"Before you go anywhere, you need to fetch something. Something that's very important for the coming battle!" The Valentines said. Karaat was still confused, though he was starting to get used to the feeling. In a way, if anything normal happened, he would probably think it was a trick or an illusion. "Jorge, Narancia, Chiyako, you need to go to England in 1920 in the original universe to fetch the head of Jonathan Joestar!"
"A head?!" Chiyako gulped and honestly, at this point, Karaat wondered how she was staying remotely sane after everything she had been witnessing. She was braver than he would ever admit. Probably braver than he actually was, if he was being honest. He was grateful that everyone gave her a chance to cry, but he still felt like she needed more than a few minutes to cry. Unfortunately, they didn't have the time for that.
"Yes," they continued, saying, "Dio's body isn't his but Jonathon's. He stole it ages ago. Bring the head back so we can put them together and end this battle once and for all!"
Karaat shuddered at the thought. It was clear by now that Dio showed no remorse, but to take a dead man's body, that was insane! It had to be! He glanced over, surprised to see Chiyako so determined as she nodded while Jorge and Narancia got as much information as possible before they left. Which was probably for the best. He knew Jorge and Narancia would do their best to keep her safe, but he found himself getting nervous and praying that she'll get back to him.
Kars approached Karaat, noticing how he was watching Chiyako. While he hadn't vocally said it, he could tell that Karaat loved her very much. His first priority was always Chiyako and it was almost honorable how he would endure horrors if that meant that he could protect her from them. "She's stronger than she looks. She'll be fine. But we need to get ready. He's a very sneaky man, this Dio. And we all need to be ready to deal with any tricks he might have. I have a plan, but you'll need to trust me. Which I know is probably asking for a lot, given all the things I've done."
"You're right. A part of me is afraid that you'll still betray us, or even eat us. I'm sure you're actually hungry by now, especially after that large fight." When Kars smirked, he shook his head and said, "At this point, what choice do we have? You've proven yourself time and again as an ally. And even if it's a clever ruse to eat us later, you're doing what you can to keep us all alive. And that's more than I could ask for." Karaat turned to him and smirked. "Let's do this. Let's defeat Dio for good this time, or die trying." He held out his fist, noticing Kars' confusion. "It's a fist bump. I'm sure it's in your records?"
"Hmm? Oh yes. Just didn't take you for the kind of person." As their fists bumped, he smiled. "We need to start training. Let's make that vampire regret even looking at us!"
The training Kars was mentioning was actually testing his abilities with his stand, Made in Heaven Ultimate Requiem. He was testing to see what the Requiem version could do and the limitations of the stand. "Ah, so that's what this does! Impressive, most impressive!"
"Well, if it's impressive, mind explaining it to me?" Karaat asked, wincing a bit. He was grateful Karaat was having a eureka solution but it was still not easy to train with someone that was practically the skill level of a god, stand or not. Though, if he was being honest, he was pretty sure that despite his setbacks, Kars was probably past the skill level of a god.
"Oh, very simple. Requiem's purpose is to overwrite reality, you see. And the potential is practically limitless! This power can be used to rewrite the existence of anything I want. I can also steal or absorb souls and use them as I want, heal myself, resurrect the dead, and completely negate pretty much any set of defenses. But downside is, it can only be initiated through my hands. Oh! And I have a little something for you. A gift for being willing to go through this training for me. I'm sure it's not as easy for you as it is for me."
"Oh, I was hoping I would get a little gift. Wouldn't want you fighting on your own while we just stand there." Karaat knew his words probably sounded bitter, but how could one not when the two main people fighting were immortal beings who could survive being blown up over and over again. He shuddered at the memory, and his concern for how Chiyako was doing before focusing on Kars again, saying, "Sorry, that was immature. So, what did you make for me?"
"Worry not, I won't hold it against you. You saw quite a lot during that fight. You have a right to be slightly angry. Only slightly though. Let's focus. I adjusted your stand, actually. I evolved it into Night Boat at Cairo Ultimate Requiem. You will now have the ability to erase a frame of time up to one minute. It's a bit limited but it could prove quite beneficial in the coming battle, especially if you're backed against the wall. I don't want you or our allies stuck and unsure what to do if I get caught in something again." Kars said, nodding, though Karaat wasn't sure if he was more nodding to himself to assure himself or to assure Karaat.
Karaat had to admit he was relieved. It seemed that Kars was taking in the tricks that Dio had used into account and making sure that they weren't left stranded if he got caught in something. That was Kars though, always adjusting and changing his tactics to ensure success. He was secretly glad Kars was their ally and not their enemy. Summoning the new and improved stand, Karaat smirked, feeling the strength with the adjustments. "Well, I think it's time we pay a visit to Dio, don't you?" As Kars nodded and clapped him on the back, he smirked slightly. They were about as ready as they would be. It was time to end this. He just hoped Chiyako, Jorge, and Narancia were able to complete their goal as well.
"So, this is Trinity church?" Karaat asked, looking around. He still couldn't believe this was happening. This was probably going to be the final showdown and he wasn't sure if they would survive. He knew he should be confident, but it was hard to be confident. Even with his new and Kars new powers, he had to admit, he was slightly nervous. Still, he wouldn't give up. A lot had changed since the beginning of his journey. Technically that journey was ages ago, when he first played the Blu-ray disc. He just hoped that whatever happened tonight, he wouldn't regret the decision he had made all that time to watch it. And, maybe in a weird way, he hoped to get a tiny bit of closure.
"Yes, it is." Kars said, "The Second Universe versions of the church to be exact." He saw Funny Valentine approaching and he stretched for a moment. "Time to go. No more waiting. Keep your wits about you. I'm sure you know but Dio is very tricky. I wouldn't be surprised if he's got some traps. Let's just hope he's too cocky to think of that."
"Right, yeah, no more waiting." Karaat said, thinking about Chiyako, and his wife. They would figure it out, they kind of had to. And then he would head back home, hopefully with both of them if it was possible. Smiling to himself, he followed Funny and Kars into the church, ready for the final battle.
