Chapter 2, Here we go!
The Bomb loogie made a Very Hard Impact on Thunder's chest, I heard a Crunch and a Chilling splattering Sound.
Thunder lets out a Pained yell as he Bites the Gembreakers wing midair, He Holds on with Ferocity and Jerks his head, I hear a Twisting sound followed by a Snap as the Wing of the Gembreaker...Breaks, Causing the Gembreaker to fall out of the Sky
"T-Thunder?"I ask him, "Are you ok?"
He gives me that Thunder Smile that had been so Iconic for him.
He flies back, I can't see anything below, But I begin to notice Thunder's eyes are starting to close and our Altitude is Dropping fast.
"Thunder?" I ask, "Tell me whats wrong" I tell him.
He gives me a Warble, and then we hit the ground, Not hard, But I can tell Thunder had little control in the last part of the Dive.
"Thunder!" I yell out, I had been thrown onto the ground by the impact, It was not a very hard impact for me but for Thunder it must have been far worse.
I run over to his side, He is laying on his stomach now, Something is wrong since I can see the Ground is stained Red next to him with red blood slowly blooming across it.
"T-Thunder, Let me see." I tell him, He is hardly still awake, But I need to find the Root of his...Injury.
He looks at me, I can tell that he is hardly awake, But he is awake enough to shift. He lets out another pained yowl before I even see the problem.
Once he shifts, my Stomach not only sinks, It does a Flip and makes me want to vomit.
Thunders Chest was stained with blood, Part of the Scales had been burned away and Other Parts of it had been blown off, The wound was not very wide, But it was deep enough for Blood to be coming out.
"Oh..." I say, Thunder tries to look at me with his sky blue eyes, But he can hardly keep himself awake at this point, Let alone lift his head and turn it towards me.
"It's not that bad." I lied, It was pretty bad, I did not know too much about Dragon Biology but I assumed there had to be some organs in his Chest, I Don't think any were Affected by the attack but the Damage was great, Bloodloss was a Problem. It could have been way worse, Sure, But I prefer no wound over a Bad one.
"It's just a Lot of Blood." I soothe him, "Its just that." I Say, That was a Very Dumb line on my part, A Better way to word it would be 'its just bleeding, nothings broken'. But in Truth, Something could very well be broken.
I quickly think of what D'Angelo would do in this Situation, I remember D'Angelo would say to Inspect the wound and discover the Problem, I have done that. But I decide to take a Closer look at the Wound, The Worst part is located next to his arm, That part of his Friends body is covered in blood, Then there is the Part of the wound that's not as Bad, It Resembles one of those scrapes you get when you fall of a Scooter going a High speed and you hit your knee. Some blood but mostly just damage to the outer skin, or in Thunders case, Scales.
The outer part is the Burn from the Loogie, I knew Dragons were fireproof but the Loogie must have been hot enough to roast the scales, Since they were smoking hot, Literally.
"Alright Thunder... i am going to go look for some water for you, In the Meantime stay strong." I tell him, Rubbing his Ear plate.
I am Panicking, I am trying to hide the Fact that I am doing so since...Well, I want him to feel calm and Comfortable, Not Insecure and worse than he already must feel.
I quickly scan the Horizon and the ground, The Rain has let up, But the Fog is still there, with the Dark Realm being mostly dark and stormy as I Figure, There has got to be some Source of Freshwater.
Bingo, It takes only a Few Seconds to notice a Puddle Nearby.
I rush over to it, From my backpack I grab my Water Bottle, I realize that the Clawmarks are still there, I should get them covered since I do not my mom to wonder where the Marks came from, But I want to keep the Marks, As a Reminder of Thunder...
I quickly Scoop up Water from the Puddle and fill it up to the top, As Much as I Can. I screw the Cap back on.
I rush back to Thunders Side, He is still awake somehow, His Eyes just slightly open.
"Thunder, Drink up." I say, Popping the bottle cap open, I am worried for a Second he does not have the Strength to swallow as I Pour the water into his mouth, But after a Few Seconds he manages to Swallow the Mater.
"Good Boy..." I say, Patting his head, I get my phone out and to my luck, There is Cell Service.
I quickly Dial Juns number.
After what seemed like a Eternity, But in Reality is closer to 5 Seconds, Jun answers.
"Tom?Where are you? Your late!" She said.
"Jun, It's...a Long story but you need to get D'Angelo to the Hidden world fast, Thunder is really hurt!" I tell her.
"How bad?" She asked, He thought he could hear her Voice tremble a Bit, Thunder was a Strong Dragon, None of them Except for Tom had seem him actually Injured before.
"Its bad, he can hardly stay awake and he is Bleeding a Lot, There are a Bunch of Burns on him too." I said, I realized Thunder had fallen asleep and his Breathing was Shallow.
"I..." I started to say into the phone, Tears were starting to fill my eyes watching him Bleed and Fade.
"Tom...?" Jun asked
"I-I don't know if he's gonna make it." I whisper. I am crying a Bit now, Holding back the Barrage of Tears now trying to escape my eyes.
"Listen Tom, Thunder is going to be OK, I am getting D'Angelo, If myths and any Story have told me anything, Its that the Will to live can always be enough to survive." Jun said, "I gotta go now to get him, You keep him company and we will be down there as soon as Possible." Jun told him, She hung up.
I sigh, I am crying now, I can't hide that, But I realize that Thunder's eyes are open again, His pupils are now looking back towards me.
"Thunder...you can hear me buddy, Right?" Tom asked Him, Thunder twitched One of his ear Plates.
"I'll take that as a Yes." I said, I sigh as Tears continue to fill my Vision.
"Thunder...I am sorry, I agreed to not do this with the Others, I broke the Rules." Tom said, With sadness in his voice.
"I should have Followed that rule, If I had followed it we would never have been here." I told him, his Ear Twitched again.
"So Buddy...I-I Don't know how you would forgive me, I Don't expect you too, I Won't blame you either." I tell him.
Thunder lets out a Warble, Its full of pain but I think its...Reassuring.
"I am sorry Buddy, Please, Just hold on..." I tell him, I wrap my arms around his neck, Trying to hide my face in his Warm Scales where no one else can see him, he did not know what to do...He just begged in his mind, Begged for the Others, he Begged for Thunder...
I am new to writing scenes where a Fury Dragon is in pain and his BFF has to figure out what to do until he figures out what he can't do, Its Sad and Terrible for our Characters to go through, But in the end they emerge stronger, and their Bond grows stronger too.
