Spencer was completely exhausted, the whole team was. They've been hunting the same unsub for almost two weeks now and he was getting more and more brutal with his murders. With each day all of them grew more and more frustrated, Reid even went so far as to not sleeping most nights to get even the smallest of steps closer to the unsub but nothing seemed to help.

Even more frustrating was the fact that they previously had absolutely no clues as to who the perp could be or why he did what he did. All they knew was that the victims bled to death and that some of their organs were being removed while they were still alive.

With so little information it should have been impossible for them to get anywhere but luckily the last victim was found alive, if only barely, a few hours earlier which led them to their current location.

The team, followed closely by local police officers, was now walking around a relatively large industrial building just outside of town. The building was old, smelled like copper and was almost completely empty except for old machinery that hadn't been thrown out yet.

Their steps echoed through the halls as they split into smaller and smaller groups until Spencer was walking down an empty hallway all by himself. The young agent looked around then, puzzled because at least one officer should have followed he didn't see anyone Spencer sighed and continued onwards, determined to leave this case behind him as soon as possible.

The young agent picked up his pace a little as he walked further down the vacant hallway. The only sounds that could be heard were his footsteps and the word "clear." occasionally coming out of his earpiece, reducing the possible hiding spaces of their unsub piece by piece. Otherwise the building was eerily silent, making the agent very paranoid causing him to look over his shoulder more frequently than he usually would.

With each step his nerves rose until he heard a loud thump, making Spencer jump in shock before he quickly collected himself.

Shortly after that first sudden noise he could hear something that sounded like quiet muttering. With that Spencer realised in which room the unsub might be hiding, causing relief to flood through him like waves.

Carefully the young agent started walking towards the noise, gripping his gun tighter with one hand while raising his other towards his earpiece. With a quiet but firm voice he then said, "I think I got him.", after that he walked further towards the door the noise had come from.

When he finally made it to the door, he reached for the old and rusty doorhandle. Steeling himself for anything Spencer then took a deep breath and pushed the old door open slowly cursing himself when the door made a loud, irritating screeching noise. The noise echoed through the otherwise silent building, making it almost painful to hear.

Knowing that he gave his position away, the agent adjusted his grip on his gun before carefully stepping into the room. Said room was dark and silent, making the young man feel extremely uneasy but he shoved his feelings down and reached for the light switch next to the door, hoping the light would make his nerves calm down a little.

The lamp only flickered a few times before a dull, yellowish light illuminated the small room. It was just bately enough to let Spencer see the rest of it.

There were old cardboard boxes standing all around the small space and cobwebs littered the corners accompanied with dead insect and old wrapping paper. It appeared the room was only used for storage before their unsub started squatting there.

Sighing softly Spencer walked a bit further into the room, looking around swiftly. A quick smirk graced his feautures shortly when he saw a broken cobweb next to a stack of boxes, knowing he found the place their unsub was hiding at. Spencer took another step forward and demanded, "FBI! Step in front of the boxes and keep your hands where I can see them.", his voice was firm but a small speck of nervousness could be detected if you paid enough attention.

It was silent for a little while before the man finally stood up. He was tall and skinny, with brown unpempt hair. The man looked quite erratic, his eyes jumping from box to box until they finally landed on Spencer, and more importantly, on his gun. The man then slowly stepped in front of the boxes while staring directly into Spencer's eyes.

With every step the Unsub took, the agent felt the uneasiness in his body grow more and more intense until he was almost vibrating with anxiety. Gripping his gun even tighter he took another look around the room in case he missed something but he didn't. When the man finally stood in front of him, Spencer tensed and the unsub stilled, while continuing to stare at Spencer with his cold, almost dead eyes.

The young agent swallowed thickly and took a small step forward to arrest the unsub when he heard him whisper with a raspy voice, "I hoped you'd be the one to find me.". With that the man grinned sardonically and reached into his pocket before suddenly throwing himself at Spencer. Shocked the agent quickly pulled the trigger, earning him a pained grunt from the man in front of him but his attacker wasn't deterred. He just punched Spencer in the face until a loud, sickening crack was heard echoing through the quiet room.

The agent tried to gain the upper hand once more but his vision was blurry and his mind was starting to get fuzzy. When his vision finally cleared, he could see the unsub holding a sharp knife just inches above his abdomen. Spencer's eyes widened and he opened his mouth to say something, anything to stop what was going to happen, but the other man was faster.

The unsub slammed his knife deep into the agents lower abdomen, just beneath his vest, twisting it around a few times before pulling it back out with a dark chuckle. Spencer yelled when he felt the pain, his shout only being cut off when he felt the knife suddenly leaving his stomach, tearing open more skin in the process.

With tears slightly clouding his vision he looked down at the wound, at the blood seeping out of his body, tinting his ripped shirt a dark red while a small pool of blood formed underneath him. He then looked back at the man sitting on his legs and shuddered when he saw him sliding his tongue over the bloody knife, licking it clean and moaning in glee at the coppery taste.

Wanting to use the albeit disturbing distraction Spencer reached for his earpiece only to realize that it wasn't on him anymore. Spencer's eyes frantically searched the room for it until he caught a glimpse of his tool far on his left, just out of reach. Disappointed in himself for letting himself get into this position and then losing his earpiece the agent slumped slightly before wincing at the pain he felt at the action.

Barely a minute later , when the knife was almost completely licked clean Spencer heard the unsub say, "You taste so good. I knew you would, that's why I wanted you here." It clicked for Spencer then that the women probably hadn't gotten away and that the officer he came with most definetely didn't leave him on his own on purpose.

The man on top of him was smiling and winked at Spencer before he then stabbed the agent a few more times, ripping him out of his thoughts brutally. He only stopped his movements when he was satisfied at the size of the wound he had caused.

He sighed contently and threw the knife away, Spencer thought about reaching for it shortly but dismissed the thought quickly as the knife was too far away from him.

The unsub then just stared at Spencer, who was writhing in pain on the dirty ground before turning his eyes primarily at the agents stomach, giving it a weird look.

Spencer's body filled with even more dread when he finally realized what the look in the unsubs eyes was, hunger. Only seconds later his attacker moved his hands towards Spencer's wounds, pushing his fingers inside roughly.

The man moaned with delight when he felt an organ beneath his dirty fingers. He continued to toy with Reid's insides, occasionally licking his fingers clean while Spencer groaned in pain every time the unsub moved his fingers even a little.

The only thought on the young agents mind, while he felt his insides being felt up in the worst way possible, was how long his team would take to find him in this massive building, occompanied by curses hurled at himself for being too tired to react properly when he needed to.

With every movement of the invasive fingers the genius begged himself to stay strong, to stay aware and awake, but the pain was growing increasingly worse with every other twitch. Slowly the unsub then moved his head up until he could look directly into Spencer's painstricken face. His smile seemingly widened every time he heard Spencer make a pained noise or winced.

When he saw tears running down the agents face he started chuckling darkly before moving one of his hands towards Spencer's pale face. He wiped away the agents tears, coating his face with blood, before he said, "You look so pretty when you cry, I bet you'll look even better completely drained.", before continuing his earlier ministrations.

Deep in his mind Spencer knew his team would find him before the unsub could even try to try and drain him of his blood but lying there, on the cold and hard floor, he believed it. He truly believed he would die here in this dingy building surrounded by his family but still alone. That thought almost frightened him nore then the man sitting on top of him with a mouth full of his blood.

While the unsub continued to consume Spencer's blood, said agent kept thinking about his family. His mother who would probably forget what happened to him after a while, his second godchild he would never meet and the boss he wouldn't get the chance to confess to. Thinking more and more about his life he realised that he had much more things he wanted or needed to do which he might never get the chance to now.

His thoughts were once again interrupted when he felt a thick, blood covered finger shove it's way into his mouth. For a second Spencer didn't react, too shocked at the events unfolding before he gagged at the taste and the feeling of his blood. The unsub laughed while Spencer coughed, desperately trying to get the taste out of his mouth.

The unsub then said, "Come on you taste delicious." He cackled even more at that before licking another load of blood off of his hands. Right as the man reached for Spencer's stomach once more, Morgan and Hotch finally burst into the room, weapons raised. When they saw what was happening to Spencer both men paled significantly and stared for a few painfully slow seconds before Morgan lunged at the man still sitting on his friend, wanting to hurt the man more then his gun ever could.

While the two men fought, Hotch swiftly put away his gun and yelled into his earpiece, "We need medics, left hallway, second to last room, Immedietly!", his voice was stern even tho the older agent felt uneasy and scared for the young mans life.

Hotch rushed to Spencer afterwards, pressing his slightly trembling hands on the gushing wound, resulting in a pained groan from the genius. He then looked at Spencer's face, the young agent was ghostly pale and shivering. His eyes looked unfocused and darted around the room, seemingly not noticing the other people around him. His shirt and the ground beneath him were covered in blood making him look even paler in contrast to the rich red color around and on him.

Worry clouded Hotch's face when he said, "Spencer? Look at me, you need to focus.", The older agent had to repeat himself a couple of times before Spencer finally looked at him, finally noticed him being there. When the younger agent locked eyes with his boss a small smile slipped onto his face before he said, "I knew you would come and find me again, I knew it.", With every word his voice grew quieter and weaker until it was nothing more than a broken whisper, barely audible over the pained grunts heard in the background.

With a still shaking hand Hotch cupped Spencer's cheek and almost recoiled when he felt how cold his skin already was, especially in comparison to the warm blood that was now coating his hands and arms. "Just hang on alright. You can't leave me yet.", Hotch sounded vulnerable, obviously so, which made Spencer aware of how dire the situation seemed to be.

While the wounded agent desperatly fought to stay awake, to stay coherent, Hotch thought about the last time he saw someone close to him laying on the ground, covered in blood and cold to the touch. He couldn't save Hayley then but he promised to himself that he wouldn't lose Spencer. He wouldn't let himself lose two people he cared about deeply. Both the mens thoughts were interrupted by a loud and sudden bang, making Hotch flinch slightly while Spencer only blinked in surprise.

Aaron whipped his head around and looked at Morgan who stood there, with his gun in hand over the beat up and dead unsub. It looked like Morgan had broken almost every bone in the other man's face, making it completely unrecognisable. If the situation wasn't so serious Hotch would have smiled at this but he didn't, instead he just continued to look at Morgan, following his movements for a bit.

Morgan quickly put away his gun and rushed towards Spencer, pressing his hands on Spencer's wounds to help Hotch stop the blood that was still pooling around their youngest agent.

When Morgan noticed Hotch still staring at him he briskly said, "He attacked me. It was self defence.", while his eyes were fixed on Spencer's pale, clammy face. "Of course.", Was the only thing Hotch offered in response before he fully concentrated on Spencer once more. Noticing how the young man's eyes had started to dart around again, unfocused and afraid.

A few minutes went by with the two unscathed members mumbling reassurances to Spencer who only smiled weakly if he reacted at whole time Reid was laying there he thought about Henry and JJ, about Hotch and Morgan who he didn't want to leave behind, about his other friends he desperately wanted to see again. About the things he still needed to do but he was so tired he couldn't really concentrate anymore.

Spencer then closed his eyes, telling himself he would open them after a few seconds, that he just needed a quick rest, but judging by the panicked shouts of his friends he had them closed for way longer than he thought. "Spencer please open your eyes alright? You can't fall asleep." Morgan sounded desperate and Spencer really tried to open his eyes again but he just couldn't force his eyes to open.

He could feel Morgan's hand press down harder onto his stomach in an attempt to get his eyes to open while Hotch's hand cupped Spencer's cheeks bringing warmth to his cold face. The genius felt warm now and the pain started to slip away finally, making the him relax further and further until he didn't feel anything anymore.

The last thought that crossed Spencer's clouded mind before he finally slipped away into blissful unconciousness was that he still wanted to meet his second godchild.

Softness was the first thing Spencer's senses picked up, shortly followed by the rythmic sound of beeping. Spencer furrowed his brows in confusion before he forced his eyes to open quickly only to close them again at the sudden brightness blinding him.

He could hear rustling next to him after that, followed by the relieved voice of Hotch, "Spencer?", Slowly Spencer opened his eyes again, squinting slightly at the still too bright light before he said, "Hey Hotch.". His voice was a little scratchy but had a soft, glad tone to it, making the older man smile in return.

Hotch gripped Spencer's hand tight before saying, "I'm so glad you're alright.", His expression was softer than Spencer had ever seen it directed at someone other than Jack, making him feel warm and cared for in the best sense possible.

"I'm glad too, I really wanted to see you again. All of you of course." Spencer said, turning a little red but he was too happy to care about his little slip up. Hotch's smile widened slightly at his words and the older man opened his mouth to respond before being interrupted by Morgan walking into the room.

Upon seeing Spencer alive and seemingly well Morgan yelled into the hallway for the others to come in, to make sure their resident genius was alright, unaware of the moment he had just interrupted.

As the rest of his family flooded the room Spencer looked into Hotch's calming eyes and smiled, knowing that the two of them would find time to talk about what they had just discovered, but for now he would let himself be content by being around the people he loved most.
