Waking up, Elsa felt fresh and recovered. What a night of healthy sleep could do! Stretching out her arms she let out a small, pleased groan, like a cat does after a long nap. Through the high triangular window the first weak morning light creped into her bedroom, lightning her wallpapers into a soft pink and blue. She loved her bedroom, it was bright, the soft lavender violet wallpapers were comforting and her furniture out of dark wood made a wonderful contrast. Anna´s idea of rearranging her room had not been a bad one after all. Her little sister had demanded that if she wanted to leave "the past in the past" she would also need to leave her old room. But in the end they had agreed on simply changing a few things, including putting the bed on the opposite wall to allow a "change" of perspective. The older sister may have become more open, but she would not leave the room her parents had helped her to furnish, her "safe haven" in many past dark hours.

The little clock on her nightstand showed quarter over six, so it was time to rise. Standing up the cold floor greeted her feet, but it did not bother her anyway. The bad was made in no time, clean and neat like always- she insisted to do it herself- and after she got dressed and her hair put in a charming bun, she was ready for breakfast. Today would be a great day, no meetings (the major had gotten ill and excused himself already yesterday) and only paperwork to do. Her whole day was already perfectly planed out. She would work until noon, then eat a small lunch prepared by Frue Matilda (the head cook), then work again till five o´clock, eat dinner with her sister, spend the evening with her and then before sleep read again some of the papers that contained queen duty. Anna often complained and asked how she could stand such a boring schedule and still be so punctual. Elsa´s answer was always the same "It´s fun to be on time".

Entering the small family dinning room she was greeted by Kai and a much younger footman that must be part of the newly expanded servants. Anna was of course not there, it was far too early for her. As Elsa´s appetite was rather small on mornings, she ate only a small bite and enjoyed more the aromatic warm tea. Something that did surprise her was the fact that Olaf was missing. The little snowman usually kept her company at breakfast, even if he did not eat himself. He would sit by her side and tell her what he had dreamed (Do snowman even dream?) and that was it. Odd that he was not here today.

Without putting too much thought on her missing companion, she decided it was time to go to her study. Seven thirty, perfect.

While she did have a right to set up her own new study, she had decided without hesitation to take her fathers old room and use it as her office. Somehow, sitting in his old study, gave her comfort and it was almost like she could feel his presence during the many hours she spend there. So, now while walking through the still quiet halls, she felt glad at the though of spending some time in there, and as she came to the double door, decorated with rosmaling murals, her hand on the handle… and nothing happened. What was that? The door did not open. She tried again, but it was locked. What kind of joke was this? Wait…ANNA! It must be her, who else would lock the Queens office. The halls were still empty, far and wide no one to ask. Well, than it was time to find either Kai or Gerda and ask for a second key.

Just as she wanted to turn around, her eyes cached something white under the rug on the floor. A paper lied folded under it, only one tiny part peaking out, nearly impossible to notice. Taking it up and unfolding it, a note could be read, written in a well-known handwriting. If you want to have the key, you first have to find me. Great, now her morning would be spend treasure hunting. At last she knew where to find the key. "Oh, Anna. You are so easy to look trough." Turning on her heels, Elsa started to make her way towards the room of her little sister.

The familiar flower pattern on the double door of Anna´s room was still in shadows, as the sun came only late into this part of the hall. For a brief moment Elsa considered knocking, but then again, maybe her little sister did not deserve a soft wakening. Pulling the handle down she was about to let a small blizzard wake up her sister, but once she entered she was put before another surprise. Anna was not there. The bed was unmade (of course) but Anna was not in her bed or anywhere else in the room. So, what now? Walking to the bed, Elsa wanted at least see if the bed was still warm, which could give her at last some information. On the pillow she noticed another piece of paper. The smell of fresh hay, keeps the doctor away. Very funny. This was getting more and more ridicules.

At the royal stables she was not only greeted by the smell of fresh hay, but also by the smell of horses. Luckily she was not a queasy person like Anna claimed. Or at last, not that much. The stable boy said he did not know where princess Anna was, but he had a note for the Queen he had received the day before. And again the well-known handwriting was to be seen. Visit one thousand and one world, without getting hurt. Well, this one was a bit trickier. How can one travel without having contact with the world, and even if you could, there were not even that many countries. Unless… you go to the library. Every book, a different world. So, now it was again time to go inside, up to the third floor.

The library was of course empty, and this "treasure hunt" started to pull slowly on her nerves. First, she could not see any new note, until she spotted a piece of paper beside the model ship on the window. Meet me in Eden.

Sitting on the picnic blanket in the garden was Anna, who joyfully smiled as her sister approached.

"Hi, Elsa. How was your morning today?"

"Very… productive, I can assure you."

As she sat down beside Anna, Olaf came running happy towards them, a small key in his "hand". Elsa gave her sister an angry glance, but Anna´s response was only to offer a plate with sandwiches.

"Don´t be mad. I just thought… you know, it is the first warm day this spring, and the months since your coronation were great and so, we two talking again and laughing again. I´m so proud of you how you take your Queen job so serious, but I also thought you needed a bit of … variety in your day."

How could anyone be angry at someone with that innocent look on its face?

"I´m not mad, just a warning would have been nice."

"But if you would have known before, where would be the adventure?"

"You have a point with that," Elsa said taking a huge bite of her sandwich. Treasure hunt did make hungry.
