"Earth Release: Mud Wall," he said as a wall of Earth found itself lunging onto the side of the cliff.
"YOSH MY RIVALLL! I SHALL RUN ACROSS KONOHA ON MY HANDS 100 TIMES! IF I CANNOT, THEN I WILL NOT BE WORTHY OF THE TITLE CHUNIN!" screamed an over-enthusiastic Maito Gai. He ran into the sun, which miraculously came out of the sky as if it was a silly cartoon.
Luckily, Kakashi brought himself earplugs just for the sublime green beast's antics.
So he almost missed the moment when a girl with raven-black hair who looked to be about four proceeded to free-fall off the jagged cliff. Kakashi could see her moving in slow motion.

A split-second decision had him falling off the platform as he quickly tied the ninja wire around the hilt of a kunai. He could feel the air blowing against his face.
When he reached her, he grabbed her and rammed the kunai into the wall. Damn it, isn't enough! He bit down on the kunai with his teeth and at the same time pulled another one out.
Minato-sensei would kill me for doing this, but desperate times call for desperate measures. As he proceeded to jam it into the surface of the cliff. The screeching sound of metal could be heard, echoing throughout the cliffside. With bated breath, they finally came to a halt at the base of the cliff.
That was close, he thought, filled with a sense of relief. He then looked at the unconscious girl.
She was wearing a turtleneck t-shirt with a clan symbol on the back. Wait, this is the Uchiha clan symbol? Thought a very confused Kakashi.
He thought back to his dead last teammate, Obito Uchiha. He was always loud and would rant all day about becoming Hokage.
So she's in the same clan as Baka-Obito, he internally snorted. He took a closer look at her as she laid loosely on the bottom of the cliff. Her eyes slowly fluttered open, reflecting the afternoon sun against her onyx eyes. I'm alive?
