Chapter 7: The fall of Mishima
Back at the base, everyone had gathered to watch the footage Janyu had managed to film recurring to the truth the Devas had expressed toward Takashi Mishima and his ties to the deaths of the Digimon Tamers.
Amongst the group was the candidate running against Mishima, Lee Kazama, a bold man with brown bushy hair and dressed in a brown business suit.
To what was revealed, Lee was clearly shocked at the truth he had learnt, as the Knights just remained silent.
"And that is what they said before WarGrowlmon, Rapidmon and Taomon finished them off in such a anger." Calumon informed those who are present.
"To think Mishima would be involved with the Syndicate terrorizing the Real World. And he seem to be a shoe in to win too" Lee said, his fist clenched and reflecting his further anger.
"That is why we need to get the confession from him, to stop him from winning the election" Janyu said in reply, this earning the continued acceptance and respect from The Knights.
"And I will do what I can to help. We owe you Digimon Tamers and Knights for protecting our beloved city from those Syndicate fiends." Lee remarked.
"Really? So you don't have anything against us or anything?" Terriermon questioned curiously this causing Lee to look upon Terriermon and to shake his head.
"If it weren't for you and the might of your partners, we would've fallen victim to both the Devas and to the D-Reaper. I am sad about your human partners who were killed, but I am confident they brought up such valiant champions." Lee said as he continued to express his respect.
Although glad to have such a political power on their side, Alice spoke her mind. "Now all we have to do is find some sneaky way to make Mishima spill his confession."
"Sneaky huh? Then I might have an idea." Renamon spoke up. "Does he have a secretary?"
-The next night-
Within one of the huge glass building overlooking Shinjuku, Takashi Mishima was gazing down at the city below.
Holding a seriousness within his expression, Takashi knew the election was close and that he needed every advantage he could obtain in order to maintain his power and influence.
The doors then opened, to reveal a blonde haired woman clad in a black business suit.
Acting as his personal secretary, she entered the room and stood before his desk.
"Ah, Miss Liza. I trust all things are going according to the plan?" Takashi said, his gaze never leaving the city streets below.
"All is going well." Miss Liza said in reply.
She then looked over her clipboard.
"However, would you mind filling me in on some major details?" she then spoke up.
Takashi was confused by the question. "What major details? You already know of our plan."
"Well... I just need a reminder. Why did you want to win this election anyway?" Miss Liza questioned, expressing a fair interest in her voice, which Takashi sighs.
"Seems I need to remind you. By using false words to sway the nation to my side, I will crush Kazama and will be the new president of this country. Even if I had to ally myself with a bunch of terrorists to do it!." Takashi said bitterly.
"A bunch of terrorists? Who exactly are we talking about?" Miss Liza questioned, continuing to show an unusual interest.
"The Syndicate of Indramon." Takashi said with some disdain in his voice.
"Indramon…" Mizz Liza said as she clutched her clipboard tightly.
"I may have agreed to join Indramon's cause for revenge, but I despise these wretched Digimon scumbugs. They think they can do whatever they want."
"Once I'd gotten into power, I will force the Monster Makers to delete the Digital World once and for all!" Takashi declared.
He sat before his desk with a menacing expression.
Keeping her clipboard close to her chest and remaining professional, Mizz Liza then asked. "What did these Digimon creatures ever do to you? Not all Digimon are bad you know.".
"Hmph. They terrorized this city many years ago. And then there's this rumor that some bastard company, Hypnos, recruited a bunch of kids, who called themselves the Digimon Tamers to protect this land."
"And what's worse, they were good at it. They're made us look like incompetent fools." Takashi said, expressing a bitter anger and resentment.
"When the D-Reaper struck our world, that was the final straw. I have to become president and crush these Digimon freaks."
"But... to do so, I needed to install a sense of fear within the public toward these Digimon so... I made a deal with the Syndicate leader, Indramon. I also sent one of their best assassins to eliminate Hypnos once and for all." Takashi told her.
Mizz Liza then spoke in a bitter tone. "And what about the Digimon Tamers?"
"What about them?" Takashi answered dismissively.
"The Digimon Tamers were at Hypnos at the time when Raigamon attacked. They sacrificed themselves to destroy that assassin as far as I was told." Miss Liza responded.
"Those young teenagers who supposedly saved this planet. Truth to be told, they were just interferences in my way from true progress." Takashi said as he sat in his chair.
"So you do want to dispose of their partners? Why?" Miss Liza asked.
"Because they would try to stop me if they found out. So I agreed to Indramon's claims that if they terrorise the Real World for me, they could eliminate the Digimon Tamers and Hypnos for me. I am glad they did so." Takashi said with a dark tone.
"Although those Digimon loving freaks are dead, it turns out their Digimon somehow returned and reformed themselves as the Digimon Knights. They've proven to be a nuisance, thwarting the Syndicate's plans of invasion every damn time!" Takashi said angrily.
"These Digimon Knights were doing what their partners should be doing along time ago, protecting the innocent, or so I was told." Miss Liza said.
Takahi reacted badly to this.
"Don't be ridiculous. Digimon are nothing more than worthless destructive creations of man-made data. Once I rule this land, I'll wipe out every Digimon there is. I'll dispose of their entire world and the Syndicate." Takashi said proudly.
Suddenly, he froze.
There, on top on Mizz Liza's clipboard, was a small video camera.
Shock and dread filled Takashi as he rushed to the window.
Everything he said had been broadcast live across the whole city! From simple sets to the big advertising screens, everyone had heard his confession!
"WHAT?!" Takashi yelled as he turned his fury toward Miss Liza. "You were filming me?! What's gotten into you, you backstabbing bitch?"
"The real Miss Liza has to 'take a nap' so I used my powers to trick you into a confession. You're done for, Mishima." The imposter answered with a growing smirk.
He was confused by her words when suddenly, the figure before him began to shimmer and change.
In her place was anthropomorphic vixen.
"I used my Fox Deception Switch to take her place." Renamon said with a devious grin.
"You! You're that vixen Digimon brat!" Takashi bellowed, which Renamon just ignored.
"And we now have all the evidence we need against you!" Renamon said victoriously.
Before he could react, the doors of his office burst open.
Guilmon, Alice, Lee, the Digimon Knights and the police came pouring in.
The police came on order of their commander, Lieutenant McCoy
"Your game is over, Takashi Mishima! You're under arrest! For the murders of the Digimon Tamers, multiple Hypnos employees, and for associating with a known terrorist organization!" Alice declared.
"How...? How'd you all get past my security and guards?!" Takashi question, angered to lost everything.
"It's really quite simple." Alice said with a calm confidence within her voice.
The Knights putting most of the guards to sleep using chloroform, keeping their strength back to cause no permanent harm to Takashi's forces.
"We put the guards to sleep by using the shadows to blend in and give us an advantage."
Guilmon, who wrapped his strong arms around Mizz Liza, placing her in a restrained position long enough for Impmon to then put her to sleep with chloroform.
"We did the same to your secretary while Renamon used her Fox Switch Deception to take the appearance of your assistant. All we had to do was record your confession to all of Japan." Alice informed.
"Grr! And why do you side with these Digital Freaks?! If they hadn't been around..."
"Then our world would be destroyed by the D-Reaper!" Alice said.
Scowling toward his political rival, Lee questioned with a further disgust. "How could do this? The Digimon Tamers were kind and innocent heroes, and you allowed that assassin to take their lives!?"
"And since we now saw your true character, you can't escape your fate." Fillymon remarked.
"No! I refuse to believe this. I will never accept that freaks are considered heroes!" Takashi said, reaching within his drawer and retrieved a gun.
Before he could fire, Impmon had disarmed Takashi with his own pistol.
"We're not allowed to kill humans, but nothing stops my ethics from inflicting pain on scum like you. That shot was for Jeri." Impmon said crossly.
MarineAngemon flew toward and slapped him hard against Takashi's face with his tail.
"That slap was for his Tamer, Kenta." Guardromon said, speaking on MarineAngemon's behalf.
"And this is for Kazu!" He then added as he flip his finger at Takashi.
The human fell back with the wind knocked out of him.
Seeing Takashi being beaten relentlessly by the Digimon Knights, the authorities were about to step
But BlackGatomon rose her paw to stop them.
"Let them do it! They got every right to. They need it for what happened to beloved human partners." BlackGatomon said.
Seeing Alice agree with BlackGatomon's approval, the police allowed the Digimon to express their resentment.
"For Suzie!" Lopmon yelled, punching Takashi hard.
"And this is for Henry!" Terriermon added, twirling and propelling himself around, he struck Takashi in the face with his ears.
After being beaten up alot, Takato then saw a certain yellow furred vixen step up.
"This is for Rika!" Renamon yelled as she spun around in mid air and whacked her tail hard into Takashi's face.
Guilmon then goes up and grabbed Takashi's hair.
"And this... is for Takato!"
Guilmon smashed his fist into Takashi's face, the force of which not only sending Takashi crashing into his desk and near breaking it, it shattered his jaw.
Alice and the policeman proceeded to Takashi's arrest, leading his broken form from out of his office.
With Takashi taken away, the Digimon Knights felt a somewhat better.
One of the evils involved… had been brought to justice.
BlackGatomon looked outside of the window and to saw a crowd gathering beneath the towering structure.
"I think we should watch this scene from the rooftops." The Dark Digimon said.
Sharing in BlackGatomon's example and following her, they leapt upon the rooftops below the towering structure.
Looking below, The Knights watched Takashi being lead through a protesting mob.
Amongst the reporters, film crews and those furious to know the dark truth of Takashi Mishima, the most notable amongst the group were the parents of the late Digimon Tamers.
"You bastard! You took Henry and Suzie's lives away from us!" Mayumi shouted angrily.
"You're an evil man! Rika risked her life for us, and you dare mock her!?" Rumiko shouted..
"I hope you rot in jail for what you've done to Takato!" Takeshi shouted as Yoshi held him close.
Alice "accidentally" slammed Takashi's head into the bonnet.
"At least Mishima is taken care of. Once Indramon is out of the way, the worlds can live in peace." Dawnmon remarked.
"I hope so." Guilmon replied.
Or... so they thought.
A fireball suddenly shot above the crowd and landed directly into Takashi's chest with clear precision.
Panic tore through the populace and they scattered.
The Digimon Knights all looked at Guilmon in confusion and shock.
"Guilmon, you never fired that Pyro Sphere, right?" Impmon asked.
Guilmon merely shook his head.
"That's right. The angle of that attack doesn't line with Guilmon's position. It came from other side of the building." Dawnmon said.
"Wait, there's more! Look!" Terriermon called out.
Dozens of diamond-leaf shaped shards shoot down from the nearby building,
The shards then punctured Takashi Mishima's body, finishing him off.
"A Diamond Storm? But I'd never fired it" Renamon gasped.
Alice bent down and noticed a strange red lightning energy that seemed to spark along the flames and around the shared-like protrusions.
"That was not Guilmon or Renamon of the Knights who have done this." Alice said explained to the crowd.
Alice looked to the building where the attacks come from, only to see three hooded beings upon it.
Their work done, the robed figures leap away.
"Guilmon, I saw some people where the attacks came from. They might have answers... Go after them while we clear the area!" Alice told him through her communicator.
"We're on it!" he said in reply as he, the Knights and the Resistance gave chase after the mysterious assassins.
'Are there others forces other than the Syndicate involved? Just who are we dealing with?' Guilmon thought.
