"Well, it's a good thing we bought flashlights." Alisa said. Earlier, they had to go to a store in Toad Town and bought some flashlights in case, and thank goodness they did because the letter mention a deep dark forest.

"Indeed. The letter did mention a dark forest, so it is wise to bring flashlights." Sharon nodded

"Mama mia… why couldn't it be someplace that's all sunshine and rainbows?" Luigi groaned.

"But look on the bright side, at least it's not a mansion and not some creepy graveyard." Mayumi sighed.

Luigi pulled out his map. "Let's see… we should be right about… here." He said, looking up to see the haunted mansion, complete with flashing lightning!

"Oh great, it has lighting for the dramatic effect." Michiru sighed as they walked toward the mansion.

"I'm starting to have second thoughts about this." Mayumi gulped.

"Ah don't worry about it Mayumi. We can handle it." Hyouta said with a thumps up.

"Great, thank for the support." She rolled her eyes as they walked up the steps to the mansion, with some crows watching them. Luigi timidly reached for the door and opened it, and was the first to peek in.

"Hello?" Luigi asked before walking in with the group.

"Hmm... well at least we can testify that the mansion is real." Manabu said as they closed the door… and then the lightning struck, illuminating the entire room. "Huh... Is lighting going to be a regular occurrence each time we walk down these halls?"

"If that's the case, then perhaps we should get use to it." Nagahiro advised as they looked around the mansion.

"Maaaario!" Luigi asked, but to no avail.

"Hmm... how mysterious. Your brother should respond. Not unless he's taking a shower." Manabu amused.

"Really? Taking a shower in this place?" Mayumi sweatdrop.

"Well, if this mansion is legit, it wouldn't surprise me." Hyouta said as they went up the stairs, looking around and then made it to the first floor where they went to the left and twisted the knob, only it was locked.

"Anyone got a key?" Michiru asked.

"Unfortately, no." Gwyn answered.

"Oh if only Emma was here." Alisa sighed. "Or Ashe." She added before they walked over to the other door and tried to open it. It was locked like the first one, only this time, they heard a noise that sounded like laughter.

"Did any of you hear that?" Sharon asked, as she look around.

"Yup, we did." Mayumi gulped said. "What should we do now?" She asked as she walked down the stairs. "Both doors are locked and there's nothing we ca-"

(Luigi's Mansion ost - First Key Appears)

What appeared in front of him was a faint orange spirit holding a key dancing around… and then spotted Mayumi.

"AAAAAAAAAAAH!" Mayumi screamed, which startled the spirit before it quickly bolted, nearly running into everyone while dropping the key near Mayumi and quickly went into the locked doors.

"Wha-Wha-Wha-Wha-Wha-Wha-" Alisa asked as she turn pale.

"I believe that might be a ghost." Sharon said.

"Holy shit... can't believe ghosts are real." Michiru blicked

"I think I had a heart attack!" Mayumi groaned

"How do you think I feel?!" Luigi groaned as Gwyn went down and picked up the key.

"Well will you look at that. Guess we out ourselves key." Gwyn said.

"Before we go, look." Nagahiro said, turning to the door with vines on it. "What's with this door? Are those actual vines?"

"Hmm." Sharon approaches the door and examine it. "I detect some form of barrier in place." She examine it more and notice the heart at the door. "Hmm. Perhaps if we find the right key, the barrier will be disabled. For the meantime, we should avoid touching it."

"I'm starting to think I should ask Emma to come." Alisa sighed. "Actually, let me see if she's available." She pulled out her Rotom Phone and begin to call Emma.

"While you're going that. We should go upstairs and see which key it works." Nagahiro suggest.

"Do we have to?" Mayumi asked

"Yep, we have to Mayumi." Hyouta said as they walked back up the stairs as Gywn went to unlock the door, and much to her surprise, the key disappeared.

"Okay, wow! You all saw that right?!" The startled Pyrrha asked the others.

"Nope! We all saw it!" Hyouta exclaimed.

"How did the key disappear?!" Alisa exclaimed.

"I'm not so sure myself. It's quite disturbing indeed." Sharon nodded. "But it seems we're able to access the room."

"Let's hope it isn't anything too scary. Oh this old heart of mine will get a heart attack." Gwyn sighed as he opened the door that lead to some Parlor room.

They walked in through the Parlor, all while Mayumi, and Luigi were scared as they look around.

"Okay, this place give me the creeps..." Mayumi gulped. "I thought that situation with the student council wasn't enough..."

"Now you know how I feel..." Luigi gulped as the duo started walking… and then a Gold Ghost popped out of nowhere and screamed at them.

"AAAAAAAAAH!" All two of them screamed and fell on their butts, the Ghost went closer, but the others went to try and aid the gang.

(Luigi's Mansion ost - Meeting )

"Hey! Leave them alone!" Alisa shouted, ready to attack them… and then suddenly, on the other side of the room, a door swung open and then the Gold Ghost suddenly yelped in pain, as they heard a vacuum and then saw sucking up the Gold Ghost.

But the Gold Ghost persisted and flew off, dragging the old man away from them… and then the Gold Ghost got ready and walloped the old man, knocking him away as he then laughed and mocked at the old man before it disappeared.

"Professor E. Gadd!" Alisa exclaimed

"Hey, you three okay?!" Michiru asked as he and the others approach the group.

"Yeah, we're fine..." Mayumi sighed with relief.

"Well, this is a sort of sore eyes." E. Gadd chuckled as he got up. "If it isn't Alisa, Sharon and Luigi. Fancy seeing you all here."

"It's good to see you two. Are you okay?" Alisa asked.

"Oh, I'm quite all right." He said as he got up. "Oof. I'm getting too old for this ghost-catching. I swear, more of those dang ghosts keep popping up in this mansion day after day!" E. Gadd said. " So what brings you whippersnappers here anyhow?" He asked, but before they could get an answer, a lot of Gold Ghosts showed up. "Uh-Oh! There's more of them! Quick, let's get out of here!"

"Right!" She nodded and then they ran out while getting the others out of the mansion as well.

Outside of the mansion...

(Luigi's Mansion ost - Professor E. Gadd)

"Ah, so those are your names." E. Gadd said as they were in his lab. "It's wonderful to meet you all. And a pleasure to meet Alisa's Grandfather too. So what brings you all here?"

"Well on my part. We were looking for you to discuss the projects." Alisa said.

"Oh yes! I knew I forgot something today that's important."

"As for us. We taken this job to investigate this mysterious contest that Luigi never one." Manabu said.

"Luigi won a costest that he's never won?"

"That's right." Michiru nodded

"That's fishy… veeeeery fishy." E. Gadd mused. "Hmm, that mansion itself appeared a few days ago and I was looking around the mansion when those ghosts showed up. I'm telling you, age is catching up to me. I've been hunting ghosts since I was just a lad, but now… I've been not so efficient at it. And now that I think about it, I did see Mario walking to the mansion. He didn't bother to say hi to me."

"So Mario went inside and never came out?" Alisa asked. "Then something must have happened to him!"

"In that case, we got to go back there. But the problem is with those ghosts." Michiru pointed out.

"Indeed. Luigi, did you bring your Poltergusts 3000?" E. Gadd asked.

"No. I left it at home. I didn't think to bring it with me." Luigi answered

"That's unfortunate. Luckily, you know how to use it. But as for the rest of you. I'm afraid you can't go there, not unless I train you."

"Train us?" Nagahiro asked.

"That's right. I have many Poltergusts 3000 just in case. Come on, the training room is this way!" E. Gadd said as he and Luigi follow him, while everyone else look at each other and then begin to follow them.

(Luigi's Mansion ost - Training)

"Alright, here's how you gotta do it!" E. Gadd said through a screen. "Just shine your flashlight at the ghosts that appear, and when you do, you will see a heart within the ghost, meaning you have startled them. Then suck it in! Also, do it quickly, they tend to disappear after a few seconds, so make it count."

"Okay, here's goes nothing!" Mayumi said with her equip Poltergust 3000 as they waited for some Gold Ghosts to show up and then when they shone their lights at the Gold Ghosts, they sucked 'em right in.

"Might I recommend turning it off and then turning it back on at the right moment? The element of surprise never hurts!" E. Gadd chuckled.

"Element of surprise, huh?" Michiru amused.

"Sounds like we're going to play a bit of ghostbusters." Nagahiro chuckled.

"This sure brings back memories, doesn't it Luigi?" E. Gadd asked.

"Oh yeah..." Luigi frowned. "The job offering to to test your latest model for your ghost busting business."

"Right, and you were cowering in the corner. Ahahaha! Good times."

"So. You invented a vacuum that can suck on ghosts huh?" Gwyn asked. "Boy if only everyone else can see that."

"Congratulations, you did an amazing job on those ghosts! And hey, if you ever feel the need to work on your skills, you're free to come back and train at any time! For now, why not come by in the gallery?"

(Luigi's Mansion ost - Gallery)

"Wow, you have a nice gallery Professor." Sousaku said as they went to look around the gallery full of empty paintings.

"Yeah, seriously. I didn't know you were interested in art." Alisa said

"Hey, Who's breathing down my neck?" Michiru asked as he look back but no one is there. "Huh?" He turn look in front and a black, spherical creature surrounded by a purple haze. "Gah!"

"Gastly!" The Gastly laughed as he floated upward. "Gastly Gas!"

E. Gadd chuckled. "That's Gastly. I found the little feller all wandering around Boo Woods with his friends. Don't worry, they're harmless. He and his pals like play pranks on occasion. They taken a liking to me."

"Hahahaha! A pleasure to meet you Gastly!" Manabu greeted.

"Gast!" Gastly chuckled.

"If I remember right, Gastly is a pokemon, right?" Mayumi asked.

"Right you are." nodded

"Professor." Sousaku called out. "These panting..."

"Come to think of it... these panting look... empty." Alisa said

"Ah, they used to be full of ghosts that I've captured over the years, but unfortunately, they all escaped. You can thank King Boo for that. I even had descriptions on those ghosts too… but they're all gone. It wouldn't surprise me if they want their revenge on me." He sighed. "Well except for one."

"Which one?" Nagahiro asked

"The Elder Princess Shroob."

"The Elder Princess Shroob?!" Luigi exclaimed

"Who's Elder Princess Shroob?" Michiru asked as Luigi and Alisa explain to them. "Evil bitch. got it."

"So will you be busy Professor?" Alisa asked.

"To discuss about the plan for that project? Not at the moment no."

"That's good. Because we were hoping to discuss this with you. But we should see if Mario is okay..."

"In that case, why don't you and the others go while I stay here, keep E. Gadd company and we can discuss about that project while you're at it." Gwyn suggest

E Gadd nodded. "Sounds like a plan. So, are you all ready to go?"

"Yeah, let's go find my brother!" Luigi said as they nodded.

"Oh, you're gonna need these." E. Gadd said, giving them each a Game Boy. "This… is the Game Boy Horror. It's useful for scanning certain things and also for communication between all of you. Heck, I can call in!" He said.

"Thank you dear professor." Manabu smiled.

"Hey, isn't this the small version from the one back in the Beanbean Kingdom?" Alisa asked

"Yep. I tried working on a 3DS, but unfortunately, I'm still working out the kinks. Hmm, maybe if I tried a regular DS…" E. Gadd mused. "Ah, I'll figure it out." He chuckled

Alisa nodded. "Alright. Later professor." She said and climbed up the ladder with the others as E. Gadd waved goodbye as everyone walked up to the steps and opened the door, walking in with the doors closing behind them.

And the adventuring to the haunted mansion begins! I was planning to bring Emma along but wasn't sure.
