A.N. So, this came to life the other night when I was thinking about what if in the beginning of Frozen Elsa fell, hit her head and Anna was not touched by her magic.

It was late in the night with most of the castle asleep, and still laughter could be heard from the majestic ballroom. Giggling children's voices, melodic ringing through the dark that had settled in the halls in front the room. Inside, the two young princesses were playing and enjoying them self in the magical glittering snow that the one older had created. Their small feet- one in tiny boots the other in elegant slippers- were gliding over the layer of ice, dancing in circles.
The highlight of their game was decided to be their own created version of catch, the jumping from one snow mound to the other. The younger one jumped carefree from one peek to the other, while it was on the older to catch her sister by creating new and new mounds. The laughter became merrier and merrier, while the pace became faster and faster.
Suddenly, everything seemed to slip control when the younger got too fast and the older not longer able to hold up. The small slippers were desperately searching for hold on the slippery ground, but failed and let the young girl fall to the ground. In one micro second the younger sister -still in the air- saw panicky how her older sister hit the ground and stayed there lying. Landing in a smaller pile of snow the younger one pushed her self in the same moment to her feet, running to her sister.
"Elsa!"
Her little feet were running as fast as possible, and in an instant she found herself by her sisters side.
"Mama! Papa!" her little voice cried while she noticed ice forming around them, destroying their winter wonderland. As carefully as she could she took her big sisters head and placed it into her small lap.
"No, no… You´re okay, Elsa. I got you.", she whispered again and again, while stroking gently her sisters blond hair with her tiny fingers.
Outside the door, footsteps could be heard and one moment later the king and queen –still dressed- came running towards their daughters.
"Anna, what happened?", asked their father while their mother put a wimping Elsa in her arms.
"I don´t know. It was an accident. We were playing and I got too fast and she could not catch me and she slipped and… Oh, papa! Will she be fine again?" Anna now asked, tears in her eyes.
As if she had heard the desperation in her little sisters voice, Elsa gave a soft sight and nestled her self more comfortable in her mothers arm. In that instant it seemed the ice and snow began to slowly withdraw and warmth to return again to the ballroom, and Elsa's cheeks.
"I think she´ll be fine, but she needs her bed.", said their mother in a soft voice, while rising with Elsa still in her arms.
"You need help?", their father asked, but she only smiled and gave a silent glance to Anna and he nodded in understanding. Reaching to his still crying little strawberry haired daughter, he raised her in his arms, and hugged her protectively.
The whole next day Elsa stayed in her bed –only for the sake of making sure she´ll be fine. After a night of rest, she already did feel fine again, with only a small scratch on her face marking the place where she fell. She got warm soup and chocolate pudding for dessert, and Anna placed their two dolls side by side beside Elsa, so they would make her company. In the evening that night Anna sat on her sisters bed and read her all the picture books she had- thought, her reading consisted mostly out of improvisations as she had only started to learn the letters. Never less, her reading was the whole time accompanied by the older ones giggling and soft smile.
When their nanny put them to bed and their parents gave good night kisses, Elsa stayed wide awake and thinking.
"Anna. You´re asleep?"
"No, not yet."
"I just wanted to say thank you and… sorry for not catching you."
"Its okay, Elsa. I´m only happy you are fine."
Turning to the other side Elsa fell asleep thinking how she could never find a better sister than Anna, and Anna in her bed fell asleep dreaming of the many wonderful adventures she would have with Elsa.
