perfect for our Casey who will giveher love." she told him putting an note in the basket so Casey's adoptive mom would understand seeing Rocket understand feeling choked up nodding, seeing Jupiter kissing her cub'sfurry head placing a locket around her lil neck before leaving in her ship into space, so he took a deep-breath lookijg at his sleeping sister tempted to just let him and Gamora raise her, knowing that wasn't what Jupiter wanted.
"Let's get you to your new home, starshine, but I'll always look put for you, nomatterwhat what." he whispered looking at the address on the envelope seeing her adoptive home was in Manhattan, going there in his ship using the cloaking-device so Terrans would not worry or call the police flying to Manhattan, checking on Casey every so often but arrived at the sidewalk her new home was on, stepping out of his ship with the basket in his furty arms, it was precious cargo seeing the doorstep putting it gently there, knocking on the door hearing footsteps hiding seeing thedoor opening as a red-haired young woman was surprised reading the letter taking the basket inside.
"Good luck, sweetie, you're gonna grow up well." Rocket said through tears wiping them away activating his ship and the cloaking-device goijg back to his apartmen parking his ship in the garage deactivating the cloaking-decice so he could find it when he needed it heading upstairs to his and Gamora's apartment bumping into Nebula.
"Everything okay, Rocket you seem distracted." she said.
"Sorry about that, I'm okay but need to get goijg, before Gamora comes lookijg for me." he told her reaching the door using his claws to open it impressing Nebula goijg back to her apartment closing her door makig Gamora sigh hearing him closing and locking their apartment door seeing Gamora there in pyjamas making Him smirk as she looked cute kissing him, as he needed it.
"You took long, are you alright." she asked him seeing him nod hearing him sigh, making himself a cup of coffee to soothe himself after taking Casey to Kendra telling her what Jupiter had told him to do involving Casey making her understand why he'd been quiet returning besides bumping ijto Nebula relieving Gamora
It was now seven years later and a seven year old Casey opened her bedroom-window as she'd been up all night as Raccoon Girl patrolling New York kicking tail changing into her favourite pyjamas which matched her armour hoping her adoptive mom, Kendra wasn't up yet as she might worry, until hearing an notification on her lock screen made her grin, Rocket had posted an new entry on his blog as he'd been quiet for a while which had made her a tad antsy to know what he was up to.
"I wonder what it's gonna be about this time, maybe about space because it's awesome plus he may be a blogger and podcaster, he's still an Avenger and Guardian of the Galaxy along with being my inspiration oh yeah his Rocketsgiving livestream is coming up, Kendra said I could watch it if I keep getting good grades." Casey mumbled softly as not to wake her adoptive mom up.
Casey Tessula Raccoon had been adopted by Kendra who'd found her on her doorstep as an infant in a basket wearing a locket around her furry lil neck and after reading the note had adopted her as her furbaby giving her love accepting her when her many powers had started emerging so the female-cub had decided to become a superheroine, calling herself Raccoon Girl plus she'd started attending Avengers Campus after somebody claiming to be her brother had enrolled her but she was a huge fan of Rocket ever since she'dfirst seen him on the news with either the Avengers or Guardians of the Galaxy on the news then learning about him, following Rocket's podcast, the Rocket Hour along with his social-media accounts plus was saving up money, to buyba stuffie of him finding loose change in the couch.
"Mommy, is it okay if I keep this loose change, that I fouhd in the couch." she asked Kendra, showing her the quarters in her paw to Kendra.
"Sure honey, gonna use it for candy, eh." she replied seeing Casey shake her furry head.
"Nope, gonna put it somewhere special, thanks." she replied to her going upstairs to her room going over to her desk which had her Milano money bank feeling it was halfwat full, getting dressed in her signature attire of a black hooded top with a teal paw print with khaki-green shorts which made her tail feel comfortable grabbing her Rocketpack flying downstairs leaving for school relieving Kendra hoping she'd be okay.
Casey was taking deep-breaths as she arrived at Avengers Campus feeliing anxious seeing the other kids but tempted to talk to Peach and Raya who were wearing armour only the bell ringing made her jump covering her furry ears until the bell stopped heading to the Special Powers room imagining about what Rocket was doijg right now, putting her Rocketpack in her cubby seeing Branchie who was Groot's daughter and in their class so Rocket being Groot's best friend, Branchie might know.
"H-Hi." she said softly astounding Branchie as the female-cub was pretty shy and didn't speak a lot to her fellow classmates wondering what she was lookijg at on her phone after putting it on silent.
"Rocket posted an new entry on his blog so just checking it out before class." she said nervously making her understand
"I am Groot." she said hugging her surprising Bruce at this seeing that this was a good sign and saw them sitting on the rug with the other kids impressing them seeing Branchie and Casey sitting together while listening to the teacher.
The final bell ringing signalling the end of the day and Casey was wearing her noise-cancelling headphones listening to saved episodes of Rocket's podcast, the Rocket Hour on her phone then was feeling a barky lil hand tapping her shoulder bringing her out of her thoughts seeing it was Branchie wanting to play on the playground so was doing that having a blast plus doing flying loop de loops landing on her furry feet not knowing that Kendra was there.
"I knew I coulddo it, I just couldn't practice at home." Casey told her seeing Kendra there gulping, but Branchie saw her uncle, Rocket was hiding in a tree because her parents Carmilla and Groot were doing something so Groot had asked his best friend to watch the female-sapling only he was waiting for Casey andKendra to leave before revealing himself which confused the female-sapling.
"I'm so proud of you honey, but we should get going." Kendra told her, only the female-cub noticed that Branchie was by herself.
"Are you going to be okay, is your dad gonna pick you up." she asked before leaving, tempted to ask Kendra if Branchie could come with them for a bit.
"I am Groot." Branchie told her seeing her nodding leaving with her adoptive mom talking and giggling fading out of vidw then saw a certain male armouredraccoon show up seeing the female-sapling hug his armoured leg making Rocket chuckle at his niece happy she'd made an new friend.
"Your folks are doijg things, so your dad asked me to watch you until they're done." he told her as they were goijg to his apartment which was a penthouse one seeing Gamora there with groceries, happy seeing her niece asking if Casey was okay seeing him nodding making Branchie surprised knowing Casey would be pumped up in the morning if she told her she'd been hanging out with him.
"You can tell her that part just not what I just said about Casey being my sister, okay." he said seeing her nodding while he was fixingher a snack of chocolate-milk and cookies which was one of her favourite snacks nodding to hi making Gamora frown at this as it had been seven years since he'd left Casey with Kendra, she deserved to know plus Dean Carol from Avengers Campus had called askijg him about being vice accepting, as they needed the money plus he could keep an eye on Casey which Gamora found sweet plus the campus had staff lodgings making Gamora happy but Branchie sad.
"I am Groot, I am Groot." she asked.
"You'll still see me on campus but I'll be more closer instead of you coming here." Rocket reassured her
"I am Groot." Branchie asked meaning asking if she could tell Casey this.
"Dean Carol's going to tell everybody in the morning." he replied to her after phoning Carol.
"Atta boy as he could use this job." Gamora mumbled to herself as Branchie was helping her and Rocket pack for leaving the apartment they'd been living in knowing this was a good thing for her boy as he hadn't been on a mission for a while so he'd be a perfect vice-dean needing to tell Nebula plus she could visit them, if she got lonely seeing Rocket packing things into his pocket dimension storage vial as he along with Branchie were getting into his ship seeing Gamora join them as it took off using the cloaking-device so they wouldn't freak anybody out on the way there.
