Chapter 1: Yellow and Purple
Previously…
Moulds of what looked to be makings of something humanoid had piqued her interest. She came across a storage area and stopped. Taking a deep breath, she noted whatever she was feeling, it was felt the strongest in this room.Nearing the storage chamber, she opened it. A gush of mist-like vapours exhaled upon opening the chamber door. Her doe-like amethyst eyes widened with pure awe, and grinned upon what she saw, "Dude… far out!"
Fenix stared at what was in front of her. Her mouth slightly ajar, eyes full of curiosity seeing something beyond anything she's ever encountered before. Her purple eyes took in every detail of the android's detached head. His eyes were closed, his dark hair slicked back, his lips neutral with a sensual lower lip and his pale white skin glistened gold. His overall expression was peaceful and non-threatening. Something within her, a pull, like a moth to a flame, wanted to touch his face. She retracted her hand once she got too close. I can't touch him. That's rude, he's not even aware. I'm not gonna touch an unconscious person. That's also kinda creepy, eww... I wouldn't want someone touching me when I'm out cold, gross. She noticed bare buttocks, but quickly averted her eyes with a blush, "Dude, that's an ass... Wait, does that mean he's got man parts? Oh man…. What if he does?" A look of horror and panic crossed her face then shook her head, "Then he does, whatever. No biggy." Besides, he's in pieces. He's an android... doesn't make him any less of a person. Could I put him back together? I know I could do it. Just like putting together my old Chevy truck from back in the day… well… maybe just a tiny bit more complicated, I suppose. It's worth a shot, what do I got to lose? I wonder what he's like? If I AM to put him back together, then I'd HAVE to touch him, right? Man, I'm such a hypocrite… for someone who doesn't like people I'm sure eager to have someone around... But he's not human, still a person… but he's different. Taking the android's head under her arm, she walked back to the work station and put her bag down and the android's head on the counter. Rummaging though her bag, she found the tools she was looking for. Before she began working, she scanned the area for a chair. "There it is!" she blurted, unable to hide her excitement and began working on her project at hand. Her methods were always convoluted and many people considered her ways to be disorganized, but she still got the job done better than doing things by the book. I may be chaotic disaster at times, I know I'm very unorganized to most people but I have my ways. Hell, I even question MYSELF on how I can get shit done so well the way I do, but I still deliver. That's what matters, right? Like putting this android back together for the first time, do I know what I'm doing? Not really, but it's not that much different than putting a computer back together. I get it… in my own way, doesn't matter if no one really get is as long as I get it. But I sure hell don't understand human relations. Hell, I have a hard-enough time coping with my own emotions let alone understand other people's reaction. An hour later, with the android's head still in her small dainty hands, she began rewiring his circuits and activate his consciousness. Fenix started to feel fatigue overcome her. She set the android head to the side, "Sorry, dude… I gotta sleep for a bit." and crossed her arms on the counter. She laid her head for a moment of rest and closed her eyes. Before she knew it, she was sound asleep.
Who said that? Who speaks like THAT? Who says 'Sorry dude'? The android opened his yellow eyes. His eyes focused on observing the woman-child who he assumed had reactivated him. He listened to the faint inhale and exhale and her slow heartbeat. He scanned her to see her body temperature was low then concluded she was deep in sleep. He searched her long dark locks that gently blanketed her soft face. Her face not yet filled out, long lashes, a small cute nose, and a small mouth with full lips. Lore scowled. She's still just a child. On the cusp of becoming a woman. Teenager. Human. For one so young, how was she able to reactivate me? I'm at a mercy of a bloody child!? Me, this Lore? Preposterous. He thought whilst he scanned over the rest of the girl to see she was in good health. Her narrow shoulders hunched over in the most back-aching fashion, Lore continued to scowl and scrutinize for the next fifteen minutes. He continued to ponder whether he should close his eyes again and pretend to be unconscious and secretly analyse her as she worked when she woke up, or to wake her up now and pester her to finish assembling the rest of his body. But his thoughts were interrupted when he noticed her eyes flutter open. Her purple eyes met his own yellow ones, both sets of eyes held shock as if they were caught doing something naughty. Fenix stretched rolling her wrists and covered her yawn. His eyes scanned her white shirt. What's Def Leppard? Why is spelled like that?
"Are you sentient?" Fenix asked with now wide-awake eyes. Lore contemplated on whether he should play dumb, but a small part of him wanted to converse with this peculiar woman-child. It was something he didn't want to admit but he chose the latter.
"Yes."
Trying to keep things neutral, she decided on her choice of words, "My name's Fenix Flarestone. I found you disassembled and I let my curiosity get the best of me so… here you are. Awake. It's not everyday I come across an android, after all." she finished with a faint smile. First impressions and all that crap, I gotta feel it out. Her thoughts on niceties were going to be thrown out the window with the android's next words.
"I'm mildly surprised you even have the slightest clue on how to even begin reactivating me." he finished with a mocking smile. Fenix shook her head with a chuckle, taken off-guard from his rude behaviour. For real, man? Really? Well, two can play at that game. Bring it, dickhead! Still smiling, she retorted sarcastically, "All I had to do was read the instruction manual attached to your bio-plasty ass. It was really easy, like putting an IKEA dresser together. Anyone with half a brain could do it while they're shit-faced." Fenix giggled. Lore quirked an eyebrow. What the hell is an IKEA? Did she just compare my reassembling to putting together a dresser? Offended would be an understatement in how Lore was feeling in the moment as he glared at Fenix. Realizing she was able to ruffle his feathers, she smirked, "Too bad I didn't read the fine print until after I reactivated your head, it says..." She pretended to read an imaginary pamphlet, "...'The android may be prone to being a dickhead' but that's on me for not reading the fine print." she finished with a smirk and nonchalantly leaned back in her chair. "So, you got a name, dude?" and quirked an eyebrow. His eyes widened at her returned rudeness. Impudent brat! But there was something undeniably fun about this scenario for him. He condescendingly replied, "I am Lore. Do you need guidance on how to assemble the rest of my body?" Fenix sarcastically answered with a grin, "Nah, I'll just look at the manual, thanks." Lore rolled his eyes with a mutter, "For fuck's sake..." then let her continue, "Jokes aside, in all honesty? I don't know, we'll see." She shrugged, "Reactivating your head wasn't as hard as I thought it was gonna be. Only took me about an hour or so." She spun in her chair childishly, "Don't you worry your pretty detached head of yours, I'll get you up and running in another two or five hours at most… probably. I was just tired, needed that cat nap. Let's just say it's been a long few months." then stopped spinning and stood. "Where're you going?" demanded Lore. "Getting the rest of your body parts, duh." Fenix answered as she left. Lore was alone in the room and sighed, his eye twitched in mild annoyance. Isn't this just peachy. I'm stuck here with a sarcastic, cocky teenager. But she DID reactivate me. Let's see if she's able to put my body back together without putting my legs on my shoulders or something ridiculous. Actually, that would be mildly entertaining, it'll give me more opportunity to berate her. If she successfully reassembles my body, then I'm a free man. It's really a win-win situation for me either way. I just need some sort of entertainment, and as much of a pain-in-the-ass she is, she's entertaining. No one ever dared talk to me like she does. Impudent brat...
Fenix came back easily carrying the rest of his body parts and unceremoniously dumped them on the table. Lore cringed upon seeing how she handled his body parts, but he also realized she was a lot stronger than he expected. She's short, 5'3, about 115 lbs, with lean build. A female of her stature would have some difficulty carrying 100 kilograms (minus the weight of my head) of dead weight. Hmm… interesting. He was mildly curious about her though he would never admit to it, so he asked her with a monotone voice, "Why are you here? There's nothing here. You'd surely die here." Fenix acknowledge, nodding as she continued to work, "I didn't willing come to this shit-hole of a planet... I was exiled from Earth." Her eye became hard as she reminisced the events that led her to where she was now. Admiral Pressman… I want to kill him. Lore's eyes held curiosity that even he couldn't hide. It's not often someone gets exiled from Sol III. What things would she even be capable of to get her into this situation…? She felt his eyes on her and felt mildly uncomfortable yet refused to show it. Lore smiled like a mischievous fox and coyly hummed, "Oh, dear oh dear... what could a mere human girl could have done to get her into such a plight?" That's when Fenix looked over to him and rolled her eyes and retorted in a sing-song fashion mimicking him, "You're so exhausting, Lore. I don't know how long I'll be here for." Reality hit her again realizing she had no way to leave the desolate planet, "We'll have all the time in the world and then some to get to know each other, Peaches." and finished with a wink and a sly smile. Instead of becoming irritated by her arrogance, he was amused and donned a faint smile. She's got a smart mouth this little one. This is mildly interesting, I won't be as bored if she keeps this up. Lore let her vague answer or lack of answer slide this time, he would let her answer be suffice for now.
They were silent for the majority of the time while she worked, he'd given her some peace and quiet for both their sake. He was investigating and scrutinizing her every move, yet he couldn't find anything big or bad enough to criticize her about how she worked. I see… her methods are rather... unorthodox. Perplexing, even disorganized, but rather efficient and quite ingenious. He watched her roll to the other side of the desk whilst still sitting on her chair to retrieve another tool from her bag. Her style of work is the complete opposite of how my father was, but I can understand now why she was able to reactivate my head. Then again, I think I'm giving her just a tad too much credit, yet. She was finished with his upper body and smiled proudly. Lore raised his eyebrows for a moment, seeing her reaction. Well, this isn't so bad. She didn't put legs on my shoulders! It would've been amusing if she had. If I mentioned something like that, she probably WOULD attach my legs to my shoulders just to spite me. Silly woman-child. That's when Lore noticed her heartbeat suddenly quicken and her youthful feminine face turned red. My oh my, what's this? What's wrong with her all of the sudden? His eyes flickered to to what she made her flustered. Ah, I see now. My lower body. Right. Still so innocent... How cute. Lore suppressed tried to suppress a grin as his cheeks moved awkwardly. I want to taunt her and a wonderful opportunity just presented itself for me. Excellent. There's something so amusing to see her flustered. I wonder why that is? Doesn't matter. How often will I get a chance like this? In a deceivingly kind voice, he cleared his throat and inquired, "Something is bothering you. What's the matter?" Fenix's amethyst eyes widened in panic, her voice cracked unable to mask her uncomfortable predicament as she explained, "I'm almost finished with you. I-I just need to do your lower half. I'm gonna cover... that area up so I don't see your man-made man bits." He chuckled, "Am I the first male you've seen fully naked?" She remained silent, but her tight-lipped smile and red face was all he needed as an answer. And then burst into laughter unable to hold in her realization of her words in any longer, "I can't believe I said man-made man bits!" Rolling his eyes, Lore sarcastically commented with a sigh, "Ugh… You're so mature about this, it astounds me greatly, truly." But he, too chuckled at her childish humour. "Lore, I'm only seventeen! I still find stupid things amusing. And I didn't see your parts… well… just a flash of the Lore shlong for like a split second." Her cheeks were still flushed as she spoke. "You didn't answer my previous question, am I the first fully naked male you've seen or what?" he asked cheekily with an innocent smile yet his eyes sparkled mischievously which she didn't catch. She put her hands up to her now tomato-red face and exhaled, "For fuck sakes… Lore… Do you want me to finish putting you together or not?" Lore snickered and answered, "Yes. I'd like that. That would please me, after you answer my question." Exasperated, she looked at him dead in his yellow eyes, "Yeah." He smirked, "See? That wasn't so hard now was it?" Fenix shook her head in defeat, "Dude… Let me just let me work in peace, please?" she pleaded. Lore was about to proceed with another jab at her humiliation but halted. He had a faint smile on his face as he watched her turn her head to the side as she tossed a towel on his very male part of his body with blushing cheeks, then resumed assembling the remaining parts of his body.
There was some sense of peace in this moment. Lore didn't feel as vulnerable around her any more, she was painstakingly working away to put him back together. He examined her as she moved about when she needed more tools. She rummaged through her bag, then to the other side of the room and grabbed another contraption. What personal gain does she get out of putting me back together? Fulfil her curiosity? It must be. Humans… they're all selfish. He ignored her small dainty hands touching his body. She was only touching him only as a necessity, she was respecting his personal space as much as she could in their unique situation. It wasn't long when she completed her task, "Body's all done now! I'm gonna attached your head now." she stated and gently touched grasped the side of his head. She could feel she was beginning to rush from the excitement of finishing her project as she accidentality fumbled his head, "SHIT! I'm sorry, Lore!" and caught his head before it hit the floor. Lore sighed, "It's still a mystery how you managed to put me back together when you're so clumsy and chaotic." Fenix's eyes wide from the sudden adrenaline of almost dropping his head, "I said I was sorry!" she whined. Lore added, "For a moment, I was rather mildly impressed that you put me together until that moment." and chuckled. Fenix rolled her eyes as she attached his head to his body and Lore was whole again. "Look, I obviously didn't mean to, okay? But see? You're whole again!" Lore smiled happily as he hopped off the table, his towel sliding off causing Fenix to yip and turn around abruptly, "Can you cover yourself up for a bit? I just need to find some clothes for you. I can't have you running around naked." "Why not? No one's around, except you and you've already seen me naked." he stated as he picked up the towel and wrapped it around his lower half, "Besides, have you ever thought that I might prefer to be naked? You can turn around now that I'm covered up like you prefer..." He casually chimed. Fenix pinched the bridge of her nose and faced him, her cheeks blushing as he continued, "Would you forcefully dress me yourself, then?" he grinned. Fenix moan in exhaustion, "You're impossible, Lore. I'm bringing you clothes." He chuckled as she left to retrieve some clothes for him. He watched her leave, then darted to the bag she was digging in earlier. Looking into her bag, he noted a lot of odd contraptions with curiosity.
She came back a few moments later holding a black sweater, black fitted jeans with a belt, and a pair of motor boots then handed them to Lore. "Here, I found some things for you to wear. Hope you like black." He silently took them from her making eye contact, purple clashing with yellow. She didn't expect a 'thank you' from how his personality seemed so far and turned around to give him privacy as he dressed himself. I wonder what he's gonna be doing now that I got him up and running. Would he leave? Would he stay and hang out with me? I can feel his eyes on me right now and it's making me feel kinda uncomfortable. His gaze is so intense at times. I wonder what he's thinking about? "I'm fully dressed now, kid."She turned around and nodded in satisfaction, "Black looks good on ya. It's a nice contrast against your skin. Is it comfy?" He raised an eyebrow, "It'll suffice, I don't feel pain so discomfort would be out of the question." Then stared at her, trying to hide her nervousness as she began, "Cool beans. I'm going outside for a bit. It's a little stuffy in here." and left the facility. She hopped onto one of the higher elevated rocks, looking at the scattered grass that lay in the horizon, she noted it was about noon from how the sun was beaming down at her. Lore emerged from the facility and made his way to her. Standing beside her, he unabashedly stared at her for a few moments before looking in the direction of what captured her attention. Grass. I thought everything was decimated when the Crystal Entity ravaged the planet. There may be hope for survival for this young human after all, if she's has what it takes. She is rather resourceful. Lore glanced at her once more. It's just us here on this lonely planet. No one in their right mind would come here, ever. Whomever they are, they exiled her to Omicron Theta to die. Humans... At Lore's last thought, he felt something within him that desperately craved for companionship and that is something he will never admit to at all cost, "Hey kid, what are you thinking?" his voice neutral. Fenix sighed, "Just remembering how I got here in the first place, but I'm kinda happy I here." His eyebrows knit together, "Why is that?"
"I got to reassemble you and… I kinda enjoy having you around." Fenix answered as she kept her sight on the horizon, he eyes showing loneliness. Lore was speechless for a moment then tutted, "Don't get your hopes up, kid." She's lonely… Hmm… Who wouldn't be, all alone on this dead planet? Especially if she was exiled here… Left her here. Just as I was. He sighed as he pushed his realization away, they shared something they both understood, abandonment. Lore's original plan to leave the planet was put on hold. Something within him wanted to stay, the reason being her, but he pushed it down and concluded he wanted to see what the Crystalline Entity left behind.
