The fire was burning bright and quiet in the fireplace, being the only light source of the room. It was already deep in the night, but still not everybody was having a peaceful one. In this room two little beds were standing, one empty and cold, the other one near the fireplace with a little child in it. A woman was sitting at the bed of this little girl, her motherly hand on the hand of her child. The girl was sleeping fine, her head turned to the fireplace, illuminating her small head and her soft smile. Only a thin white streak in the hair of the little sweet child seemed out of place and gave the mother a sorrowful look. Is there a mother in the world that does not feel what this woman felt? The bound between her and her child making her extra sensitive, giving her maybe more sorrow then anybody else.

The door to the room was suddenly opened very slowly and another woman came in, she already in her night grown. The mother did not look on her, still holding the little hand of her child.

"Your majesty… his majesty asked for you. Should I stay here with her?"

"Yes, thank you Gerda. She is sleeping now sound and fine." As she said that her eyes became full of tears, but she still gave the good woman a thankful smile and slowly rose from her seat, making her way out the room.

The hallway was all dark and quiet, with the only light coming through the triangle windows and while she walked, the thoughts in her head were swirling around. At the time she arrived at the door, she was all quiet herself. Inside lied another small girl in the big bed, a man sitting by her side, trying his best to comfort her. She was not asleep, but holding tight on her father, her light blond hair covering her little eyes.

"How are you, my little one?"

"I…I don´t know. How is she?" the little trembling voice asked.

"Oh, she is fine. Sleeping sound and sure"

"See? Didn´t I tell you she´ll be fine? You know how strong she is" the father said.

With quiet steps the mother sat down on the bed opening her arms to her daughter, who a bit hesitantly revived her.

"I will let you two alone. Good night my little one" with this he stood up, gave his daughter a kiss on the forehead and left. Again it became quiet, with only two hearts beating in the half dark. Suddenly after they spend some moments in each other's arms, the little girl buried her face on her mother's breast and began sobbing hard.

"Hush, my dear. Everything is going to be fine."

"No, it´s not! I hurt her! I´m scared mamma…"

"It was an accident! You did not hurt her on purpose, you were just too incautious, and that's all. Your father and I should have told you to be more careful."

"But you told me and I did not listen! Pappa told me to make only small things, but I… I did not…"

"It´s only because the power got stronger. You did not know it and we did not know it. And from now on I promise that we will help you the best we can to control it so you two can soon play together again. Wouldn´t that be nice?" She looked at her daughter with a big smile, hoping that cheering her up would help her. With one hand she gently pulled away some hair from the girls face, looking directly into two small wide sad eyes. Oh, how her heart hurt seeing her child like that!

"I love you my sunshine, you are a gift to us and I wish… we wish to be always by your side if you need it. Yes?"

"Yes, thank you mamma. I love you and I promise I´ll be a good girl."

"You always were. Don´t be so hard on you. Will you stay tonight here?"

"Aha. And may I… maybe… you know I´m so big now and I started studying, so would it be alright if I got my own room?"

For a moment she hesitated to answer her daughter. It did no occur to her mind the girls should stop to share their room. Or should they? After all…

"Well, sure… we can talk about it in the morning. Perhaps it is good if you sometimes have peace for yourself. But try now to sleep, I´ll stay with you."
